It would be jarring and pointlessly expensive as hell to have different artists designing different worlds instead of, y'know, just having one talented guy with a cohesive vision.
He gave Salvador Dali and Orson Welles impossible promises that would've burned through the movie's already demanding and vague budget, all without the guarantee that the two would deliver on their end. Same with Mick Jagger

Of course Arrakis' sky is blue you actual waterhead, but that doesn't make the audience think of a planet devoid of life because a blue sky looks too familiar and appealing to them, which is not what the director was going for in his movie about an inhospitable desert planet.

Is English your second language, shithead?
Why would a director who can change the color palette of his film make the intentional decision to have a pleasant color like blue dominating the scene for a planet of bloodsucking birds and giant sandworms who eat everything when he can instead use bleaker earth tones to show off how fricked the planet is? Or is color theory to complicated for you? Do you only understand that the sky should be blue because the real sky is blue and therefore also blue in the desert? Are you so devoid of imagination that you can't fathom why someone would use dull colors to for a harsh landscape?

That's what happens when you show the sky that much. It makes the scene look too bright and vibrant anyway. You're also somehow still not getting the argument because you're too autistic about blue.

You're fricking with me right? Do you actually not understand that colors elicit emotional responses? Is that so hard for you to understand that I have to reiterate the point multiple times to drill it into your water-filled skull? Do you not get that having bright colors in a hostile environment doesn't make sense in a sci-fi film, especially if it's made by a director who makes moody, bleak films? Are you going to continue picking out random desert photos where the sky is blue as a showcase of how stupid you are or are you actually going to understand my argument?

And your argument is subjective and worthless, because individual opinions are worthless.
Bad and good is completely arbitrary and it's obvious that you're austistically set in your ways about this movie when you're looking for arguments to back up your preformed opinion of "Movie bad. Me no like. Movie ugly according to me." when that's a worthless metric because arbitrary reasons don´t mean anything.

Villanova's video game sensibilities ensured the property at least breaking even, the best that DUNC will ever do despite homosexuals claiming it's a supposed "cultural phenomenon".

would work great in a comic book or anime. Which makes sense since the comic book author who drew these along with Jodorowsky later ended up making comics after this project got canned (probably for the best as their own original ideas work better outside of Dune). These designs would clearly not have worked in live action and as another anon brought up the Sardaukar costume they designed looked unimaginative and gimp-ish and completely unlike the concept. Also you motherfrickers would have called it "israeli subversion" had it released the same way you lot talk about Star Wars.

Is the obsession with it seriously just because it's forbidden fruit? I'm positive people only want it because it doesn't exist. If it did exist no one would care.

This dune could be worse, it was better than lynch one to some degree, but i cannot understand all people that dont like jodorovsky vision. Its a fricking sci fi with numerous intresting concepts and prefered 2020 take is "lets make it realistic and dull".
Dune is a desert planet of one color, harkonens are black/white and artedies are spaniards. The only visual stimulating parts of both movies were harkonens and sardukar planet, everything in between must be minimalistic, no contrast colors, uniformed palette of grays and pukes. Its a shit, uninspiring take, good movies, books and music gives you inspiration, ideas, new concepts to juggle in your mind. Dunc 2 gave me flatulence and leg cramps. Still it wasnt as bad as 1st movie.
