this is probably the only movie I'll watch that gets released in 2024.

>Robert Eggers
>Eobert Roggers
I don't think it will be good, but I hope it is
So....just Dracula but bald
more like Rabbi Stein but bald
I might also watch this if it gets released this year
>A phantasmagorical fantasy nightmare set deep within a strange galaxy where two lovers are torn apart as they try to survive a malevolent invasion.
nepo babies the movie
>evil clown typecast actor with heckin spoopy eyes
>guy who got raped by Bryan Singer for roles
>Johnny Depp's ugly, untalented daughter
You couldn't pay me to watch one second of this slop.
Why not just watch the original?
I don't mind Robert Eggers, I think he's leagues better than Ari Aster or Ti West. But I think any one hiring Lily Rose Depp is making a mistake.
His movies were such great original fare, he basically broke all of the rules which made his filmography interesting. He cast a literal bogged prostitute and can't do the material better than the classics.
>I think he's leagues better than Ari Aster
Hereditary was good.
>any one hiring Lily Rose Depp is making a mistake.
Agreed. She has no range. I could see how she'd fit well in a gothic setting, but she won't do anything interesting with it.
>Hereditary
>Good
Filtered.
It was dogshit and you aren't good at watching movies.
It included several aspects that were legit Revelation of the Method and you're just another garden-variety normie.
If anything I find Aster's motives in making it suspect.
Filtered.
Aster isn't shit because Hereditary is shit. He's sus because it was too good. I wouldn't expect you to understand this though.
>He's sus because it was too good
You are bad at watching movies.
t. hapless midwit
>It included several aspects that were legit Revelation of the Method
Oh, Christ.
You have to go back, hun. Don't worry I'm sure there's some good tea waiting for you.
>You have to go back, hun.
To Reddit? You do realize Ari Aster is like Reddit's favorite director, right? He's like the essence of that site turned into a person.
>To Reddit?
To wherever you're used to posting sassy reactions about shit you don't understand. Twitter, I would assume.
You're the one talking like a gay while propping up the most Reddit director in history, not me. Have fun getting (you)s from others on this thread, I've no interest in feeding your delusions.
Running back to twitter, hmm?
>the most Reddit director in history
This doesn't mean anything when I'm talking about things that are spiritually sinister. If anything it tracks. Ghislaine Maxwell was one of the top Reddit mods for ages, remember. The former CEO Ellen Pao admitted in a gaffe on twitter to knowing all about her dark proclivities in dinner party circles that overlapped with hers. That goofy sociopath actually admitted this. Just because someone or something is "Reddit" that doesn't mean they don't harbor dark connections/agendas.
>spiritually sinister
You are actually homosexual.
You're low IQ. This confirms it.
You like Hereditary.
You don't get to insult anyone's IQ.
It's always funny watching morons announce that they're going to leave then my banter nervously compels them to stay. Get mogged b***h, I own you.
When did I say I was going to leave?
You being a moron isn't chasing people away, it's normal to see morons on this board. You just happen to be this biggest moron with the worst taste in movies in this particular thread.
go back
I can't I'm here forever. I wish I could.
What is there in Hereditary to be filtered by? The movie's like a slideshow of what Ari Aster thinks you'll be scared by, except none of it is scary and the movie fails at it's only purpose. Half the movie feels like he's leaning into your ear and asking if you're scared yet.
>Hereditary was good.
The only thing I liked in Hereditary was the scene toward the end when the naked brothers kid wakes up on the mother is subtly hidden in the corner on the ceiling. Then they fricked up it by having her spider crawl away. The rest of it was too far up it's own ass for me to enjoy it.
It was crap
Hereditary was very well made but its derivative plot held it back from being something truly special. The lifeless, indulgent and even more derivative Midsommer really exposed Ari Aster as a hack who got lucky.
yeah, no
Didn't Willem Dafoe play Nosferatu in the past once?
yes
AKSHULLY. He played Max Schreck, who just happened to be a real vampire in this movie
um, ACKSHUALLY Frankenstein was the name of the doctor!
fine. He played Nosferatu
>dockhand
I'll allow it
WTF, the movie leaked?!
>watch old movie
>disclaimer of lost pieces of footage
it's literally a rip off of bram stoker's dracula. I don't know why boomers jizz and crust themselves of it so much
The original Nosferatu has great aesthetics and was made in a time when modern type horror films were barely even a thing. They also shot it in many real locations, some very far out in, which also wasn't too common in those days. Producer Albin Grau was into all kinds of occult stuff as well. It's a really odd and fascinating movie actually.
Taking it on after Kinski shows some balls.
>Release date December 25, 2024
That's a confident release date, studio seems to be expecting a hit. There were some screen testings already w/ positive reactions
>You know what Christmas needs?
>FRICKIN VAMPIRES BRO
yes
It seems to be aiming for the couples' and 18-35 audiences. Anyway, it's a prime spot.
Bill Skarsgard was considered for the Harkonen prince in Dunc. He's not to shabby bald either
>Robert Eggers film with Willem Dafoe
should be kino
I didn't like The Northman all that much but The Witch and The Lighthouse were both good, so I guess I'll check this out. Hopefully Skarsgard looks better than that in the actual movie
>The Witch
really enjoyed that one.
>The Lighthouse
It was alright If yer fond of me lobster
>The Northman
Actually just got that movie for Christmas, it's pretty slow but I like viking related shit. I don't know if Ethan Hawke was the right choice though.
>>The Witch
Ralph Ineson was great in that.
That beginning scene where he tells the puritans to frick off with "I cannot be judged by false Christians" made me really enjoy his character. I hear people say they can't understand him, but I didn't think it was that bad, and I'd expect Massachussets/New Hampshire accents in that period would be pretty thick.
And Anya Taylor is a cute
>I don't know if Ethan Hawke was the right choice though.
He wasn't.
Evidence?
Looks like Billy Corgan circa Adore
There was already one excellent remake of Nosferatu. This is just pushing luck.
>Reddit Eggers
I swear if he puts more darts in his movie like in The Northman and the lighthouse...
did they really just paste transparent fangs on this guy? it looks really, really bad.
Okay so in this thread we've covered these basics
>Robert Eggers is alright
>Ari Aster is a homosexual hack
>one anon mention Ti West, I don't care his films personally.
But what of Fede Alvarez? I didn't care for Don't Breath but Evil Dead 2013 was one of the best remakes out there. It wasn't nearly as dogshit as other horror remakes.
looking zesty
