This is S.J. Clarkson director and writer of Madame Web

She has been a literal who tv director for twenty years and yet in spite of this she:

>was considered for James Bond
>was actually attached to Star Trek 4 at one point
>was considered for Guardians of the Galaxy 3
>was hired to make a GoT prequel pilot that was so terrible it was shelved

Why are studios like this?

There is a whole lot of boring mediocre uncreative untalented women directors and writers, and everyone wants to hire a woman to say you're hiring women. The pool of talented women is much smaller.

most of her stuff is rating 7/10 or above. you can't destroy her career just because you band together and rate it zero. her track record speaks for itself.

Was that the one that apparently cost $20 million to make? Imagine that. $20 million and you can't even get it green lit.

This chick, Nya da Costa and others have been irretrievably peter principled and Hollywood will think twice before handing out directorial duties on a diversity hire basis again

they'll continue to hire women directors but now they will be supervised on everything by a white male

I assume they'll do it less and less and whenever's a chick "directing" yes they'll be closely watched/guided by a responsible, sensible Caucasian adult

You just know she gets her work from just bugging the living shit out of people until they give in and give her a project to do.

Nepotism is a force stronger than gravity and that's why you see people falling upward in institutions all the time.

Directing a Sony superhero movie written by the guys who wrote Morbius.
    She didn't stand a chance.
Based on the work she done on TV she probably would have got on fine if it were a MCU show or movie even if it were the recent shit ones since there is still enough of a fanbase who support shit like The Marvels etc

IIRC she did do marvel shows, but they were the terrible Netflix ones like Jessica Jones

Wait, she's the one who did that? If that's the case I don't get why Hollywood still took a chance with her.

You're not seeing the point of hiring her. Sony wants to keep the Spiderman license. They have to keep pumping out Spiderman related shit or they lose it. You're going to keep seeing subpar Spiderman related shit until they just decide to sell the property back to Marvel. They hired her to make something to keep the rights. It wasn't about taking a chance, it was to maintain their position
