This thread could have been made ten years ago without chanfing a single word. If you're still keeping up with big two books at this point you have a problem.

Yeah no Marvel's nostalgiabait pandering back then was nowhere as bad as this

Oh God, was beast trying to guilt trip Scott with his time displaced self and first team really over 10 years ago?

yeah it's another "let's shill the O5 and try to sell some floppies" again.

they might even scapegoat beast again to do it like last time.

Beast has become an absolute bastard, so there's a lot of drama to be mined from young Beast seeing what a monster he's become in just five real-time years since these guys were kicked back to the past.

          >beast is a bastard
except rightclops is the direct path to krakoa. beast was against mutants flying off the handle. "young beast hating old beast" is a repeat of bendis shit. actually trying to pick through the "drama" as you say is exactly why OP is correct in saying it represents everything that's wrong with marvel

Wait, wasn't there a rumor that MCU's take on the X-Men would be the O5? This sounds to me like they're doing pre-emptive synergy

Honestly, outside a few people like myself, nobody really likes the original X-Men team. If it ain't got Wolverine it ain't X-Men.

There is no "progress." Marvel wants to publish these characters in a recognizable form decades, centuries after we're dead. The kids who grew up with the first Marvel comics are in their 60s and 70s. These characters will outlive them, just as they outlived their creators.

Shake-ups like this have been a part of the process for decades. It always returns to the school in Westchester though.

                >krakoan amnesty absolved them of their crimes
                >but also krakoa no longer exists

okay so the amnesty means nothing. you're trying to have it both ways. your reasoning is just another contrivance to literally let every single x-men character have carte blanche except for beast

Beast is an international criminal and doesn't have a single friend left in the world because he burned every possible bridge he could burn. With Krakoa gone, the villains they harbored will also go back to being wanted criminals.

Honestly does any other member of the group have half the likelihood kids Cyclops coming back? Seriously it's time with the champions probably makes her the only one of the original X5 who has any good reason to go back again. Do any of the other one of those guys have any relationships outside the X-Men which cannot be done just as easily with the modern incarnation?

          >>it's fine when magneto is a terrorist
          >>it's fine when apocalypse and sinister are on a mutant council for ALL mutants
The Krakoan amnesty absolved all their previous crimes. Magneto left and died heroically, Apocalypse also left, Sinister was put in the pit for post-Krakoa crimes.
          >it's fine for nature girl shenanigans
She was put in the pit for her crimes, but yeah it's bullshit that Krakoa let her out anyway and there should have been/should be a reckoning for that.
          >but no it's bad when beast does the thing. just beast.
He broke a bunch of international and two out of three Krakoan laws, but believed it to be worth it so that nation could continue. Well now their nation is dead, he did it all for nothing.
