Pretty great movie. OP is definitely fatherless and childless, thankfully.

It literally has zero plot. Only good parts it rips off from his earlier movies like abyss. The cgi is actually pretty meh considering how much it was hyped the moxed 24 48fps and 3d looked poop the character models and soundtrack also sucked.

Why he waited 15 years to rehash his first movie is beyond me frick waiting another 8 years for this shit

I didn't find it visually impressive
I was looking at moronic blue cats?

And there was nothing about the CGI that was better than marvelshit. I guess, to be fair, it was better than DCslop CGI.
      Great. Who gives a frick

This movie is LITERALLY the same movie as the first one except the battle is a bit smaller scale and it takes place on water instead of in the air and on the ground

It literally has the same villain, the same arc of learning that natives are better than evil white people for two hours before a battle, and then they have a fight
It is 100% the same movie lol
          What meaningful differences are there?

            >the same arc of learning that natives are better than evil white people
            Are you stupid
They humanize Quaritch through his relationship with Spider and show that Jake was a fool to run instead of fighting. It also does not believe in native superiority because Jake Sully and Quaritch are set apart from them due to their ability to strategize and consider failing scenarios. It's really nuanced because it's both a blessing and a curse, Jake Sully cannot relate to his kids or wife who wish to just face the enemy yet it allows him to be powerful in the first place and live to see another day. Proven by how Jake and Quaritch are both able to conquer the creatures of the sky very easily whereas the more natural animals of the ocean give them trouble. Though ultimately Jake wins by giving up parts of his humanity, seen as his intent to face Quaritch as the end, which is also shown by him being able to fight with water instead of against it

they didn't humanize him at all, they made him seem like a moronic child who's feeling emotions for the first time. vercingetorix would've pissed on his man and been disgusted by touching the same stream as him. just awful.

                Anonymous

How is him trying to, from his perspective, rescue his son for no reason besides its his son not the movie humanizing him? He's a directly parallel to the most human character in the movie, Sully, as well. He's not just a generic big bad when the movie ends with him retreating and the main character seeking bloodlust revenge
Also him being autistic ill say is just due to him technically being revived from the dead and in a new body (a new body which also alters the way you think and interact with the world)

It's less of an adventure story and the pace is loose so it plays out very differently. Instead of stringing you along in a consistent move from intro to credit it meanders then suddenly jolts forwards, that is a difference. Some used to say pandora was the main character well it's not the case in this new one.

Feminists aka communists. Proper ones consider any sex to be rape in the system of cishetero normative patriarchy and pregnancy is just parasitic clumps of cells imposed on them by the oppressor - men, so it is important that not even all this can slow them or hold them down.

These companies build trust to make a competent product - not good, but competent. Now other businesses will make business deals with them for money. Translate the movie into other languages. Do food packaging tie-ins. Make Christmas ornaments. All based on a shitty middling movie in the first place. It's all just dumb bullshit.

Claims of "generic story" are baseless

both movies have the villains be pretty ordinary corporate stooges acting like classic aliens, abducting people, using their advanced tech in nefarious ways, harvesting native life in outlandish ways, wearing the skins of the native inhabitants, invading from space.
The entire premise is a massive subversion

A shit generic writer would have Lo'ak get into gangs or some delinquent shit instead finding a brother in another outcast, have Quaritch try to brainwash Spider, have the reef people being either way too lenient or b***hy, give the colonizers dumb sob stories to imitate some grey conflict, etc
These "fixes" amongst others proposed by critics others make me physically cringe

The Metkayina village or as i call it the timeskip village, setting for the second, hour long act of the movie. The timeline during this middle segment is fricked and the character development happening there only starts to make sense if one inserts imaginary time in between the scenes. It would have worked out if it focused solely on Lo'ak's quest for acceptance but that plot plus Kiri's mopping, Quaritch's search, plus Tuk's play and Payakan scenes plus group scenes are crunched together, packed so tight that the string of events becomes unbelievable, incredible and ridiculous. J'Lo fricking up and being scolded 3 times in a row is the jarring result and this is the cause: a crunch of too many scenes evidently supposed to happen weeks apart in a sensible plot.

Dude, I just saw it the other day. It's so predictable and the CGI is jank when it's not a major fight.
