You're not allowed to criticize the cat movie because it has cats and even though nobody remembers anything from the cat movie it has cats and OMG CATS!!!1
What a bizarre criticism. I have never once heard anyone claim that the movie is good because it's about cats.
moron
You guys are so cool for hating a well liked thing.
Why is this such a common response on Cinemaphile nowadays? I know we're infested with Redditors and normalgays but holy shit it's not bait anymore you genuinely don't know where you are.
Cinemaphile isn't like what you heard in your youtube video essays
Cinemaphile users don't automatically hate everything, and hating things isn't a personality
You're not helping the allegation that you don't belong here.
Funny thing is i'm not even the person who you initially replied to lmao, you are so newbie you don't even know writing style variations
If you are here post-Trump's 2016 like you are you don't belong here. You are probably still posting memes that youtubers told you in the 2020s like hating calarts
>I'm not the person you replied to chud! Election tourist! Never mind I'm talking like a R*dditor right now I'm just gonna keep acting like a wienergargling homosexual because I epically owned you incel!
>R*dditor
>"*"
>Typical pro-israel "woke" talking points
Go back
>maybe I'll fit in if I post weebshit
Once upon a time, before 2011 I dare say, Cinemaphile really liked talking about basically all animation and seemingly loved everything. Even when bait happened, people asked for "Really? Tell us, what did you dislike?" sort of arguements. It became too much (I personally blame SU, but others will blame Horse Show) that it just became cool to hate all popular things making Cinemaphile the cartoon version of Cinemaphile.
You speak like an industry person who disregards the perspective of everybody besides your fellow animation careerists who posted anonymously back then
Another opportunity to network and strengthen connections
Coping with giving up on your individual personality, opinions, tastes, etc. people come unique by default and need to learn how to suck up to Hollywood types
You careerists just forget about all the negative feedback because remembering it's bad for your career
waaaaah
Fortnite is a well liked thing
This is forgotten outside of the animation community
Projecting
When you say "taste" you mean the sensibilities of Los Angeles industry people, not being knowledgeable of classical Golden Age cartooning or whatever
What did you think of Garfield The Movie I mean The Garfield Movie?
Different guy: I love cats, never liked any VA other than Music for Garfield. Everyone else sounds just...wrong and bad. Get someone to mimic Music first, and then we'll talk. Also...what are the odds of both Garfield's parents having the same fur pattern? Implied incest is STRONG...
Wrong.
You have no soul. Last Wish had beautiful animation, incredible worldbuilding, and was an all around thriller. Loved it.
it's not a puss in boots movie
Kinda hard to have rigid franchise standards when your franchise only has 2 movies. Thats like saying Terminator 2 isn’t a Terminator movie the day after it came out
I wonder if anyone said that given it’s so finally different.
It’s more of an adventure than a survival horror
They didn't even try to be consistent with the original and just did a soft reboot instead, puss and kitty are unrecognizable
To be fair, there is kind of a huge time gap in between.
Ones about the very start of his career and the other is him so old he’s considering retirement and facing mortal panic
PiB and TLW should've been its own continuity instead of trying to ride on Shrek, Puss goes from being the MC to Shrek's sidekick to the MC again to Shrek's sidekick in Shrek 5
Eh, it's simpler that way, what he was up to before shrek, what he's up to after shrek, and a tv series that knows it'll never be canon so it cleans up after itself and retcons is own existence in the finale.
Didn't shrek 4 introduce the idea of alternate universes before PiB was made
In a sense.
It's part of the twist/source of conflict that he didn't actually create a parallel universe, just changed the past so that Shrek was never born.
You need to be at least 18 to post here
>I just saw this thing and it fricking S U C K E D
Agreed, Puss is the the type to suck wiener and clits
The sad truth is that roughly 10% to a quarter of the reason everyone jacked it off to that extent was because it was a good chance to shit on Avatar 2
It's a fine movie, but people have this habit of trying to find underdog works and praising it to hell as a way of being unique because they "discovered" some hidden gem no one else knows about. It eventually blows up and everyone moves on since it lost that underground secret movie status.
Yeah and a big part of Puss N Boots 2 was Avatar 2 being the competition
The movie was so good it had to be saved from flopping by 1 or 2 furgays begging other people to watch it
Being real for a moment, another reason it got praised up is that furry lusting became mainstream acceptable it has Death (essentially male Loona) and an more furry Puss design and both are very popular in furry smut circles
The wolf’s whole thing was so cringy. LAME whistling motif. LAME edgy cape and red eyes. LAME homosexual lisp voice acting (seriously am I the only one who heard that). LAME obvious zoophilic design; didn’t look like it and Puss were from the same movie. LAME zoomerspeak (straight up, yo).
But you see it uses variable frame rates to make the visuals interesting
Occasionally and looks like standard CG slop the rest of the time.
Semi-related, people were glazing Kung Fu Panda 4 earlier despite it doing nothing new outside of making Po 10% less insufferable.
True words
I unironically hated everything about it and was waiting for it to 'get good'
infantile teletubbies reddit writing is the new standard for modern games and movies though
>
Best character of the movie, loved how his entire thing was mocking Disney for doing too many "tragic" villains by making him completely irredeemable.
if he was the main character it would've been a better movie
Why does he have an uwu for a face
I liked the first one better. I miss the egg.
I hated the opening song
I hated the puss vs giant fight scene
I hated the spanish splinter
I hated the doctor
I hated the wolf/death
I hated the cat lady
I hated the mexican dog
I hated the bears and goldilocks
I hated the last wish magical forest
I hated the ending
I hated this movie
You liked when it ended. Checkmate!
Why?
It wasn't bad, but to many people loved it because it represented their own anxiety and neurosis pretty well.
Cinemaphile loves all things fujoshi coded
Movie was a solid 7 or 8 out of 10 for me, overhyped but I can see why some people loved it so much espcially considering what else came out around the same period.
Pretty much. Good but nothing truly outstanding. Same as most of the stuff people hype up as the new best thing ever.
But did it have a realistic depiction of a panic attack?
So was the mocking of the panic attack "trend" on Cinemaphile making fun of articles like this? Because the actual scene itself was fine
>Because the actual scene itself was fine
it was cringe and unnecessary
'm-muh mental health!!' trends in modern animation is so fricking insufferable
Yes it’s mainly how news articles and especially the twittergays kept circlejerking about the character having a slight panic over possible death as this heckin impactful moment
Yeah, the scene was completely fine in the movie
the people obsessed with it are moronic
You have to keep in mind nobody on this shithole leaves their apartment and most can't even leave their chair, so they've never had a panic attack.
>this movie is GOOD because the characters are MENTALLY ILL and UNSTABLE like ME!
Would you care to actually explain why you didn't like it instead of posting what's probably an extremely low quality troll thread, OP?
it's subjective, but for me every character was unlikable especially the dog. wienerney goldi was painfully unfunny and the whole last wish premise just wasn't very good to begin with.
If you can wish for anything why not just wish for omnipotent powers then grant yourself whatever wish you want for the rest of your life?
My wish is for the writers to remove the dog, remove goldi and the bears and remove the wolf and 'puss only has one life omg panic attack' stuff
and just have puss vs kitty vs purple thumb guy in a rat's race for macguffin with twists, turns and action
I like how even when you criticize something on Cinemaphile people ask you to elaborate even though you literally just said why you didn't like it.
she was so cute bros
>*Has a realistic depiction of a pabic attack at you*
What now, Op?
It was good. I don't know if I would quite call it a masterpiece but it's very well-made and full of memorable moments.
Boy I sure love how every thread is just OP samegay spamming now because there's no IP counter anymore. Thank you hiro and RapeApe, you stupid homosexuals.
I’ve only posted three times, gay.
Why did they even remove it tho? Now it's harder to call out samegayging
It wasn't the masterpiece people made it out to be nor was it the garbage you made it out to be. It was alright.
Yea
It was an ok sequel that was still inferior to its decent original that could've significantly enhanced with animation more like the firm film in an era of endless slop. Of course it was praised
The original Puss was a snore fest, anything is an improvement over it. Imagine spending a 3rd of your runtime front loading the world’s lamest backstory for your main character
I have ADHD btw
We know moron
They have arrived
I hate the new art and animation style, it's too much like modern Disney.
The humor was off. It was the quirky hyperactive type of humor that you see a lot nowadays. I wasn't a fan of the dog. Donkey felt more tolerable and he's intended to be annoying.
Puss' characterization also felt off. He's way too high off his own farts at first and then he's having panic attacks and anxiety. Lately more and more media has been emphasizing anxiety, depression, panic attacks and other mental problems. So it feels wrong mostly because it wasn't there in the original Shrek universe.
All this considering I still thought that it was good but it doesn't feel like it belongs in the Shrek series and I hope that they don't make new Shrek movies in the same style, or new ones in general because the series should have ended with 2.
Agreed
They're chasing the narrative of "here's the next big thing for animation and a new era has started now!' because it would be good for their careers / fandom participation without actually doing what it takes to earn it.
Cinemaphile once again proves they're all contrarian b***hes and tasteless homosexuals
>Cinemaphile once again proves they're all contrarian b***hes and tasteless homosexuals
Reminder: there are people on this site, this board, and even in this very thread, who unironically care what "people" on Twitter think and let it influence their own thoughts.

I think it became cool to hate on this movie when the panic attack scene became overrated, before that Cinemaphile had no trouble in enjoying this movie.
It’s becoming obvious summer break is starting up as the quality of this board hits rock bottom once more.
Frick the haters. Perito was ok, KSP's new design was pretty good, and Mama was hot as hell...for a bear. Don't care about Goldi. Overall the movie was pretty good. Didn't like the Spider-verse-esque low fps action scenes, though.
>KSP's new design was pretty good
Why lie
It wasn't BAD, just more...homogenous. It matches the art shift. She looked ok. I understand dudes having a crush on her but she's got that annoying latina voice going, so I ain't stanning for her.
What's wrong with her voice
Sounds like an old woman, and not in a hot way.
I didn't think she sounded old in the first movie
People age, shocker, I know.
Idc about tlw kitty
I did not just hear Salma Hayek get called annoying. Although if your only exposure to her was PiB, then I'd get it. Damn near everything else she was in she was more seductive and shit. But not so much anymore now given her age (she still looks great though)
Yeah, that was my only experience. I'm not some hormone-addled idiot who watches movies because "that chick in it is sexy as hell!" (I find that about as pathetic as people who have favorite porn stars), I really have no reason to watch anything she's in. I watch things because the premise is interesting, not for who's in it.
Why do people have such a viscearal reaction to things being overhyped and praised that they go the completely opposite direction?
Movie is completely fine, but not as good as everyone makes it out to be. On the same token, it isn't an irredeemable piece of shit either.
Contrarianism is a powerful thing. Never doubt a person's need to feel special and unique. It can override all rationality.
my wife wasn't in it.
>inb4 she appears on PiB3
It would be nice for one dreamworks show to count as canon.
Yeah, pretty sure that's the meme
What is the original picture that this is based on? Is it that franzj picture?
our queen
...and who is she supp-...? Wait, don't tell me you think Dulcinea is supposed to be in the mainline stuff. Didn't you learn anything from the Kung Fu Panda and How To Tame Your Dragon franchises? Everything, each separate tv series and the movies, all exist in their own universe. The movies are continuous, each tv/streaming series is self-contained and has no continuity with any of the others or the movies, and as far as the movies are concerned, they never happened. They are basically fully produced fanfics, but without the usual clumsy, weak white guy somehow getting isekai'd into that world to learn Kung Fu and somehow make Master Tigress fall in love with him, or learning to be the best Dragon Rider that ever was. Abandon the series, good though they were, when you see the movies. None of them are canon, and you will never see those characters again.
THE FRAMES ARE DROPPING DURING AN ACTION SCENE OH MY GODDD IM COOOMINNNNGGGGGG
While I liked TLW, I don't get why this is a thing now, I find it too distracting.
Spider-verse did it, and since Spider-verse did well and nobody knows why, they mimic everything about it they sensibly can to hopefully stumble upon some magical, money-producing element.
OK homosexual what movies do you like?
Astroturfing does wonders.
Anyone who doesn’t like what I like is a contrarian.
Poasting in an amazing thread, probably a candidate for TOTY.
