I want to like it but most of the characterization are just boring anime tropes to me (Jimmy is outright annoying, honestly, but part of that might just be his voice), the characters designs besides Lois' gigantic coat are very bland, taking characters that have unique origins with unique designs and making them tech-based lovers is a bad move. The artstyle also does not lend itself well to how goofy the show wants to be. Also most of the voice acting feels phoned in, as if they got VAs that usually do anime dubs instead of VAs who do work in shows of western origin.

Get that studio back together who made OPM season 1 and be like "it's Superman as a late teenager," so he's believably vulnerable/unfamiliar with just how strong he is, and tell them to go nuts. Specify we need 4 mini bosses and one planet buster at the end of the 24-episode season and it would be Superkino for the ages.

Was Dragonball the first to do that? It's been a while but I remember Goku's amnesia was established pretty much immediately, but they backfilled the stuff about him being a living weapon. Either way Supes is at his best when he's challenged so the "young Supes weak Supes" is the easiest way to make it believable, and it gives room for the series to grow into mid-20s Supes who has to juggle stitching the galaxy back together with being a salary man.
