It's insane how likeable Bobby is compared to his actor, he's one of the nicest characters and then Steve Schirripa acts like an butthole you'd meet at a bar

Everyone says this but I've watched like 12 episodes so far and it's really not that bad. It's obvious Steve goes on stupid tangents sometimes but the podcast can be a decent listen in my opinion.

Its all part of the character and actor casting. Bobby seems like a tall teddy bear, but when they show him menacing, he pulls it off really well.

Casting director was probably looking for "butthole first, but tender on the inside"

Was Bobby ever an butthole? Even when he punched Tony he was super drunk and defending his wife being insulted.

        >I'd shoot myself, here, here, and here
Yeah Bobby could be a scary SOB when he needed to

shrippa the shit rippa is a huge dunce, he's like the quintessential wop portrayed on the show, completely devoid of any self awareness
he's also a huge kiss ass so he probably DID act like Bobby all through the casting process but let's be real....they probably just hired this homie for his fat ass...he grew into the role both figuratively and literally

The whole podcast genre of washed up actors trying to cling desperately to their former glory masquerading about talking about the show that put them in the spotlight is insufferable and unlistenable.

They were honestly trying to get the podcast over with midway through. By the time they were on the fourth season they were bringing in people who didn't even watch the fricking show. Michael probably fricking regrets ever doing this

I'm a podcast fan and sopranos fan. The comments about Schrimpa on this thread are dead on.
    >did you hufta read fur David?

On top of that it is pretty limited subject matter and half the time Imperioli seems like it is the last place he wants to be. Although that may a result of having to deal with Steve.

calling him a leftist barely scratches the surface
he's the type of neurotic who styles himself as a zen hippie, can't stop talking about how he meditates and is into buddhism and clean eating and shit
and beyond that he's the most pretentious type of midwit
