No one asked for this in the comics either and they shoved her and other characters down peoples throats to the point that comic book sales have cratered in the past decade. 2023 saw comic book shop closures at levels not seen since the crash of the '90s. Disney didn't learn from the comics industry and doubled down on the stupid decisions.

I mean the entire comic industry isn't dying, it's been dead for 30 years. It's now just a retro hobby shop. Batman makes up like more than 80% of all comic book sales across the entire industry, that includes marvel. So the reason why they need to replace heroes with different characters is because nobody reads anything else.
Every new hero gets cancelled. It's somehow propped up from god knows where. Individual manga issues outsell the entire industry regularly

This 100%. It's not because of "wokeness." It's throwing something out, hoping something, anything, sticks. Comics are looking for their next Batman/Spiderman.

People want new stories and characters. The problem with comic book is that they keep recycling the same old characters.

The problem is they keep trying wokeness constantly. They aren't throwing whatever they can think of at the wall. They're exclusively throwing wokeshit at the wall.

Yes. The peak for comic books was 1994 or 1995, then the collectibles industry collapsed and comic books, toys and cards started to drop in sales. The low point was around 2002 and then it bounced back a bit and plateaued thanks to the internet and stuff like eBay. It started dropping again around 2012 but sales are still above 1970s levels. They're never going back to 80s or 90s levels though. Manga sales are a meme because libraries buy a good portion of them because they are basically children's books and attract Zoomers to libraries. Trade paperbacks of comics get the same sales bounce because of libraries and that's probably what keeps them out of the red. Nobody buys Ironheart comics, but I guarantee you that every library buys a copy of the trade for diversity reasons. Nobody reads it, but it's in the library.

That's pretty miniscule. Thought it would be bigger. The top ten New York Times bestsellers by themselves sell around 20 million units a year. Comics and Manga really is a niche market. If Manga were really super popular the shonen jump sales wouldn't be so paltry in America. Even in Japan, they're seeing a huge collapse in sales for the weekly mags. Also never underestimate the power of trendy NPCs who will buy a manga or book because it's the source material for the flavor of the week media sensation. I know countless people who will buy the book of something because it was turned into a movie and then only read one chapter and leave it to collect dust.

The white majority of the U.S. built the industry, and that is their main audience, and the fact they refuse to cater to them is exactly why people stopped buying tickets to their woke anti-white, anti-male trash.

It became a niche thing sustained by die-hard fans and marketing ploys and gimmicks.

For instance they keep rebooting flagship titles so people keep buying the No1 issue thinking it's going to be a collector's item and pricey in the future. That kind of thing.

Can someone go call out the Youtube e-celebs proclaiming that the Creative Committee would've prevented Feige from going the woke route? They seem to be unaware that the creator of Ironheart was on the Creative Committee.

          Anonymous

Yeah, namely Andre of Midnights Edge, who portrays the Creative Committee as a Council of Wise Elders when they were in fact idiots, and one of them was Brian Michael Bendis. Indeed, we are very much in the "Bendis Era" of the MCU now:

          > Ironheart
          > Secret Invasion
          > Ruining Wanda
          > Forced diversity
          > Broken Continuity

          It's pretty much the Bendis-CU.

            Anonymous

I like Andre but i agree, it annoys me watching him and other people proclaim that the Creative Committee would've prevented it

Ironheart would've been pushed into the MCU even if the Creative Committee had control because like you said, one of the Committee was Brian Michael Bendis, and he helped create the character and was pushing the character himself in the comics he was writing. Every single Youtuber has to be seriously deluding themselves if they complained about Ironheart and think the Creative Committee would've prevented her from being in the MCU. The other person on the Committee was Joe Quesada who mandated One More Day maintained in place.

Wakanda's a cool concept, but how much cooler would it have been if instead of slapping traditional and hoenstly stereotypical African elements onto a cyberpunk city. It's not like modern day metropolises in the west just look like futuristic medieval castels, and Shanghai doesn't just look the forbidden city with a bunch of neon lights and generic monoliths.
Just imagine if someone created a real speculative African civilization that would have realistically emerged given their resources and isolation. It would look practically alien in such a cool and unique way but instead lets just dress up a watered down coruscant and put a bunch of straw roofs over a few buildings.

Afro-futurism has always been like this. The real problem is that no one can credibly imagine new technology and science rising out of Africa so they're reduced to ideas about natural resources (leftists are obsessed with the idea that Africa is poor because foreigners steal their resources) and aesthetics.
Always found it hilarious that Black Panther opened in Seoul and not an African city.

Here's the thing ... if they actually made a "realistic" african cyberpunk metropolis on par with major global megacities people would complain it looks too "white" and not ethnic enough.

So they had people in the movie just wear tribal outfits, chuck spears and have buildings shaped like large drums with palm tree roofs and maybe a mud palace but like huge.

If I didn't know this dumbass writer was sincere then I would have seen this sequence as a biting commentary on the obvious Marxist influence of new woke characters like Ironheart. The only thing the writers understand is the Marxist oppression narrative, thus they have to shoehorn it into everything. And in what is a stunning example of oblivious irony they portray their protagonist as forcing her poor teacher into the role of oppressor so she can assume the role of oppressed. Academic achievement? Personal satisfaction? Acclaim and accolades? Nah, only social justice will inspire her. And only inspiration, not a sense of duty or honor or actual justice, will activate her. Just as the troony will be satisfied only by the euphoria of gaslighting and coercing others into verbally agreeing that the troony is the opposite of what it actually is.

It doesn't cost them anything because they have a direct pipeline to BlackRock, and it might demoralize some goyim in the process.

How is shit like this getting green lit to this very day? Bob Iger should be imprisoned at this point, its malfeasance.

Iger is running and experiment to see if uber liberal middle aged women can produce content the entire world wants.

so far the answer is no.

Reshoots just mean they scrap everything and start all over

Why don’t they just scrap it permanently. If I was a CEO of Disney I would cancel these movies and use the money to invest in real estate

who keeps greenlighting shit like this? How do you explain to a boardroom of investors that THIS will sell because of...???

They're pushing them some bullshit about future profits once they expand the demographics by trying to get the people who steal Nike's to subscribe

Maybe if they start selling Disney+ time cards in stores the target demographic will steal them and then they can sell more to the store.

Yeah but Don Cheadle detests the contemptible harlot that is now the protagonist of the MCU and he's scheduled to die of ("heart complications")* any day now.

Why doesn't Disney just save their money and spend it on something good, like Spider-Man, Daredevil or the X-men? Children learn to save money at an early age. Why hasn't Disney? I thought israelites like money.

Same thing is happening with the Blade movie. Apparently the story focuses on 3 strong, brave and black women instead of Blade himself. The guy playing Blade threatened to quit.

And they had trouble recruiting someone to play Reed Richards because the script shits on the character with the whole movie about Sue Storm being a girlboss.

So they've replaced Cap, Iron man, and soon Spidey with new black diversity reparations versions. At what point does it start to be too much black pandering? If you replace all the white heroes with black ones don't you end up with the same lack of diversity?

      Anonymous

There is no such thing as too much black pandering. People of color ARE diversity. If you have a room with five white people and five black people the room is 50% diverse, but if you take the whites out the room is 100% diverse. That's how it works.

Reminder that every year, the NBA receives an award for being the most diverse corporation because 95% of NBA players are black.

    How to fix the MCU:
    1. Cancel all D+ shows. No more.
    2. 3 films a year max
    3. Focus on the remaining heroes who people actually like
    4. Tone down the comedy, return to having films which feel like they have actual stakes
    5. Quit the endless power level climb; super OP heroes in a team focused franchise just doesn't work, especially when you pin said power on garbage characters like Captain Marvel
    6. Really, cancel all the D+ shows.

      Anonymous

      >1. Cancel all D+ shows. No more.
That'll happen whether they want it or not.
      >2. 3 films a year max
      Even that's too much.
      >3. Focus on the remaining heroes who people actually like
At this point that's Peter Quill and only Peter Quill. Thor is the god of bottom text memes. What's left, Antman?
      >4. Tone down the comedy, return to having films which feel like they have actual stakes
That's never gonna happen. They embrace that gay shit.
      >5. Quit the endless power level climb; super OP heroes in a team focused franchise just doesn't work, especially when you pin said power on garbage characters like Captain Marvel
This might be the thing they get rid of before anything else, just to save money.
