The art is ok. Not very dynamic, looks like a rookie.
But look what books win an award sometimes. You ask yourself who wants to read that or why that should be interesting.
His arms look weird in that second panel. I understand he is holding her in his arms and his forearms are pointed at the camera therefore being overlapped by the hands, but it just doesn't look right. Almost like his elbows are tucked backwards and his forearms wouldn't be extended past his chest enough to hold her laying flat like that. Maybe there should have been more foreshortening?
Having all of these other artists contribute to Black Hammer is a slap in the face to Ormston. He had to learn how to draw again after some bout of brain damage, and then Lemire went and did shit like this.

Erica Henderson has two large Eisners.
I always thought her art was over hated. But maybe I just think she’s a QT3.14
Fricking simps, man. You'll be the death of us.
Simps spend money on thots. Me saying a woman’s art is overhated is hardly simping.
But you’re just a homosexual ass zoomer trying to use terms you don’t even understand.
There's a spectrum of simping, and you're on it.
This looks like thise african comics. Like they literally look traced.
The Eisner awards generally mean nothing anymore in fact if a book wins one it’s better to avoid it cause more than likely it sucks.
Uegh
Is that Black Hammer?
>How did this thing win an Eisner?
For Lettering, coloring, and overall series.
but not for art. So what are you talking about?
Overall series includes the art and its dogshit.
>Amerisharts literally hand out awards for who can do a coloring book the best
Notice Japan doesn't color their manga because they know some hack fraud will demand recognition for it.
that might just be a "refrained from using fricking gradients award" random winner
they fricking need it
I don't think any of the nominees are ever the standard big two coloring crowd. It's more based on color theory than anything.
>japan refrains from using color because they're afraid of sharing credit
No wonder their work is so sterile and by the numbers
A book with c+/b- art can win overall series?
Remember that Tom King won an Eisner for his Batman run. Eisner awards are a farce.

2023 Eisners are secret warnings which comics to stay the frick away from. Just like Oscars.
