what?
An indie game. It's Binding of Issac featuring this girl and handdrawn animation.
>Binding of Issac
As in a roguelike style gameplay, or a Christianity, parental abuse, mind break, horror, slathered with piss and shit theme?
More like inspired by Zelda and showing blood and stuff. The theme is more about school life and a vampire uprising. You can check out the free Demo on description from the newest announcement on youtube.
Ah, that makes more sense. The style looked too cute and clean to share such a theme, but I like roguelikes so I was hoping for the former. Zelda inspired doesn't sound bad either.
it has its own fair share of gore tho
I see it, but it's definitely a much different, less visceral kind of gore. Just feels like an inappropriate comparison.
>BLUD
more like BLEH am i right bros
it has npcs and backgrounds to interact and pretty much everything is always moving. is a really good flex on their craft in animation from Exit73studios
wow that's ugly
It looks fantastic, hope it gets the attention it deserves. The negative c**ts ITT sure seem to be jealous of actual creatives accomplishing something.
>muh indiegames must be on Cinemaphile because they use cartoonish artstyle
Piss off, only Cuphead gets a pass for me because he got an actual cartoon show (very mediocre tho)
What is wrong with the girl's face
It's expressive?
First things that came to mind were pic related and those awful General Mills commercials from a few years back.
That sucks. At least the is an original IP and more in line with what the studio seems to like, since, it seems, this is a passion project and not some commercial
animation looks good but the artstyle sucks ass
Wow
This reeks with troony stench
Holy shit I forgot how long it takes to make an indie game. Hopefully it finds some success and encourages more indie games to do hand-drawn 2d
Me too anon. This feels like Cuphead again and I hope it stays like a trend for the next decade
>Everything I don't like is made by trannies!!!!
It feels like it wants to be like Dexter or any other similar show, but the designs are too 2010s-y to really pull it off.
it looks more like late 2000's pre Gumball but post Savino's Dexter.
I don't know what you mean, the designs are more reminiscent to the late 90's and early 2000's (PPG, MLAATR, The Fairly OddParents) than 2010's (AT, GF, Regular Show). The angles of the edges are smooth instead of sharp, sure, but the eyes, shape of the body and deformed expressions are not from the 2010's
I've been following this game for quite sometime now, since 2019. Hope development is still going smoothly.
Talk to me when that girl protagonist gets fricked by vampire cucks
>He wants to frick this
Anon...
Cool fanart
Already happens in the game over screen
this art-style looks a bit like shmorky's
It really doesn’t
There's definitely some resemblance. Moreso with some of the animation styles, particularly in the idles
Not really. Yes, they are similarly fluid, but otherwise they are almost completely different.
I've been waiting a long time for this game.
The thumbs on her hand in this shot are bothering the hell out of me.
Oh I know this publisher, they the same guys that published A Hat In Time along other indie games that have interesting artstyles or specifics niches.
Their games are very hit and miss tho, sometimes they strike gold and other times it's just boring crap.
If I had to choose one of them and "try" to make it Cinemaphile related content I would have plenty of options.
Uhhh and what's their name anon?
Humble Games
Some of their is good and some is mediocre
I hope #blud doesn't fall in mediocre
Wow...
They look so generic...
I think it's the artist's sameface issue that makes them seem more generic than they really are
I only recognized like two or three faces here
>Hat Kid from AHiT
>That space prisoner guy from void bastards
>Monarch from project wingman
The rest are literal whos
I'm checking these games right now for the first time and I feel that many of them are like fangames based off other games but given a unique spin to them.
For example, pic is called The Wild at Heart and it's basically a Pikmin game but in a Tumblr artstyle.
Now this is both good and bad for different reasons but this is Cinemaphile so I'm not going to deep in this.
Is this a corporate shill thread?
cool, you can leave the thread now
worse... it's and indieslop thread
Fuuuuuck
Ah whatever as long there's good lewds is don't care anyway
I've been saying for awhile that the video game industry is the last real hope for 2D animators to actually find work in the States since Netflix axed their animation division. Unfortunately, you can't make threads about it without being considered off-topic even though we get constant Cinemaphile spam and Twitter screenshots that go unchecked. Frick, I can't even make a Team Fortress 2 thread without there being a 50/50 chance of it being deleted for "not being Cinemaphile related".
funny you say that, this thing began because the studio wanted to pitch the idea to disney (or was it netflix?) and they got denied
Gris was intended as a netflix or disney pitch? Source? I saw it was made when an artist met some ubisoft devs
But can't we discuss the cartoon side of it? Not only is about the artstyle, it has very nice cartoon animation, both in the cutscenes and through out the whole game, and seems to be one of the best original works coming from Exit73Studios since Flex Calibur
no frick off
I love how she moves
It has a fusion of Elon Musk and Steve Jobs as a boss
How close is this to the "Calarts" style?
It's Shmorky-kino
i was looking forward to this, you literally play as a zoomer on this game lol
What surprises me to no end is that it was animated using an old ass version of flash from 20 years ago. Fricking flash.
That's cool. They seem to have been around for a while, wouldn't be surprised if some of the animators were from the albinoblacksheep or early NG days
Cause it's mega easy to pirate that program and Macromedia Flash crashes WAY less than Adobe Flash. At least in my experience.
but even then, this is coming from a settled animation studio with many years and many projects. It may have some logic and reasons, but it's still very weird, specially for handdrawn animation
Titmouse also still uses Adobe Flash because they developed so many plugins and custom scripts that they use for their productions, switching over to ToonBoom where their animators might not be familiar with the program and may not be able to recreate some of their plugins isn't worth it.
It's like how many South Korea animation studios we outsource to still do the initial animation on paper even though it's digitally cleaned up. The infrastructure is there and there's not much incentive to change when the pipeline is working.
that makes sense. Any sources for Titmouse still using Flash?. I like to see behind scenes or at least blogs on how studios make their stuff

Here's probably one of the more "recent" interviews I can find on the fly that mention that they still use Flash. It's from 2016, but this isn't really a question that they're being asked on an annual basis anyway. If you go on their website now, they still have open job spots for Flash animators.
Oh, wrong article link. That first one only mentions they got their startup using Flash. This one mentions that they still use in as of 2016.

thanks anon
I wanna see Becky beating the shit out of every vampire character from Cinemaphile and then some
But isn't it a game?
I guess so. OP probably thought this game would belong on this board since it's really "cartoony" or some shit
I've been looking forward to this game a lot, but I don't think it's on-topic enough to discuss about it here
Same team behind these old AVGN animations I think
Seems like it
also the artstyle looks like this but worse somehow
Where's that from?
NTA but I think it was a MC concept that people were ragging on a few years ago. Relic of a simpler time when a general lack of creativity was all people could lob at current showrunners.
Why are you trying so hard to crab? The game looks amazing.
There's also waifu material for those interested on the vampires
I appreciate they have various poses for getting hit.
it does go in goofier direction. i think is lovely
I am excited for this game, looks like a playable Newgrounds animation!
Newgrounds deserve some respect here
This isn't newgrounds just because it was made with Flash and blood
a curious connection, this game is being animated by the same guys who did animation for that one OK KO game
I always thought that looked like shit.
I would've much preferred something visually closer to the mobile game.
