Once humans' bodies + DNA are hacked into, they become transhuman, humanoid-adjacent. Robots are just one extreme example. The no longer human can be casually disembowled for shits and giggles.

He didn't do it to impress her. And the Replicant was infertile, Wallace intended to breed them so the one he killed was a failure thus immaterial. He has millions of Replicants—killing one is nothing to him when he can just make more.

in what world is natural reproduction a more efficient method than assembly line production? I could buy his motivation if he was obsessed with Tyrell's legacy and wanted to create naturally reproducing replicants as a means of becoming a god or whatever but needing two replicants to bang and pop out a baby 9 months later that then takes 20 years before you can sell it is MUCH slower than whatever method they were already using to make them

      >needing two replicants to bang and pop out a baby 9 months later that then takes 20 years before you can sell it is MUCH slower than whatever method they were already using to make them
To be fair it's never said that it follows the normal human reproduction timescale. From a purely profit centric perspective, it's far cheaper to have them make themselves 'naturally' than to have to manufacture them, if for no other reason than materials and energy costs. Completely realistic and buyable for an IRL corporation to prioritize that kind of cost cutting to increase stock value.

ARE REPLICANTS ROBOTS OR BIOLOGICAL HUMANS GROWN IN A LAB
    Robots:
    >huge stregth, endurance, toughness, running through walls, killing barehanded etc
    >preprogrammed death clock
    >used for labor which would lilely kill a human
    >behavior is abnormal and measurable
    Biohumans:
    >are treated like ones in the films context. Why care if you kill a robot? Do you care when you throw out an old laptop?
    >apparently full of blood and bones. Why fill a robot with this goop
    >complex emotions ans thoughts which wouldnt be programmed into a roboman
PLEASE help me, anons. Ive argued this back and forth with people for years

They're biohumans that have grown more advanced with each subsequent model. They're flesh and blood but ultimately still synthetic and have augmented abilities such as strength, durability, etc. I do wonder about the emotional aspect though, especially with Nexus-9s that are intended for Blade Runner work. They're subjected to Baseline tests to keep them in line and make sure they aren't becoming emotionally unstable, when it would be easier to just build them unable to feel anything and be essentially just walking talking tools.

Just like the whole uproar with AI replacing actors and artists, I feel like this would be a huge threat to humankind in general. Mass produced humans purpose build and bred for specific purposes to be cogs in the machines, always following directions and doing as told. Wouldn't be long before they outnumber natural humans. What would be the point of keeping normal humans around when they whine, complain, question, malfunction, start conflicts?

In the world of Blade Runner it's not really an issue because most people fricked off world

It did still seem like it's an overcrowded slums everywhere and ruins outside of that. So that's just as bad. The "human kind" just uses up the resources, leaves the planet a depleted mess and flies off to parts unknown in space, leaving the "normal" people left to wallow in the trash.

          Anonymous

most human beings already are cogs in the machine and most are even aware about being that. and they still don't rebel

Their people. The "Machine" aspect was created by Tyrell et all to dehumanize them and ensure they would remain a disposable resource. The irony is that by the end of the sequel natural born humans are just as disposable as the replicants due to the fact that everything in society has been antomized and commondified. The fact that there's a whole dumps filled with people illustrates this point further.

I'm still a bit confused by the final act of 2049. Why did Wallace even send Deckard off-world? I know they say for "further interrogation" but like, this is the one lead you've been looking for, and he's safe in your HQ. How is being off-world going to help? So then K finds the convoy somehow, I don't remember, and then just starts blasting. Like I'm assuming he had already decided not to actually kill Deckard, but he's just fricking gunning b***hes down with no concern for his target's safety. How did he even know which spinner Deckard was in? Cause he shoots the one down and it just fricking crashes and explodes. Anyway, then a prolonged and rather embarrassingly choreographed fight scene takes place, and then K and Deckard leave.
They argue about some shit and K says he killed Deckard or something, so I guess that's it? Deckard is just officially dead? Because nobody will investigate the wreckage. Nobody was tracking the entire ambush. Nobody is tracking the duo at that very moment. K just knows these things somehow. So then they lead whoever is likely tracking them straight to Stelline. You know the one person dozens of people have died over, that Deckard has been in hiding to protect for over thirty years? Yeah now seems like an appropriate time for a visitation.
Whatever, I hope there's no CCTV in the lab. That'd be kinda awkward, right? All this ambiguous subterfuge just for a assumed dead Deckard's face to show up. Don't forget to grab K's body on your way out, Ricky. I know you're like eighty, but if anybody finds him dead outside the Lab, that's gonna be pretty suspicious and attract attention to your daughter.
Why don't bodycams exist in the future?
