upps, sorry, I meant "if", how can you know how the 90s were like, if you didn't even were born in the 90s?!.
I remember the 90s, music began to change when the 2000s (the new millenium) began.
And yes, the good natured cynicism were in movies, and life was almost totally different than nowadays, at least for now.
I'm from the 90s (I lived one of the most important stages of a person's life (childhood and teenage) in the 90s), a 90s kid, I was born on October 2, 1989. Life was way more innocent than nowadays, like all innocent, at least for now. Who knows?, maybe life will get better. Music videos turned into porn in the 2000s decade, but soon after the 10's began it changed.

The brady bunch movie would be good natured satire, it pokes fun at the show's saccharine nature, but there's a definite love behind behind it.
Compare it to something like the heist episode in rick and morty, that treats the topic with nothing but disdain even as it repeats the tropes note for note.

Considering that this is the inspiration from Margot's private letterboxd account, I don't think you're correct. It's more like a young adult/general audience rom-com with an ironic edge to it that women will enjoy more than men.

Seconding this. "Femcel" women (not literally celibate, just a name) can easily have sex but finding someone who loves them is next to impossible. Austist men can easily find "love" in comradery but are doomed to never have sex.

That's really funny cause Josie and the Pussycats sucks fricking shit compared to Spice World. I think you never watched Spice World, it's a true british satire. Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie are in the fricking movie! It has a bunch of great actors in it; Meatloaf, Alan Cummings, Richard E. Grant, Roger Moore, George Wendt. It's genuinely funny and it has no shame to be what it is, unlike Josie and the Pussycats.

I have insider knowledge on this movie because I work at a VFX studio and have a few friends who work on it.
Honestly looks fun. All the ocean is solid unmoving plastic and literally everything is pink. All the background characters are laying in lawn chairs and shit in really awkward rigid barbie positions. They went all out with the visual design.
Also it’s an adult movie, obviously. Not made for kids.

I have no idea if the movie is good or not, I haven’t seen it and don’t know the story at all. Never claimed it was “kino”. It has no bearing on me whether you think it looks good or not.

    >Speaking matter-of-factly about “Barbie Girl,” Ulrich Møller-Jørgensen, manager to Aqua’s lead singer Lene Nystrøm, said “the song will not be used in the movie.” Møller-Jørgensen did not expand on why “Barbie Girl” won't be in Barbie, but as Variety notes, it could have something to do with the 1997 lawsuit Mattel filed against the band for trademark violation. Along with its claims of copyright infringement, Mattel also argued that the sexual implications of Aqua’s song damaged the Barbie brand and the company’s marketing plans. Ultimately, Mattel’s initial suit was dismissed by a lower court, and its later appeal to the Supreme Court was rejected. It seems safe to say that the toy manufacturer’s feelings about the song have yet to change.
