Fricking hell AI got some wit
Gemmy
woowww
first ai image to make me laugh
>black women is
Damn I didn't know Castlevania was a documentary
I don't care what your history books tell you, Simon Belmont was a black woman.
We wuz a miserable pile
Frick I’m scared for DMC. The only black guy there is is Morrison
>The only black guy there is is Morrison
NOT ANYMORE LMAO.
The Netflix show will make the 2000's anime look like a masterpiece.
not that I care, but $500 says Trish is black and everyone will seethe
Trish will be the same because she's Dante's mom in appearance, Lady is 100% gonna be Black though
They can’t make Trish black
Morrison in 5 was already a raceswap from the anime. The hilarious part is that they got a white dude to do his voice-acting in 5, but made him put on that old black guy voice.
There should be an internet challenge showing writers of video game adaptations playing through the games they write for.
We'd be able to meme about how many days it has been going because no one has actually completed it.
Paul W.S. Anderson would win every contest. He prepared for Resident Evil by booking a hotel room and playing Resident Evil 1-3 back to back. He had previously only played RE1 when writing the draft script which wasn't RE branded. He obviously played Mortal Kombat. And he was into Monster Hunter years before it was popular in the west, and was also a big Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker fan, which was the primary source of inspiration for his MH movie.
His unproduced Castlevania adaptation is a loose mishmash or Castlevania, Dracula, Queen of the Damned, and Van Helsing, but it seems obvious he played the NES/SNES games at least.
You have to do it on video for it to count. From start to finish.
In Anderson's version the main characters were Simon Belmont, his brother Cristof, their servant Vlas, a Moor, and the gypsy girl Aurica whom Dracula believes is his wife's reincarnation.
Simon dies in Aurica's arms after being stabbed by Dracula, Cristof dies after becoming a vampire, Aurica becomes lord of the undead because Simon fails to kill Dracula soon enough, and she takes Vlas as her servant instead of killing him. The story ends with Aurica in modern day New York waiting for Simon's reincarnation.
I personally feel that making new characters is preferable to rewriting existing characters into your OCs. The thing about Netflix CV is a lot of these characters are in-name-only versions. Ot's not just one or two, which is normal. It's a lot of them.
>Paul W.S. Anderson would win every contest. He play x, y and z
welp, that goes to prove that merely playing the game isn't enough.
Even video game “journalists” don’t play video games.
Should also start a challenge for that.
frick 🙁
It's legit amazing how many western IPs have just been irreversibly and totally sunk in the past like 10 years. Its truly insane, it's almost like a complete fricking genocide. I've never seen anything like it, suicide is another word I'd use. Its like a hemisphere wide mass cultural suicide.
and no matter what anyone says, it can’t be stopped or reversed. for the next 5-10 more years it’ll keep happening exactly like this, and totally failing.
Next up for the slaughter? Harry Potter. Can’t wait.
ah yes castlevania. a series known for its many black characters
Does Romania have any Black folk? Why would there be Black person and "native" (Native american wtf) vampires?
Nocturne isn't set in Romania. It's set during the Haitian slave revolts.
Why would there be Caribbean vampires, morons?
Because they needed to insert black people in it.
Just watch and find out, what do you have to lose?
Why the frick would any sane person waste time on Black person shit?
Why wouldn't there be Caribbean vampires when the show has constantly shown different ethnicities being Vampires before?
There are black people because there were black people in France during the revolution, because France was embroiled in slavery in the caribbeans since the 16th century, because it gives the story and the side characters a little bit more meat.
Haiti was in the control of the French, France was going through a revolution, Haiti decided to stand up to the colonizers, the show happens during that time period, in France.
You homies talking about "raping the source material" like it gave even the tiniest bit of shit about fleshing out of the rest of the characters.
You know what would be nice? A well written story written for its own sake and not for the sake good boy points and real life leddit updoots.
It's better than a lot of the FOTM stuff Cinemaphile praises sometimes, the only difference is that there are black characters with actual thought-out backstories instead of just being "well he's black because he's black!!!"
>somebody tell him that the majority of slave owners were mulattoes in Saint Domingue
Wait, so you're telling me I said colonizers referring to the French, and not white people? Oh my god! what a slip up! Next you're going to tell me the US independence wasn't the colonized rising up against the colonizers because they were also white?
white americans weren't "colonized", no. they are "colonizers".
although of course, black haitans are also "colonizers", literally, who ethnically cleansed the natives. so the whole use of the word in this context makes no sense. I assume you're just throwing it around as a provocative slur without actually understanding it because you're stupid.
Well, you're moronic, but that's a given here
Haiti was a colony of France, so the people who lived and were born there weren't French, they were not, and could not be, Colonizers. You can call them Settlers, maybe. The Haitian revolution happened in the tail end of the 18th century, while the colony had existed since at least middle-16th century. They were Haitians, born and bred, fighting against Colonizers, the French.
White americans were also settlers, but they are also a colony of the English, so they aren't colonizers
It's pretty easy. It sounds like you're trying to make my post into something I simply didn't type for brownie points. As I said before, the Haitian revolution was about colonized people in Haiti fighting against their French colonizers and getting independence. It doesn't matter at all what they did with that independence, what I said was about it happening during the same timeframe as the French revolution, making it relevant to the story they wanted to tell
>They were Haitians, born and bred, fighting against Colonizers, the French.
what the frick is this guy talking about? jesus, what a moron
>Haiti decided to stand up to the colonizers
somebody tell him that the majority of slave owners were mulattoes in Saint Domingue
my favourite part is where, after winning the revolution with the help of local whites who thought slavery was wrong, the blacks massacred all the whites who helped them and stole all their shit, then they turned their country into a moronic, hate-fueled backwater full of people genuinely deserving of all the dehumanizing invective behind the slur "Black person"
the genocide was pushed by Dessalines and his army and I don't think it was a popular measure among the black population
In general, Dessalines killed way more blacks than whites during the revolution; when he served under the french army even Rochambeau (who was racist and a hard timer pro slavery) was surprised by his brutality against the blacks.
Anon, please shut up and consume. Stop noticing, stop criticizing, stop complaining.
Nocturne is set in the French Revolution and French-Caribbean slavery is a large part of the plot.
oops
If you use netflix as male and single pls neck right now
Gamers are the most oppressed people in the world
If you told me twenty years ago some normalgays in the future would be celebrating Castlevania, a franchise I remember being about spooky castles, fighting ghouls and ghosts, and slaying vampires, would be celebrated for being written by black women and being inclusive of the black cultural and historical experience, I would be absolutely baffled.
How do the Japanese feel about their creation being hijacked into a story about black people?
>Their history
But it takes place in Europe, doesn't it?
>we wuz vampaya hunta n shit
This is Castlevania for a different audience it wasn't made for you nerds in my mind. No one cares about what video game incels when they make an adaptation, and what source material can you even make from a game with no words? This castlevania was fine, it wasn't super great but it was definitely enjoyable look past your racsim. Also you homosexuals are getting draft soon, this should be the least of your worries
>This is Castlevania for a different audience it wasn't made for you nerds in my mind.
Then quit getting so mad when we dunk on it.
>journalist reviews : 100
Why do they even bother pretending, just give it a perfect score without writing anything about it.
>has blakpipo : 100
It makes me so sad that Microsoft has already lobotomized DALLE-3. I guess we just have to sit around and wait for the next AI image generator to show up and then the cycle can start anew.
Are there any black writers who make anything besides "I'm black : the book"?
Isn’t Castlevania a bunch of Nintendo ds games from over a decade ago? What’s happening?
>have source material to make it well
>half ass the material and frick it up somehow
the absolute state of direction we need some frick gate keep that care for the source material to the t
Castlevania is about killing Dracula.
Why does a show about Castlevania have to be about black women and their history?
There are no black people in this game.
And that's NOT a good thing t. Netflix
>the vampires are black and the hero is a white guy with a whip
MIGHTY PECULIAR
Reminder that the show glossed over how mixed-race people were murdered as collaborators alongside Whites on Haiti.
How much you wanna bet that they ignore the fact that Toussaint himself was a slave owner?
