This film is the last chance for animation to avoid a dark age of solely IP creations instead of new stories. If this fails then all major studios, not just Disney/Pixar, will not make an original concept for the next few decades and just rape their prior IPs.
Elemental has to succeed to save animation.
Every movie thinks they're important. They're not. Movie looks like ass.
Elemental is just a bad retread of Zootopia, minus the cop story. Having it be a huge success would harm animation because it would mean that terrible writing and lazy storytelling will continue to be accepted as long as there's a little eye candy to distract the audience.
How is it like Zootopia at all? This is a romantic comedy. Did Nick and Judy even get together in their movie?
Not even. Zootopia was more of a racism angle. This seems to be more so on some interracial love bullshit. Watch, water boy and fire girl will learn of a way to be together physically creating a new duo element, steam, which will go to inspire all the other elements to pursue their choices fully in who they love so by movies end you'll see steam, mud, stone, boiled water, etc all walking around in this new world.
You're right and I hate that
>More thinly veiled race mixing.
>Pixars last hope.
Let me guess you were a storyboarder or some shit on this and you don't want to be fired when this flops.
>Pixar’s ACTUAL Last Hope coming thru
Pixar is fucked.
It's unironically over. But, maybe we can get some underdog animation studios to cannibalize on Pixar's crash.
They really should have lead with "this is an alien abduction movie" instead of "this is a movie about a gay kid"
But they didn't abduct him. He just stumbled into a wormhole.
>This film is the last chance
There will be others, anons.
Yea, like Inside Out 2 and Toy Story 5/maybe 6
Disney and Pixar are too filled with writers that want to carve out their own legacy to make sequels work. They don't want to work on someone else's sloppy seconds, and if they are forced to, they will force their characters onto the established characters and everything just sucks (like the Rescue Rangers movie or Lightyear).
We already failed when we gave that soulless Mario commercial 1.3 billion.
Pixar died when YMS pointed out how TS2 and TS3 are the same movie
And it was. Just because that dogfucker pointed it out doesn't make it any less true.
I don’t disagree
WALL·E was the last great Pixar film
Dogfucker killed the Kimba/Lion King debate with his feature length deep dive into the Kimba franchise that ultimately exposed the whole thing as people parroting bad faith comparisons by a butthurt elder weeb without actually fucking watching Kimba for themselves.
It's a cartoon for kids you fucking nerds, get real.
This movie looks like unimaginative shit, OP. This aint gonna be what saves animation.
