>scientists science the shit out of some science stuff and develop a cure for the thing (now always taking the form of white men) >not enough people take the cure because the thing has infected the president of the united states >film ends with a sad black girl lead looking out the destruction of a red state city as a multicultural diverse and equitable group of brave bipocs seclude themselves into a space age bunker made by their token white liberal savior
yeah no ty
>opening scene: childs and mac are freezing to death as the fire dies down around the destroyed camp >cat drives up to them, following the smoke >driver door opens: it's mew >"any of you swingin' dicks need a ride? " >van halen kicks in as the cat peels out on the snow >Universal Pictures Presents

it wasn't scary and all of the acting was wooden to the point that I didn't care if anyone died. The effects looked cheesy as well even though this movie is almost 40yo.
it's just overhyped. It looks great basically. That's all. There's nothing more to the movie and idk why there's a small niche of autists obsessed with this movie.
I like it because it was my dads favorite movie. he never made me watch it or anything but every time we had some casual talk about movies he'd always say he likes The Thing and Sniper.
I like it because of that.
better than your mom
movies don't age anon
Sequel with the Thing wreaking havoc and showing the downfall of all humanity when?
probably soon, isn't that place melting at a rapid rate?

that sounds like shit and misses the point
Misses the point? The point was adequately communicated the first go round. Time for a new point.

whenever someone criticize a movie as being "not scary" I ask:
what movie do you find scary?
I never got an answer
they're all internet tough guys who don't afraid of anything
>I identify as thing/it
Boom just made your monster movie into existential dystopian horror
it's just overhyped. It looks great basically. That's all. There's nothing more to the movie and idk why there's a small niche of autists obsessed with this movie.
>small niche

its a special type of autist who wants to talk about it
don't make me repeat myself
It didn't age at all.
I like it because it was my dads favorite movie. he never made me watch it or anything but every time we had some casual talk about movies he'd always say he likes The Thing and Sniper.
I like it because of that.
>me after reading OP
The Thing is a perfect movie and it's extremely infuriating that there aren't more movies like it. You don't deserve kino in your life.
so while we're all here, the first person to get infected had to be Palmer, right?
