It was made out of spite. The studio was going to do it with or without the Watchoski's input/approval, so one of them said frick it may as well get paid to ruin it on his own terms and the other just walked away entirely.
Neo and Trinity are resurrected and both of them have to be freed from the Matrix again because it turns out that "the one" is actually two people, Neo and Trinity together.
>Neo and Trinity are resurrected and both of them have to be freed from the Matrix again because it turns out that "the one" is actually two people, Neo and Trinity together.
Is that what it was about?
I barely remember anything about it except for Trinity turning Chinese when she REEEEEs and that French homosexual in garbage clothes with a garbage gang
The watchoski trannies had no idea how to continue the matrix series so they just made a matrix movie that made fun of itself and essentially was a repeat of what came before. God damn it was so bad. Think of that rave scene but make an entire movie about it and that still would be more enjoyable than the 4th matrix movie.
Ah, yes, it was totally the fans and not big corpo telling them that if they just shit out another movie they'll give them money because people like the IP, and all they could managed to do between dilation sessions is repeat the same story with even less creativity in the fight choreography somehow. So they make a terrible forgettable movie that nobody wants to talk about because they're getting one over on the fans.
And why do you think Warner wanted that in the first place? Because fans will pay money to see it. You can indict the system all you want but moronic audiences clamoring for a fourth film for decades even though they hated the second and third ones created a marketplace for it to exist and it's disingenuous and lazy to pawn all the blame on a money making industry for trying to make money.
The fans wanted a GOOD movie. Defending them making a shit movie is absurd. They did that silly ass meta commentary because they were incapable of making something great and they know it.
Do you actually they could have made a good movie if they wanted to? The first matrix was they're only good product, and things went downhill after that. They'll never reach the heights of the first matrix movie ever again, so they took the lazy way out and b***hed and moaned instead of creating, and tards like
Thanks man I appreciate that.
eat it up.
Dont get me wrong, there's a lot of fricking stupid people out there and I think you should absolutely capitalize on their blind devotion to consooming garbage (look at star wars, and Blizzard, and EA, and all the others that milk people for all their worth).

I'm not defending them making a shit movie, you moron. I'm just not defending the fans either. >Dont get me wrong, there's a lot of fricking stupid people out there and I think you should absolutely capitalize on their blind devotion to consooming garbage
So basically everything I said is 100% correct
This movies actual fatal flaw wasn't the weird veiled allegories - it honestly was that the action simply sucked. It wasn't cool at all. The first three movies all have memorable action scenes and this one i can't recall hardly at all. It's just kind of a bummer of a movie.
Yep. The action sucks and the visual style inside the Matrix is ruined, dropping the grimy green tinted look in favor of over-saturated colors and light bloom effects all over the place, kinda like the fricking Hobbit movies
The first third was a pretty interesting/clever meta-narrative on the success of the original series as well as the modern landscape of late stage nostalgia culture. People are right to give it credit for that, but it also has to be acknowledged that once Neo leaves the nu-matrix the movie almost immediately falls apart. By the end credits it has become everything it mocked, and none of the self awareness in the world gives it a free pass. Things that are ironically bad are still bad.
>pretty interesting/clever meta-narrative
No, it wasn't. It was corny and moronic. "Durr WB wants us to make a movie" and then literally put that in the actual movie.
The 4th wall breaking was the dumbest shit they could have done and they went and did it.
Notice how all these revivals of classic movies either are terrible dogshit OR just okay and never talked about again. While the originals are still considered as classics.
The new Ghostbusters movies are a good example. Nobody talks about them and they had no impact on kids or even adults like the originals had.
Original. Not originals. Ghostbusters II is dogshit. The first one was lightning in a bottle and it should have been left alone. It cannot be repeated.
Ghostbusters 2 is kino. Stop being a shit taste homosexual.
Literally the only issue I have with it is that they fall for the sequel writing trap: in the sequel the protagonists are down in the dumps, split up etc. because we need drama and something to overcome. I hate that trope.
>Ghostbusters II is dogshit
>I saw it when I was a child therefore good
Do not breed.
You wouldn't be so reactionary and dramatic about encountering a differing opinion unless you knew I was right.

Calling GB 2 dogshit just sounds too extreme, I'm bringing you picture to remind you that there's alot of kino stuff in this movie, you could say that the first one is better, but GB 2 is absolutely not a bad movie.

If you were looking for a sci-fi action movie with great choreography and special effects (aka you're an NPC), then you will hate it.
If you hate contemporary corporate media and the modern world, and found the only interesting aspect of the original to be its meta-narrative about how the human cattle masses are brainwashed from birth by the technocratic overlords' media simulation, then you will love it.
did it though? I mean, did it really happen if you consider that after the sequels there was >no trust in the wachowskis to ever make something good again and they haven't made anything good since The Matrix >only one of the troony brothers even showed up to make this one >Reeves refused to get the Neo hair style or even shave for the role >they couldn't or didn't want to get the other two most important actors, Weaving and Fishburne, so their roles are weirdly changed to not feel like a continuation at all
basically neither the original creators, nor the original performers showed up so I think we all knew this would be a jarring spinoff feeling mess. that's how the film was received so when it confirmed all our expectations nobody got emotionally invested, there was no cognitive dissonance like with, say, the Star Wars sequels. we all chose not to take this movie seriously from the get go, that's why it feels like it was a dream of sorts.
and it was schizokino
It felt like cringe kino in the sense that it was a parody of requals and 4th wall breaks, in modern media wether intenional or not.
It was made out of spite. The studio was going to do it with or without the Watchoski's input/approval, so one of them said frick it may as well get paid to ruin it on his own terms and the other just walked away entirely.
The spite makes a lot of sense. They even had a line complaing about making a sequel to the trilogy.
fpbp
it was done om purpose to frick warner to kill matrix sequels
and thats why its schizokino
Bino
Did it?
Can someone qrd the plot?
Neo and Trinity are resurrected and both of them have to be freed from the Matrix again because it turns out that "the one" is actually two people, Neo and Trinity together.
>Neo and Trinity are resurrected and both of them have to be freed from the Matrix again because it turns out that "the one" is actually two people, Neo and Trinity together.
What?
By integrating with his feminine side Neo becomes trans. That's literally the ending.
that doesn't sound that bad. Ties into the Adam and Eve story of Eve coming from Adam's rib.
Those hairstyles in the back tho... yikes.
A FORCE DYAD?
Is that what it was about?
I barely remember anything about it except for Trinity turning Chinese when she REEEEEs and that French homosexual in garbage clothes with a garbage gang

It was a commentary on morons like you wanting fan service and more of the same with reboots.

Brilliant take

I can't imagine being this much of a corporate bootlicker holy shit.
>we intentionally made the movie bad to own the chuds
The Wachowski dabs on morons who didn't get the first one and on modern entertainment/society in general.
this
Trannies spotted. Shit movie absolute political pandering
>The Wachowski dabs on morons who didn't get the first one
That first one where they ripped off the plot from Grant Morrison?

it's on purpose
it's meta
They were told guns are bad now so only the bad guys use guns so Neo has to cast hadoukens
i refuse to support trannies, simple as.
> I'm not gonna watch a good movie because I'm scared of people different than me :'(
whatever groomer
I thought we were talking about trannies then suddenly you accuse me of being a catholic priest?
Did it? Cause I never watched it.
Why didn't Lawrence Fishbourne come out?
I enjoyed it.
>dude they made it bad on purpose that means it was le good

Nice bait homosexual.
Ghostbusters was always cringe
I mean I watch the plinkett review of ghostbusters 2016 a lot so technically some people are still talking about that one.
And it was good.
The Matrix Resurrections made me question my enjoyment of the originals.
It was the single biggest disappointment at the movies for the last decade.
The Star Wars sequels I knew were going to be lukewarm when JJ was involved. I was ready for the disappointment of Last Jedi after Force Awakens.
But I was not prepared for how fricking terrible Resurrections was.

It's very Tedpilled.

I think they lost their touch for cinema. Their first movies are so much better.
It was pretty good, all things considered. It was a massive shitpost in a good way
Old people acting as teenagers is the cringest thing
