It's only moronic if you're dumb enough to think that he's rotating the Earth to turn back time

You have a comic book flick about an alien guy wearing a red cape and spandex that can fly, shoot lasers out of his eyes, use x-ray vision, and blows ice-cold air. He can also hide his identity by simply wearing a pair of glasses. So how did you decide that turning the Earth to shift time is moronic?

He isn't turning the Earth to go back in time. Earth starts spinning backwards to show that he's reversing time. Donner really overestimated the audience

Maybe you're a normie and don't know this Superman, this is the "THE" Superman who would sweep Thanos, Darkseid and Saitama, his powers were absurd and DC called John Byrne to make a reboot in the 80s, the result is that Superman who gets beaten and dies at the hands of Doomsday, I would forgive James Gunn for all his capeshit sins if he brought this Superman back

The most kino version remains Golden Age Superman, imo.
In the Silver Age he could sneeze galaxies away and it became too silly.

Golden Age Superman was brutal. People b***h about MOS and what a brute Cavil’s Superman was. How would react to Superman hanging people out windows, ripping wings off airplanes and letting all bad guys inside crash to their death. Or throwing cars off of bridges

I fricking hated that scene from the series where they tried to homage the debut cover where Golden Age Superman destroys a car angry at the men that were inside.
In the series they replicate the pose, but Superman gentle lands the car down and goes to talk to some kids smiling. They wanted the cute version of the character while trying to homage the angry version.
Worse was seeing all the casual fanboys saying that the show was truly respecting the source material.

They did the same shirt for Superman Returns

Yeah. I get that the pose is iconic for the character, but the context of that pose is that the powerful Superman is wrecking the fricking car with his might angry because the passengers were awful people. He wasn't safe-guarding the car nor rescuing the people inside.

Yeah, same with Batman throwing crooks in vats of acid or snapping their necks.
But around the late 40s early 50 things started to change and by the 60s it was a different ball game.

Even as a kid I understood

The closer you fly to the speed of light, the slower time passes

At the speed of light. Time stops

If you go faster than light. Time goes backwards

Superman broke the laws of the universe to save Lois ..

    Because,he is, S U P E R M A N

      Anonymous

Except when he had to fly the OTHER direction to get the planet to not reverse backwards again. If he was using speed to reverse time, all he would have to do is just stop going fast.

That's not from The Last Jedi or any other movie made by that privileged white male Rian Johnson kek
