      >then Moench dabs again
It's so weird to me how glazed over Moench is. Guy wrote Batman for like 11 years combined between the 80's and the 90's, was on Bat books from the early 90's through the late 90's which was such a pivotal era for the character.
in some dumb storytime thread a few weeks back someone called him "The guy who wrote JLA Act of God" and dismissed him off that...which is fricking nuts.

Those are midwit dumbfricks that only get their information about comics from Linkara and don't read anything else

The criticism is that most of Moench's works are Batman books. Of course he would make a great Batman books but non Batman books of his can be hit or miss

Having read a fair bit of Moench's work during that period I can say that the guy's hit-and-miss. When he hits, he knocks it out of the park. When he misses... he writes JLA: Act of God and Catwoman: Guardian of Gotham

      >um actually did you know that punching criminals in a bat suit isn't the best way to solve crimes
      >so batman is gonna decide one day to give more to charity, which won't impact anything within the story beside that one scene
Also annoying that Alfred asks "what about murderous psychopaths" like an idiot to serve as a strawman the author can refute.
Awful two pages, art sucks too.

Batman is a fascist power fantasy, just on a lower end than Punisher.

Doesn't facism has at least something to do with a strong state? How is vigilante justice fascist?

Beating up random people who are likely suffering from a poor socio economic background is not a good way to stop crime, also gunning them down like a blood thirsty lunatic is fascist crap.

If only Joker had gotten mo' money fo' dem programs, he wouldn't have felt forced by the heteronormative state to gas those people with Smilex. Donate to Clown Lives Matter to alleviate just some of the suffering Joker and others like him undergo.

It's dry wit. That was Alfred's whole schtick before they made him Bruce's daddy figure. He's there to bring the tray of food and make witty retorts.

I'm sure the vibrant urban Americans playing the knockout game are merely oppressed victims of socio-economic factors.

You must not like Zorro or Superman either then.

What is it with calling batman "Bat" or "The Bat"? Not as a nickname but as a weird second name. Are writers ashamed of "Batman" sounding cheesy or something? Not mature enough for them?

This was part of the "Legends of the Dark Knight" series which starred a Batman early in his career. "The Bat" is what the early Batman is recognized as when he's still a quasi-urban legend and not a fully fledged superhero

      >Batman fetish
Honestly good, we don’t need any more homosexuals like you dabbling in capeshit. I’d posit the biggest problem in comics is hiring people with this degenerate mindset.

That is the core of the character since day zero, yes. Maybe you'll prefer Miles Morales, who just kind of generally does good because the other guy named Spider-Man does.

... I hate to be That Guy, but Batman's origin story didn't show up until about six months after Detective Comics #27. Not that the anon you're replying to isn't being really fricking stupid, but I had to say something.

Why yes, I was diagnosed with Asperger's at a young age, however did you know?

The villains in batman all commit crime for insanity or ideological reasons. And they are not poor because they can afford tons of henchmen, custom clothes, one of a kind technology, and the funds for endless crazy schemes. Some of them are even the elite of the elite like the court of owls.

    What a stupid writer!
