honestly. the whole "best actor for the part" line is bullshit. the physical appearance and presence of the actor is part of that "best for the part" criteria. The physical characteristics of an actor literally warp the movie. I think Arnold is the best example of this, an example so extreme that the effect I'm talking about is blatantly obvious. Predator, Terminator, Total Recall, Twins, Kindergarten Cop, all movies that become fundamentally different films the moment you swap Arnold out with someone like, say, Tom Hanks. In a movie like twins or kindergarten cop the entire source of humor is Arnold's imposing physical presence. replace him with a sassy fat black woman and it's just a different movie, and at that point none of the humor works anymore.
You're right but that's not really a great way to explain it because you could have cast Michael Clarke Duncan in those roles to get the same effect. And in fact they did cast him as Kingpin and no one really cared because he did a good job with it.
