It's not a good movie. The pace is awful, the acting is stilted, the plot twists are stupid, the plot in general is bad and the final fight also horrible. MI2 is a better actioner on every level. It lives up to the title in being bombastic and fun.

to add, I think that Ethan in MI2 is a way better protagonist. fun, adventurous, playboyish, sure of himself, the Ethan in MI1 and the rest of the movies is an npc protagonist with no personality. I like to believe MI2 is the only canon film and the rest don't count. I can't bring myself to watch them. So boring and lifeless.

Kittridge is the only kino part of MI1. Such a kino voice. I'm glad they brought him back in MI7.
I really like the way the movie looks so it's one of my favourite MI movies. I also just bought the Casio Ethan wears in that movie.
