This movie has creeped me out since I watched it last night. I can't remember the last movie like this that had my hairs on end and making me not want to go into the dark to go to the bathroom.

Definitely sticks with you for a while.
I can't believe I was tricked into watching this turd. The aussie accent makes anything comical.
The ending shots of the ghost girl around the house are literally what old internet ghost videos used to be. Really nostalgic and creepy tbh.
It just lacked a screamer
that part kind of sucked i wish they restrained themselves from that
the film has a jumpscare tho, and it might be the most effective jumpscare in any horror movie ever
Try reading again.
Can it really be a jump scare when it's a slow build up and it only when it clearly comes into view it freaks you out?
>that sudden loud scream
Yes
The jumpscare is after that, it's when the dad is done talking about recognizing the body. The footage unpauses and the ghost comes at the camera with a loud noise.
Yeah it has an old school "spooky ghost video" feel to it. Creepy and comfy.
Is Lake Mungo the longest running joke on Cinemaphile? The only other thing I can think of are the grounhog day threads
What?
The "Lake Mungo is a good film" joke.
>everyone who likes a movie i don't is joking
If it helps you cope, then go ahead and believe that.
It's not about your individual opinion, it's about opinions of people like you appearing regularly over the course of fifteen years.
>people have liked a movie for multiple years, that means it's a joke
Do zoomers actually find it strange to talk about things that came out years ago? Sorry people still watch Lake Mungo instead of whatever flavor of the month you're into.
It's always interesting seeing such people get confused and disoriented.
>catched
always my favorite
this movie has been shilled on here forever, i got tricked into watching it like 10 years ago, it's a tv rite of passage to get baited by it.
ok time for the next ritual undress
For me its that movie about nuclear holocaust “Threads”
Cinemaphile has a extremely huge shittaste.
Threads is pure kino.
>blair witch project
>rec
>lake mungo
>ghostwatch
>cannibal holocaust
What else goes in the list of the absolute best found footage movies? Maybe Creep or Cloverfield.
Noroi. Also, The Wicksboro Incident is EXTREMELY spooky.
>The Wicksboro Incident
Thank you for the rec.
Savagelands is very similar in style to Lake Mungo.
Bros...
The whole film is Baudrillardpilled.
I don't speak Australian
What was up with the neighbor sex plot?
>alice has threesomes with her Neighbor and his wife
>this is completely legal because she is 16 and over the age of consent
>dude still flees for some reason and somehow manages to just vanish?
Literally only thing he could be gotten on was the tape recording but since Alice had it, couldn’t he just claim she made it and he and his wife didn’t know?
It's implied it was happening before she was over the age of consent and that the neighbors were probably molesters.
She was 12 or 13 when it happened
