This image from the television program South Park. What did we think of it and how did you respond to this televised program?
For me, this episode of a TV show tricked me into thinking WoW was fun. It's a very good episode though with lots of funny jokes. Randy Marsh is my favourite character
Kino.
uh oh janny isn't gonna like this...
Imagine deleting a television thread. Jannies really do have brainrot
99% of the thread was not about television shut the frick up Black person
Imagine being so angry that an episode of tv could be about video games
at least their pay matches their contributions to this site
Vanilla wow was fun. BC was already cancer and WotLK was the killing blow
TBC was the best expansion and only improved the game.
WotLK killed the game.
>arenas
>flying mounts
>no more 40 man raids
>gathering stones
TBC may be the best expansion but that's a low bar and it led to a lot of shit that killed the soul of the game
Break the core
Is this comic saying female characters can't be both sexy and well written/competent, and can only "strong" if they look like picrel? or that it's okay with they do it?
it's saying that its author is schizo
>t.didnt actually play the game just saying some shit they heard one time
No I actually played the game. And TBC was my favorite time because it had the best raid content.
Wrath had the worst raid content.
i liked ulduar and icc. toc was such a pile of shit
The problem with Wrath was that the only raid at launch was Naxx. And so much time before the next raid meant people did naxx 50 million times and got bored with the game and left.
That's what happened to my guild.
if they didnt make the re-released naxx so ridiculously piss easy it might have been interesting for a while longer
The transition from ulduar to TOC was hilarious
>Fight an old god that has corrupted an entire continent
>Fight the herald of the titans that can destroy the entire planet
>TOC launches
>fight a fricking yeti
what a clownshow lmao
Human starting area was the best.
i have such good memories of vanilla stormwind to booty bay
too bad it's dead and gay
I prefer the Nightelf starting area but the run to get to Ironforge was a pain in the ass
yeah the game had a lot of potential
i remember getting to around level 66 i think in BC and dropping it, pve was so goddamn boring
same, i always felt awkward and everyone was weird. LFG had so much soul compared to queues, shame
south park was past its prime and this episode was a symptom
this
(I solved a really long captchta to write this)
As far I know WotLK was the last good expansion. Maybe because I started playing the game with this expansion
WotLK wasn't good tho.
Are there actually people who play WoW like in the episode? It looks like the most bare bones game and it seems to lack anything to strive towards long term.
Dopamine inducer. Loot treadmill. Some people are addicted to this shit
I used to play in vanilla and my enjoyment came purely from ganking and griefing people, sometimes by camping lower levels (especially in STV) and sometimes finding out vent info and fricking over raids. When BC killed world PVP it killed my enjoyment of the game
>I used to play in vanilla and my enjoyment came purely from ganking and griefing people
OK it is pretty entertaining to watch people get grieved in games like in:
no you wouldnt actually get xp from killing level 2 boars all day
>lack anything to strive towards long term
It's quite the opposite
When you buy a brand new game you're lucky to even get 1 or 2 weeks out of it
WoW on the other hand had people paying $15 extra a month just to play it and generally not even an entire year was enough time to do everything for the majority of players
The game "changes" heavily every year and a half or so but a large amount of players that played back in the 00s decade have considered the game basically finished for almost a decade now
>but a large amount of players that played back in the 00s decade have considered the game basically finished
That's because Blizzard ruined it.
>When you buy a brand new game you're lucky to even get 1 or 2 weeks out of it
The highest millennial attention span.
Oh, look. A Black person.

I had fun just hanging out in the barrens and shitposting in the barrens chat while larping as a blacksmith, gathering materials and smithing them, and trying to sell them in the horde city.
This was the best episode of South Park. It peaked and never was the same again.
Seeing video game footage on TV was a very novel and exciting experience at the time because TV was the more widely accepted, higher production value and generally respectable form of entertainment and being into video games was associated with being either a child or a stunted suspected pedo. This episode, X Play and similar shows seemed enthralling back then because you were seeing actual adults and tv anchor types discussing Halo and so on.
Insightful post. This is why we like having you boomers around
The main reason I started playing WoW was because barely a year before the South Park episode aired they did a full episode of Cheat on G4 dedicated to World of Warcraft
>For me, this episode of a TV show tricked me into thinking WoW was fun
WoW WAS fun.
Its not anymore.
I was raiding Blackwing Lair the night this episodes aired and I logged off teamspeak and exited game because other raiders were spoiling the episode in voice chat and ingame chat and it wasn't airing in my timezone until a few hours later
Stopped caring about this show probably only a year or two later but I enjoyed it for almost a decade before I stopped watching it
>fricking over your 40 man raid cause someone spoiled a tv show
This.
Imagine being in the trenches during WW2 and abandoning your brothers in arms because someone was spoiling the latest Chaplinslop
In that scenario where we're being shot at and dude won't shut the frick up he's getting shot in the back. Doesn't matter what they are talking about.
>fricking over
BWL was farm status and you could easily do it with 30 people if you really wanted to
Maybe when TBC came out. Not anytime beforehand.
All this tells me is that you played a shitty dps class that is brain dead to play.
that's like 80% of classes in vanilla wow raiding
I wouldn't know. I played the role of main tank in all our guild raiding.
WoW is fun if you actually make friends and engage with others. My problem: I was just as quiet, shy and lonely in the game as I am in real life.
Occasionally some guilds would PUG me into their raids 'cause they needed someone. Anyone. Those moments were so fun for me.
>just as quiet, shy and lonely in the game as I am in real life.
same. no internet or discuck friends either. the dots never connect. I legit have some kind of disorder
I've seen TED talks where game developers are tying to wrap their heads around players that treat massively multiplayer online games as single player one. You freaks don't make any sense to them either.
Old Republic was great for that though. It was a good even when playing alone. If you ever want a good time, playing the pure vanilla as a neutral good smuggler who tries to get laid every chance he gets. Tatoiine gets really interesting because there's a jedi and a sith chick. Usually you'd go with the jedi chick, but she's asexual while the sith chick is instantly flirting with you. I didn't even end up betraying the jedi chick. All I did was hesitate. That's what it took for her to consider it betrayal. Then I had sex with the sith chick, but she belittled me afterwards. I felt betrayed.
>I've seen TED talks where game developers are tying to wrap their heads around players that treat massively multiplayer online games as single player one. You freaks don't make any sense to them either.
Probably because they're midwits at the smartest, much like Cinemaphile. I'm one of those people that played MMOs like single player games and the answer is really simple: Most single player games don't have the amount of content that MMOs do. This has changed in recent times, but MMOs were always the games with the most content.
If someone wants to play a game for a year or years, then an MMO is what you need (or MOBAs, because I've played Dota all my life, and longer than I've played WoW).
If you don't like anyone, and I don't, then you wouldn't play an MMO to socialise.
>has played ASShomosexualS all his life
>calls others midwits
wew lad
>abuse pills and/or alcohol
I am ready to raid and talk in voice chat!
>try to play while completely sober
oh god
peter, if you're in this thread, remember how you were known as the wow guy. you'd play all night and sleep in class, that was funny.
Present
>This episode aired 17 years ago
>my age has more than doubled
Age 3 til 16 felt like such a long time...Years just pass by as if they were months nowadays..
Wait until you are in your 40s like me.
Makes it so funny when 20somethings act like they still got so much time to get their life in order.
No you dont, 1-18 is already about half your life, time starts moving so much faster each year from then on.
You are a doomer homosexual, but I think homosexuals like you are necessary, to like remind of how fricked I am at 27, turning 28 in 2 months, with no schooling, training, or work experience under my belt, instead of my parents, and physiatrist saying "it's never too late".
Euthanasia needs to be legal in every first world country
I joined the merchant marine at 30. Now I'm an engineer with a house and girlfriend. 27 is not too late to sort your shit out.
I accomplished more in one year when I was 24 than I ever did in my entire teens.
You're just a frickup.
Im 38. I came here first sometime in my early 20s. Where does all the time go bros?
It just confused me because human hunter wasn't a playable class.
Its so weird how WoW basically created a genre and then killed it by being too successful.
Basically every MMORPG after just copied it beat by beat.
>created a genre
WoW didn't create shit. It just became really popular.
Only weirdos played everquest or ultima online. WoW is what mattered.
Both of those games were incredibly popular. You just weren't born yet.
Netflix
if you are over 30 years old and still play WoW , you are a fricking lost cause.
t. longterm player from vanilla to tbc , then quit , baited by friends into mists of pedoria and there was nothing to do besides a shitty short raid , then do the same raid again , but this time ! ITS HArRDURR hurr.
fricking waste of time and money.
it´s really more of a sidejob than a game if you want to commit to it , otherwise dont fricking bother , its totally pozzed now full of gay troony shit and lore going nowhere , retconned etc.
jimmy status = rustled
I have a friend I met through d&d who is still playing WoW.
Not classic, but current WoW. I don't understand it.
>I don't understand it.
You must be young if you don't understand, or just an NPC. People go to work all their lives so they can stay alive and keep working, and you're surprised that someone could play a video game for their entire lives? The person playing that game (I'm that person) is just anti-society. If you think the real world is bullshit then you'll do anything else.
>You must be young if you don't understand
I'm older than you.
What I don't understand is playing WoW in its current form. Its fricking terrible.
>I'm older than you.
Are you? Are you proud of that? Reply after I filter the thread and keep in mind I have 90% of this board missing because I manually filtered all the threads, because they're full of people even dumber than you. Please doubt this is true.
Are you actually saying current WoW isn't bad?
And you dare to call anyone else stupid?
>The person playing that game (I'm that person) is just anti-society. If you think the real world is bullshit then you'll do anything else.
>anything else
maybe do something a little more beneficial with your time
WoW is lowest common denominator trash
>a TV show tricked me into thinking WoW was fun
It was, before it was pozzed and casualized.
wheelchair dragon sexo
troony game
>ywn go back in time to forget it all, go through it all except Cata again through MoP and quit when they fire the greatest warlock dev they've ever had just because he leaked one thing nobody cared about
>ywn make yourself see the signs there and quit, preventing years of cope
Good episode though.
Who gives a frick about warlocks?
Only homosexuals, the only bigger losers were ret paladins
Me and the boys were playing WoW at the time this episode came. Gen Z gays will never know the feeling.
