I would like to hear the writers of this scene actually try to explain how investing in various companies is a form of theft, or was Bane meant to be a moron?

      Anonymous

It's theft because they're literally not producing anything.

Even if we accept your moronic take, thats still not theft as they arent taking anything. Companies go public of their own accord and ask for outsiders to invest and these investors are motivated to due so on the idea that they will get a return.

seems like you’re the moron here anon

Its not that complicated dude, people invest in other companies for a share of it, and then that share either increases or decreases in value. Anyone from super rich people to college kids working at McDonalds can invest btw.

If you think about the system, it is quite farcical. By design the government dilutes the value of currency (ie inflation) to discourage people sitting on money lest the economy should enter a deflationary tailspin. But if the government can already (and willingly) print money at its whim then to what purpose do taxes really serve?

Pic related has a billionaire heir as part of the team and he gets extorted by some hacker terrorist in one of the seasons and basically has to give away his family's fortunes so some random village in the Middle East doesn't get BTFO by a hacked drone, I always though it was completely moronic how his fortunes were just sitting on his bank account instead of being tied up in assets and how it could just be transferred at a moment's notice as if the bank wouldn't be curious why presumably tens of hundreds of millions of dollars were being moved to an unknown account.

This is just like the bullshit in that show me robot where they can just "delete" the credit card debt. No, that doesn't work. They are going to use paper records, they are going to collect whatever evidence they can to get the money back that they are legally entitled to. They aren't just going to go oh well your account got deleted you don't owe us any money now I guess.

      Anonymous

that can happen, but it falls within the statue of limitations. it is the same as when a bank accidentally gives money to someone and then calls for it back. As long as the bank acknowledges that they lost money and are willing to pursue, then it is considered stealing to not pay back the bank

Credit card companies don't waste their time trying to collect from deadbeats. They package the debt and auction it off to debt collection agencies who then gain legal right to collect the debt and are the crazy buttholes who harass people on the phone.

Credit card companies don't waste their time trying to collect from deadbeats. They package the debt and auction it off to debt collection agencies who then gain legal right to collect the debt and are the crazy buttholes who harass people on the phone.

life pro tip: You can often negotiate your credit card debt down significantly (like half of what it is) especially if you offer to pay it in a lump sum. Debt collectors often buy your debt for a small fraction of what it was, and will take a lower amount just to be able to close your case and move on.

        Anonymous

Better pro-er tip: Demand proof they have the legal right to collect on the debt. It is very unlikely that they do. Debts are often resold over and over and the paperwork becomes lost and xeroxed 20 times with less and less information each time. There is a legal threshold they have to meet to prove the debt they claim is yours is actually yours. A simple piece of paper with your name with an arrow next to it with an account number is not sufficient evidence. If they send you a notice to judgement you have to respond because if you don't then regardless of the validity of the debt a court order will enforce it against you then you will have to pay it off no matter what.

But the better solution would also be to pay your bills.

Quick crash course, when you read that celebrity X has a net worth of $50 Million (assuming thats accurate) this doesnt mean that they have $50 Million dollars in their bank account. Also, big corporate big wigs often have a very low salary and charge everything on their business accounts. Jeff Bezos for instants has a salary from Amazon of like $80k a year. Whenever you hear some moronic Democrat talking about raising his taxes, they are going to raise it on that 80k, or the upper middle class bracket.

You know how back during the age of discovery Kings and Queens would use their massive wealth to fund overseas adventures in search of Gold and other resources? Well the new Dutch Republic came up with this idea that rich merchants could pool their money together to fund expeditions like this. The amount of money you contributed would guarantee you a certain percentage of the goods the expedition found which would be documented on a document noting your share in the loot. Dutchmen would then sell and buy the rights to these shares, ensuring they would get the allotted share of return, which lead to the Dutch establishing the first ever "stock market" which today is known as Euronext.

Thats basically all a stock market is. People who think its "theft" are beyond moronic and have had their brains scrambled by too much troony porn.

The top 10% own 93% of the stock market. Your 401k is dimes thrown out of a carriage.

Well then try getting good at investing and make some money to own more? I do it as a second job after my day job. I'm not even talking about 401ks. Wealth is there for the taking if you're motivated

Do you at all think widespread ignorance of economic matters, such as braindead leftoids in this thread thinking investing is "theft", has anything at all to do with these figures? That number used to be in like the 20% range until 2009

What percentage of tax receipts come from the top 10% of income earners?

              Anonymous

Income taxes are far higher than capital gains taxes, good point. The people who receive money from owning things get to keep way more of it than the people who receive money by doing things.

Or they are just poor. Like 10 percent own over 60 percent of the market. Most own none.

Did you watch this movie? Bane is a terrorist who makes speeches appealing to communist ideals in order to get the people of Gotham all worked up. Hes telling them what they want to hear in order to build a base of populist support when his real goal is mass genocide (just like Lenin or any other communist leader)
