It rhymes
It does
>Anakin is tall
>Luke is short
Its like poetry
His mom is short (Natalie Portman). Both twins got that after her.
This gets said as a quote of Lucas often, but what he actually said
>This is like my half black children. They rhyme.
he didnt say that
That gif just reminded me that they still haven't done anything between Anakin's ghost and his kids.
That fricking orange Mary Sue gets to have a fricking lightsaber DUEL with Anakin's ghost before Luke or Leia even gets to talk to him. I hate it.
Because the deepfake/CG ain't there yet and is far too expensive. They're also too afraid to recast Luke and Leia to get those scenes done cheaply.
More like they just don't give a shit about any of the actual characters people like because they know they can't write them well.
i need them to frick me at the same time
Ben Solo looks like Harrison Ford knocked up a Skywalker
Adam Driver looks like Harrison Ford sans a couple of chromosomes.
This is clearly from the time when feminists actually liked being women.
CUTE.
Dewey?
They look nothing alike. And Anakin should have been far older before his fall. He'd have looked far more mature than Hayden as men did back then
The prequels made everyone far younger than you thought they'd be.
>And Anakin should have been far older before his fall
THANK YOU. I feel like I'm the only person in the universe who gets the fundamental flaw in the prequels: Anakin is too damn young throughout the whole thing. He should've been a young man (Luke's age more or less) in Episode I and a full-grown adult in II and III instead of being a manchild.
He was 19 in AoTC and in his 20s in the TCW and RotS.
Anakin was only 22 in RotS, so Vader in ANH is 41
Phantom Menace would have been largely fixed just by having anakin be older yes.
Just start with AotC and then watch the Clone Wars.
>watch the Clone Wars
Gross. Watch the miniseries and read the Dark Horse comics instead, they're way better.
Clone Wars: Refocused re-edits the entire show for better viewing. It cuts out all the kiddy shit to make it more palatable for older viewers.
https://originaltrilogy.com/topic/The-Clone-Wars-Refocused-COMPLETE/id/80467
>THE CLONE WARS: REFOCUSED presents the entire Clone Wars as a complete series of five seasons of about ten TV-length episodes each. Now structured and presented with the conventions of a more mature modern TV drama, it tells the complete narrative of the Clone Wars, retaining all the most important and enjoyable elements of the show, whilst trimming a vast amount of the weaker content, saving you over 17 hours total while still telling the same core narratives. Episodes have been refined, refocused, reordered and recontextualised to maximise story quality and viewer enjoyment, both for the show’s own complete end-to-end story, and for those seeking a supplement or introduction to new canon like the Mandalorian, Bad Batch, and wider Filoniverse.
>I just fricking watched the entire fricking clone wars kiddy shit and all
>Have to send a fricking DM for the download link
Why are star wars fans such huge fricking homosexuals?
Why are you sending anyone a DM to watch TCW of all things?
Why didn't you just torrent it?
TCW is literally babby's first Star Wars.
Meanwhile, in the Dark Horse comics:
republic comic was rad as hell
the jabiim arc is pure kino, honestly abhorrent that disney had the gall to pilfer the name for their obi wan show and didn't even reference anything that happened
>honestly abhorrent that disney had the gall to pilfer the name for their obi wan show and didn't even reference anything that happened
Felt the same knowing they took the Tales of the Jedi name and used it for another Ahsoka wankfest.
This seems better but I still can't get past that awful artstyle.
What’s wrong with it?
It's all personal nitpicks, so there's nothing really wrong with it on a fundamental level if you like how it looks.
I simply dislike how uncanny everyone looks. The blocky, angular and sharp details on the characters look like they were made for a 2D cartoon rather than a 3D one and it just caricaturizes them in a way I don't think looks good in 3D.
Another one is that every texture looks sandpapered or worn down, even skin. It feels off.
And while not attached to the artsyle per say, I will say that I also hate how overanimated everyone is. Nobody can stand still while talking and it's like they're trying too hard to pantomime in order to keep your attention. It's obnoxious to me.
>Nobody can stand still while talking and it's like they're trying too hard to pantomime in order to keep your attention
I've noticed this, too. I wonder if this was a response to all the backlash from the "boring" political walking and talking scenes.
The style and animation starts getting better as the series goes on. It’s actually at its worst in the movie.
>includes Ahsoka
yep, that's gonna be a cringe from me.
genndy wars will always reign supreme.
What about the novels? Heard Labyrinth of Evil was great.
That's a great novel, I'd recommend it as well as the actual RotS novelization.
I like to recommend the miniseries and the Republic comics as the foundation for the old Clone Wars continuity because it pretty much covers most of the would-be important bits regarding the progression of the PT's story. Everything else is a bonus.
Wish somebody can take advantage of ElevenLabs to make Full Cast audiobook adaptations of these books. Can either have Ewan and Hayden or James and Matt “reprise” their roles as Obi-Wan and Anakin.
?si=SBrxL5-Ie__zDNjd
I'll never get why they tried so hard to make Anakin act and sound like Han Solo with Matt Lanter.
They really wanted the audience to root for Anakin and overcompensated. They rewrote his character to be a swashbuckling Chad jock which while contradicting his portrayal in the prequels, it also keeps his character in line with how he’s described in the OT.
Imagine the Darth Bane Trilogy with “Mark Hamill” as the character. He voiced him in TCW. https://youtu.be/IkWmr4ltOZw?si=ujj1P1oTOg6PxeiG
Good lord, I remember the Darth Bane trilogy being so good. It's amazing how many awesome things can be done when a creator clearly respects the original material and does his research.
Stover's books (Shatterpoint and RotS novelization) are top tier for me, Yoda's book is good afaik, Luceno is also a good choice, he usually writes quality stuff. If I remember correctly, Republic Commando books were all right also.
The ROTS novelization is god-tier, and Stover somehow managed to turn Lucas' shit writing into gold.
All of Luceno's Clone Wars books are great and Labyrinth of Evil is the most accessible one. Yoda: Dark Rendezvous is a little weird but pretty good, Jedi Trial is boring.
the age is irrelevant. darth was a military man, a prussian officer that demanded obedience. hayden looks undisciplined and generally not being material for generalship
>grown ass man throwing hissy fits
Nah Anakin was the right age as a young adult who wasn't mentally matured and was easily manipulated by the dark side.
Having a grown man doing any of what Anakin did would be cringe as hell.
I thought the sith were essentially the religion of edgy-teenager mentality. I'm pretty sure in ROTJ Palpatine had a Reservoir Dogs poster in his throne room.
Anakin was always Obiwan's pupil so he was supposed to be younger
>They look nothing alike
There's one of you gays in every thread and no one will ever bring out the protractor for you
Uncle Ben should have been Anakin's clone.
Apparently, he was originally meant to be Obi-Wan’s brother until Attack of the Clones made them unrelated.
Internet nerds say Owen was Obi Wan's brother in the novels. It makes a lot more sense than the convuluted crap Lucas replaced it with.
It actually came from the Return of the Jedi script, but it didn’t make final cut.
They effectively are brothers, they were both supposed to be trained by their "father" Quigon
>Uncle Ben
>Ben Kenobi
How did I never realize? Maybe Obi-wan was supposed to be Ben's clone.
Suppose they reboot the OT, who would YOU cast to play Luke and Leia? Remember, this nuOT is being made with the Prequels, Clone Wars and even Rebels in mind. Meaning the first movie would function as a sequel to Revenge of the Sith. That also means that Ewan and Hayden can reprise their roles here.
>Remember, this nuOT has to be garbage
for what purpose
Why should the prequels and the Clone Wars be ignored? Why not include elements from them to the nuOT and enhance the world?
I have no idea. I mean Luke could be played any young guy I guess. However there aren't any Carrie Fishers around nowadays. They'd probably cast some typical ingenue with none of Carrie's uniqueness which I can't even really put into words.
How bout this guy for Luke? Dude was in Cobra Kai.
Zendaya as Leia, realistically.
Anakin and Padmé are white though.
I'd call the first movie, The Star Wars.
Should've separated the two eras as The Star Wars for the OT, and The Clone Wars for the Prequels. In fact, the first prequel should've been the start of the Clone Wars.
They already rebooted the OT and called them "sequels"
How bout taking out all the incest?
>Remember, this nuOT is being made with the Prequels, Clone Wars and even Rebels in mind.
Here you go
How bout including Mara Jade so Luke can actually get some poon in his fricking trilogy?
Why is Luke a manlet? Is he really Obinwank's son?
wait what? how the frick does right makes for a good young darth vader? he lacks any of the military discipline required
He has that in TCW.
this is what a credible anakin would have looked like instead of a fricking hippie robe-wearer
looks like a girl
>this looks like a girl but long-haired hayden doesnt
anon do you have relationships with women and sex with men
The transition to Vader would have been seamless too.
You get that in TCW.
And it was unironically terrible.
You'd think that the council in the movies would never let someone like Anakin have that much responsibility.
Why was it terrible?
Anakin is seen as a trusted hero in the clone wars yet they still act like he isn't trusted enough or ready to be a master by the time of RotS? That alone should take anyone with a triple digit IQ out of it.
He couldn’t become Master because Ahsoka left. Jedi Knights require their Padawans to become Jedi Knights to be considered for the promotion.
Oh bullshit, let's not act like anything in Episode 3 has to do with Ahsoka.
It’s called a retcon. Fiction does it all the time.
And it's one of the worst retcons in Star Wars.
Trusted hero? Lmao there is an entire arc where Obi-Wan fakes his death and the council doesn't tell Anakin. They never fully trusted Anakin. They loved using him for the war though.
Trusted enough to be given his own padawan.
A Padawan that was a problem child herself. Anakin even tells her that she wouldn’t have made it as Obi-Wan’s Padawan.
There was literally no reason for her to be a problem child, though. Wasn't she taken in as a toddler that could barely speak?
Why wouldn't she be like all the other kids that grow up in the Order?
Personality traits are genetic. She’s just like that. You can force a kid to behave a certain way all you want, but the shit that makes them them will always be absolute.
And who did Ahsoka get these traits from?
Her family. One’s genetic code has copies of their entire ancestral line. Genetics are a lottery. The genes that one has are a randomized assortment from the traits of their ancestors.
And is any of this in the films?
No?
Not canon.
It’s called real life, dude. That’s how genes work in the real world.
It's called shit writing and irrelevant to what actually matters to the Star Wars narrative.
Fun Fact: Anakin and Obi-Wan fighting on Mustafar was always gonna be a thing even as far back as Return. The difference was that he was supposed to be submerged in the lava, but that would've been moronic because he would've fricking died. So Lucas changed it to him getting burned by the flames instead.
Once again morons can't even recognize who Anakin is as a character and make up their own headcanons TO THIS DAY. Did you dummies watch ROTJ with your eyes closed? Anakin is a pathetic slave to Palpatine. He is a completely broken man.
>"There were no auditions; everything was done by meetings. It was basically sitting down for 20 minutes to two hours and finding out who they are as an actor and what experience they have. Hayden Christensen had two of the characteristics that I was really seeking for the character of Anakin: he has the vulnerability, and he has the edginess that's needed. We had to have that combination, and it's rare to find an actor who can go back and forth so well. There is something so interesting going on behind those eyes; you just want to know more." - Robin Gurland
OP's gif demonstrates this pefrectly: Anakin's eyes look sad, broken, unsure; Luke is tired but despite that he is lively, confident, unbroken. Just by looking at them you know who they are as characters: Luke is going to make the right choice and Anakin will not. And yet they look extremely similar, like they could be related. It's magnificent.
I would have aged Anakin up a few decades and made Obiwan his pupil. Anakin would have played the role of a Marius like figure who crosses the rubicon and is the cause of a significant fracture between Jedi loyalties. Yoda would have been a much more hubristic figure kinda like Marcus Crassus
A New Hope established that Anakin was his pupil.
Frick this Anakin's age shit, they should have let him take Dooku's cloak as a trophy.
Was that intended or just your headcanon?
It was intended at first. Concept art.
Its literally in the concept art for Episode 3 lmao, I know its from the book but I just now recognized the cloak holy shit.
yes
Wonder why they never tried to get the OG actors in the prequels somewhere. Like Carrie Fisher as Padme’s mom or whatever.
Carrie and Mark were both fat blobs when they were making the prequels. Disney forced them to get into better shape
>re-watch EPII and III
holy shit.
how I not see this. It's not shit acting at all.
Hayden was mimicking Mark's mannerisms from EP V and VI
my entire reality is wrong. I'm so sorry prequelgays.
It’s like poetry, it rhymes.
Can't tell if this is sarcasm or not
But yeah Hayden has said that he took from Luke/Leia/James Earl Jones/David Prowse. He wanted Skywalkers to feel like a family. I think he said that during one of his Kenobi interviews.
peak flow
He almost had a ponytail.
>and this... this is what I call femboymaxxing
God I wish I could pull of that hairstyle
I've thought about making this exact thread, but mentioning Portman too.
I like Hayden but he's way too good looking. Am I seriously supposed to believe that Hamill and Fisher are his kids?
That last second beating he gave Padme before fighting Obi-Wan did a number on them.
Not just his kids, his and Hershlag's kids.
Don’t forget Padmé.
Both Hamill and Fisher acknowledged the fact that they are ugly compared to their film parents. But personally Mark was very attractive before his accident.
At least their chins are similar.
Especially since Anakin’s supposed to be Force Jesus, so you’d think his kids should look pretty damn good given their pedigree.
I added Hayden to Mark's face and Natalie to Carrie's.
that's how they should look in comics and on book covers
nice
For anyone wondering why Lucas included top scene. Cuz father/son pottery, that's why.
Are you Anakin or Luke, Cinemaphile?
The one who fricked up or the one who undid your parent's frick-up?
pre-jedi Luke at the moisture farm getting yelled at by my uncle and haggling with jawas
Dunno what they did with deepfake Luke but damn he looks great
That haircut on Luke sucks. Makes him look like a total dork.
Luke /is/ a dork. But I guess his hairdo could have been better, yeah. Never thought about it.
