Why would a director who can change the color palette of his film make the intentional decision to have a pleasant color like blue dominating the scene for a planet of bloodsucking birds and giant sandworms who eat everything when he can instead use bleaker earth tones to show off how fricked the planet is? Or is color theory to complicated for you? Do you only understand that the sky should be blue because the real sky is blue and therefore also blue in the desert? Correct. Tarsem Singh would have made an infinitely more captivating adaptation than DUNC. Only problem is it would have flopped much harder.
