This is more of a recent thing. In the past anime characters often looked Caucasian. They had long dolichocephalic heads, larger noses and were less neotenous.
That's actually the opposite of true.
In recent years anime characters have become explicitly either Japanese or Caucasian.
picrel is Caucasian. When the Japanese to European fantasy the do something that Hollywood can't seem to wrap it's head around and make everyone European.
That's why isekai doesn't get picked up by Netflix and definitely isn't getting an adaptation.
Those are not European features. I was thinking of characters from 1980s and early 1990s. Like Fist of the North Star or Legend of Galactic Heroes, or even old shoujo like Rose of Versailles.
Yeah so that's the OLD old stuff. And really it's why people talk about Japanese cartoons that came before anime.
Particularly when you're talking about Fist of the North Star, that was an attempt to make an AMERICAN cartoon. The anime style of art that
is talking about doesn't really begin until the early 90s with childrens shows like Robotech, Gundam, Masinger Z, Astroboy.

Where's the autism? I came into this thread for autism.
Stop spamming this thread you fricking moron
No
Been wondering if i should watch this. Heard it start out good but drops off
Technically it does. But that's only because the first episode is unparalleled kino that cannot possibly be matched in our lifetime.
The rest is merely greatness beyond belief, which is technically a step down.
watch the first, longer episode, its masterfully done, then read the manga instead
>watch the first, longer episode, its masterfully done, then read
Let me stop you right there, this is Cinemaphile, nobody here can read.
its a manga
its a fricking comic book you read the other way around
if you can read Cinemaphile posts you can read manga
>its a fricking comic book you read
Again, let me stop you there, if you're looking for literate people you're going to need to GTFO.
didn't this character die?
Not in my heart Anon, not in my heart.
My girlfriend can't get enough of this garbage.
Your "girlfriend" has excellent taste.
Can he tho?
No, her taste is pretty shit, she only watches horror movies, anime and let's players.
Why don't you pretend to have a girlfriend with better taste then?
Because she's my girlfriend and I love her, moron.
Dude just make up a different one, I'm sure you'll love her just as much.
The findom you're paypigging is not your girlfriend dude.
Aren't kids angry about this one lately because the incest series actually includes incest?
Nobody's gonna miss you when you have a nice day, trranny
You will tho. You won't know you will, you'll just be complaining that Cinemaphile is even shitter, but you'll def miss me.
watching something made for kids, what the hell is wrong with Cinemaphile?
Go back to watching Family Guy boomer.

Last autism for today.
If I'm reading the board correctly, it's pretty cool who leaves immediately upon getting the reccy and who hangs around like homosexuals. The RLM guys trying to shill themselves, the disney and netflix bots, the off-topic trolls, they all hang around with their noses in the air at the anime.
But the actual respectable celebs, and the anons who can see what is really happening, those guys all frick off almost straight away, presumably to see what the fuss is about.
Some days being a wizard is hard, but not today. Today was a good day. And tomorrow will be even better.
>I'm an incel give me attention
Like a woman
I watched the first episode and it's so fricking cringe. The author is a sjw troony that really tries to make idols seem like good people (which they are not obviously)
Nah I'm done for today tranime guy.
Save it all up for tomorrow.
>Aka
>writing drama
yeah that's going to be a NO for me
Anime generally shits on hollywood yes, however
>I did not watch SnK or Hero Academia in the mid 10s
>I did not watch Demon Slayer in 2019
>I did not watch JJK in 2020
>I did not watch Nagarato in 2021
>I did not watch Bocchi the reddit in 2022
>I did not watch Oshi in current year
>I will never watch your FoTM ironic weeb zoomer garbage
All of these were shoved down my throat by morons insisting they were timeless masterpieces only to be forgotten and replaced in a few short years. I'm sick of seeing this sparkly eyed hoes face everywhere and look forward to her being forgotten soon like the rest
You sound like a legitimate moron, avoiding shows just because they're popular.
> SnK or Hero Academia
> Demon Slayer
> JJK
> Nagarato
> Bocchi the reddit
> Oshi
> FoTM
seems like a good lineup of forgettable shows worth ignoring, shit, I'll admit it, this is coming from a fan of DBZ, one punch man and jojo's bizarre adventure, give me 20 episodes of kino over 1000 episodes of naruto/one piece serialslop
Most of those shows are shit, sure. But it's actively avoiding them because "oh no other people are talking about them!" that's pathetic. I could understand if he had actual convictions. Like he just didn't watch shounen, fair enough. But it's a pretty varied selection with the only common theme being that they were "popular".
BB went to absolute shit by the end and I always laugh at people who bring it up as an example of something good. DN was the same kind of clunky show as half the shit on your list, the only difference is you watched it when you were 12 so it seemed a lot better.
I give everything a chance. It takes 20 fricking minutes to give something a chance, homo. Being a hipster about shit is just sad. Go watch Detective Conan, it's fun.
>But it's a pretty varied selection with the only common theme being that they were "popular"
>All Shonenshit and Moeshit
Very varied selection
>It takes 20 fricking minutes to give something a chance
I saw episode 1 of the first few I mentioned and they were all shit. So why would I waste my time watching something just because it's popular when that clearly isn't an indicator of quality? I will give something a shot based on a few factors like who directed it, who's writing it, if I like it's aesthetic and concept, etc. I don't have the time to watch every new show anon and when I pick which ones I'll give a shot it's not going to be based on the social media buzz around it
>Cinemaphile hasn't seen Death Note because it didn't stand the test of time, it's culturally irrelevant outside of weebs of a very specific demographic.
This is blatantly false, the biggest normalgays I know love death note
>Breaking Bad is not some timeless classic, you're just in your mid 30s obsessing over something everyone else has moved on from like The Wire before it
I'm in my early 20s and you must be completely shut off from the world to think Breaking Bad has no cultural relevance, again you just have an insanely warped perception of reality
>The Dark Knight
>Nolan Capeshit
>THESE are the timeless classics
Fricking LOL
>The most memed movie in the history of ever, that still get's pulled out by professional memers on normie.net is not important but Breaking Bad is
Beyond idiotic.
I haven't seen Death Note. I'm never going to see Death Note. Because what you, you absolute fricking idiot, don't seem to understand is all the "normies" you know are YOUR AGE, ETHNICITY AND EDUCATION.
ie. your demographic.
So take it from someone a few demographics older than you, your taste isn't special, you're not interesting. Oshi No Ko on the other hand is VERY interesting.
Not that it matters, you'll get there eventually, your kind always do.
>I haven't seen Death Note. I'm never going to see Death Note. Because what you, you absolute fricking idiot, don't seem to understand is all the "normies" you know are YOUR AGE, ETHNICITY AND EDUCATION. ie. your demographic
The same demographic you were just saying is in their mid 30s? lmao
>your taste isn't special, you're not interesting
Never a claim I made, I've barely talked about my taste at all other than stating two popular things I actually do like and you're trying to insist I'm wrong because they aren't popular enough to be displayed on your wall a long with your nolan posters and funko pops
>YOUR AGE, ETHNICITY AND EDUCATION.
>Oshi No Ko on the other hand is VERY interesting.
Maybe for people of your age, ethnicity, and education. AKA
>30s
>filipino
>couldn't afford it
Obviously I'm not saying everything that's still making top 10 lists on normie.net a decade later is good. Breaking Bad reached that legendary television series status like The Sopranos or Twin Peaks. The Fresh Prince of Bel Air did not despite it being popular and culturally relevant enough for the morons who loved it to make me aware of it with constant references despite being before my time. The Dark Knight is not a "timeless classic" because of joker memes and the lowest common denominator consumers ranking it among their favorites
I didn't read that, whatever fricking age you are grow out of it already, it's boring.
Grow out of what? not wanting to watch the shitty idol show you keep shilling? lmao
I'm not watching Oshi, I'm sorry, but I just don't want to, haha, gonna have to skip that one, sorry dude, but I'm just not watching it, lol
>I'm not watching Osh
Okay, whatever, frick off now.
You'll get there once your friends start talking about it.
>You'll get there
You don't seem to understand
I will not be watching Oshi
No you don't seem to understand.
I accept your position, so you can now get the frick out of the Oshi No Ko thread.
You're talking to a literal mentally ill that's talking absolute nonsense and has no idea about anime industry (but pretends he does) because he started watching anime this year. He's been desperately spamming Cinemaphile with it in the last few days to get people to watch this show. There's no use trying to reason with him, he's beyond help
>It takes 20 fricking minutes to give something a chance, homo.
Late Spring, Once Upon a Time in Anatolia, Pacifiction OR Japanese slop about reincarnated idols. Hmm... such a hard choice.
Not a hard choice at all.
Watch Oshi No Ko.
That other shit sounds like absolute garbage. Watch Oshi No Ko and learn what kino actually is.
I watched Breaking Bad because it stood the test of time, remains cherished and loved as a masterpiece over a decade later. I don't avoid things because they're popular but because they're very obviously some flavor of the month thing people only watch because it's "the thing everyones talking about"
An anime like Death Note is like breaking bad, remembered and discussed forever
Oshi is like squid game, beloved by normalgay zoomers on social media until the next thing they start seeing tweets and tik toks about occupies that space in their brain instead
I bet you said that about Your Name and I want to eat your pancreas too homosexual
>An anime like Death Note is like breaking bad, remembered and discussed forever
I hope you remember that dumbarse take so you'll feel like an idiot when this becomes part of the history of pop-culture (not just Japanese pop-culture, all of it).
You're talking about old shonenshit from the photocopy era that is ONLY discussed by the very people you're criticizing for overhyping fotm.
But a wise man would have noticed that this isn't Cinemaphile. Cinemaphile hasn't seen Death Note because it didn't stand the test of time, it's culturally irrelevant outside of weebs of a very specific demographic.
Breaking Bad is not some timeless classic, you're just in your mid 30s obsessing over something everyone else has moved on from like The Wire before it. You just happened to be the right age where the show that was hot at that moment became your favorite too.
Fight Club, The Matrix, The Dark Knight, more I can remember because I'm tired, THESE are the timeless classics. And I was there for them. Oshi No Ko is not fricking Death Note, Oshi No Ko is the next big thing. It's just it takes anime longer to penetrate the anglo-sphere because people who don't watch ANY anime need more than the opinion of some weeb.
>I bet you said that about Your Name and I want to eat your pancreas too homosexual
NTA either but you're a fricking moron. He's talking about Ghibli like it fricking matters, he's never seen Your Name.
The first episode is a 90-minute (arguably) standalone movie and better than any of that Kiki's Moving Delivery Castle bullshit.
QRD?
The first episode is the best 90 minutes of kino produced, in any medium or format, since 2017.
The only reason it's not absolutely covered in awards is because anime is disqualified from all the awards it should be covered in.
Go back to your containment board you tr/a/nime homosexual
All fricking trannies should fricking hang.
Cinemaphile furry shut the frick up
he spammed it enough that I downloaded it
sorry no purchase troonybro
I didn't pay for it either, that's why I'm shilling it for free. Least I can do.
oh I just watched 5 minutes of the first episode.
it's all deleted now naturally.
how can you do this to yourself? this is fricking dreadful stuff
Big time rush is oshi no ko but good
