This face seems a very unlikely one to become as successful as it has. He's not handsome, but he's also not ugly enough to be "the ugly actor", he just looks kinda weird and like some guy you'd see on the street, there's nothing particular about his face other than that he looks kinda strange

It's the boosh
He was a couple of weeks in the oven away from making it bros.
He has a very particular look, voice and mannerisms that make him perfect for a chatacter actor and he hit his stride at exactly the right time in the 90's so he was in every hot directors movies (Tarantino, the Coens) which led to him being on every casting director in Hollywood's list when they needed a well known "that guy"
Why are you under the impression you have to good looking to be an actor? There's an entire plethora of characters who don't require that
The 100 years of cinema the famous were the beautiful ones all star were. Until the past 15 years of body positive bull shit
Jack Elam and Ken Curtis
They aren't part of the movie stars that are beautiful rich and famous.
homie please
Quite the opposite, I feel like the current industry doesn't let "funny-looking" actors like Buscemi star in big projects anymore.
>he’s also not ugly enough to be “the ugly actor”
Anon, no. When you think of ugly actors, Steve Buscemi is the example that comes up most often.
This. Compared to the average creatura he may not be, but when you're in a business where everyone is super hot, being the "ugly guy" or the "fat guy" is a different bar.
Looks gays are the second most vapid and soulless posters I've ever had the displeasure of posting with on this website. I can appreciate aesthetics as much as anyone else, but the way you creeps dismiss and fail to comprehend the basics of human expression is very off-putting.
It stems from insecurity. There's this illusion people have that good looks will fix their lives. In reality, yes, good looks are useful, but only because they will give you a sometimes much needed confidence boost.
But if someone is entirely superficial and puts that as a number one requirement, you're likely dealing with a sociopath.
You're completely misunderstanding me, I love Buscemi and think his look fits perfectly for him, but Hollywood is a very superficial place and I'm surprised somebody with his look has made it, though I am glad he has
I love Steve Buscemi. He gets a lot of sex scenes and also a lot of death scenes. This is important to me.
>he's also not ugly enough to be "the ugly actor"
he literally gets called ugly in movies all the time
recently watched Fargo and he was constantly described as "a funny looking guy"
probably because he is really ugly
funny looking doesnt mean ugly looking now does it anon, if that is your real name
is not getting euphimisms an autistic trait
funny looking is the conservative way of saying butt ugly
Not very conservative talking about if somebody you don't know is circumcised or not
It's not. The joke was that he was neither ugly or attractive and not dinstinguishable beyond being kinda funny looking.
>he literally gets called ugly in movies all the time
recently watched Fargo and he was constantly described as "a funny looking guy"
that's exactly what the fricking OP said numbnuts, he's not attractive, he's not very ugly, he's just kinda funny lookin
>recently watched Fargo and he was constantly described as "a funny looking guy"
That is calling someone ugly moron.
Well then I think you're funny lookin
this guy picks up mexican immigrants from the bus stand to watch him take a shower
It's not surprising that he's successful because he's a very talented actor.
Unless you only go for the leading role in Hollywood shit or are a woman looks don't matter as much as your acting ability.
Good job, OP. You just made me want to watch Boardwalk Empire again. You son of a b***h 🙂
