it's the chin, it has the same kind of armoring around the red bit. Probably an intentional reference.
The chin, a fairly wide head, prominent crest, and wide non-yellow v-fin all contribute to the similarity. Certainly not identical, but I see it.
then again wide non-yellow v fin and prominent crest are the hallmark for all age gundams
