I don't think machine translations are very good. But the idea of a random anon willing to release a semi-readable scanslation should be a warning to Zeonic. Patience is not infinite. Other people will do it if he takes too long.

zeonic may have good translations but he's also a humongous arsewipe with ego the size of a colony so i'm happy to see other people working on translations, no matter the quality.
If his ego were that big, wouldn't he be overly concerned about download numbers, lack of discussion, or visibility of scans online then? I don't see any of that from the guy, but that's just the outside looking in.

I was part of the collective that paid him to privately translate Ghost and comparing both versions is literal night and day. There is so much fudged dialogue in Ghost that it's not even funny. It's so bad, it's like the whole Seven Seas "let's make this character transgendered" bad. Plus, the "translator" openly admits on Reddit that they don't even know Japanese in any capacity, so I mean, that is why we all asked him to do it anyways.
That's part of the reason why I asked him to do X-11 too. So, no, it's not an ego thing. It's about getting a good quality translation versus a piss ass "something is better than nothing". May as well just look at raws if that's the case.
