Fat people are basically an oppressed group who are nevertheless an acceptable target because they come from all backgrounds and identities, so they're not protected by social pressures against bigotry like other oppressed groups are. In other words, you're allowed to make fun of fat people, so people do it a lot. Also they're ugly and people like to hate on ugly people.
On Cinemaphile, where the social pressure against bigotry is greatly relaxed, people accuse their enemies of being israeli or transgender for the same reason. I don't like you, ergo you're different from the rest of us. In polite society they have to choose more acceptable targets, so they accuse their enemies of being fat, ugly, and romantically unsuccessful.

        >Fat people are basically an oppressed group
The only thing keeping fat people down is their own weight.

I have a disease that makes me fat. If I starve myself to nutrient deficiency I still balloon up. I get why people treat me a certain. Why men make fun of me and women won't frick me. Nothing I can do but accept the ridicule because I look gross. But I don't have a choice in looking gross unlike a lot of other fat guys complaining. You shouldn't harass fat people but for their own benefit people need to find new outlets to help them out.

It's socially unacceptable for a man to be fat, fat eliminates what we traditionally see as masculine features and creates more feminine features like man boobs and fat thighs. Plus, all of these characters are shown obsessing over children's media, so not only are they fat they're also mentally moronic.

Do they have any skinny man-children characters? I feel like all man-children in media are either fat-nerds, successful gays, or obsessive and hide it under excessive normality.

Everyone has a reason to hate fat people. Politically right because they are weak losers, left because their a drain on health care resourses, and centrists because they're ugly.

Behold, the worst of the worst.
Near the end of the reboot of Reboot (which was eventually revealed to be a sequel to the Mainframe show, not a reboot) they had this guy who was clearly a shot at fans of the original who didn't like the new show... the neckbeard pictured here. Which is funny because I don't think a lot of the old fans even watched far enough to see this.
Anyways it makes no sense because he's got Reboot merch but they are simultaneously implying this guy was the "user" who controlled the player characters in the games in the original show. In which case he shouldn't even be aware of the characters from the original series, let alone have merch of them.
So it's simultaneously a butthurt strawman and a gigantic lore shattering retcon at the same time.
