The "any publicity is good publicity" mindset never seemed right to me. Bad publicity might be better than "no publicity", but that doesn't make it "good publicity".
If it did, Bob Iger could just get on live TV and say "Black person!" before leaving, and Disney's stocks would shoot to the moon.
"Bad publicity" mainly works for up-and-coming artists who struggle for any sort of mind share. Anyone big enough to become a household name can only be harmed by negative publicity. It's definitely not a universal panacea.
Why do you guys think The Walt Disney Company gives a shit what adults think about their children's cartoons? It probably won't last very long when it does premiere but that's because not a lot of kids are watching the live TV channels anymore
>Why do you guys think The Walt Disney Company gives a shit what adults think about their children's cartoons?
Because Primos was delayed like three times, it should have been aired months ago. >It probably won't last very long when it does premiere but that's because not a lot of kids are watching the live TV channels anymore
I mean,. with the new summer writer strike, I expect studios removing and cancelling more projects than ever.
>Left makes fun of Americans for only seeing LatAm as Mexico >Right is literally nothing but Mexican-related myths and stereotypes
This one really has gotten my noggin joggin, what did he meme by this, now that the dust has settled?
Presumably the right show is based in Mexico and not Latin America at large. Well, maybe Guero Balazos would have a 2 episode arc where he goes to Peru to shoot some Inca monsters.
*Combat rolls into the Embassy*
"Put down the ambassador, La Creatura! or Taste the fire of my Dragon Gun!"
"Ha! You are too late White Gunshots, for in just a matter of hours, the first Hamburguesas de Rusty will open up, in MEXICO CITY!"
"YOU FIEND FROM HELL!"
>GÜERO Balazos shot peruvian mommies and restore the good will between Mexico and Ecuador >GÜERO Balazos frick hundred of south American b***hes.
We live in the worse timeline ever

the right panel is a movie made by a mexican you morons do like 2 seconds of research + watch a good movie for once in your lives
Because you're getting served a Chicano slop abomination from people that culturally are as Latino as the average czech
it was made by a chilean gay furry in denial trying to be "based" and to kiss ass to his kind of popular wannabe nazi lolcow mexican friend and people still repost this slop.
damn, this small meme got a whole new meaning after learning the whole can of worms that is the story behind the creation of el wero balazos

can someone please explain the shit behind the dude who made this meme please?
are you kidding? Cinemaphile will be obsessed with it.
There'll be weekly threads talking about how shit it is or how bad it isn't. And Multiple "now that the dust has settled" type plurks when the season is over
Who are you kidding many of us will watch it for the sake of having something new to watch and shitpost about together.
Half of Cinemaphile is hate watching
At worst we can make reaction images
It should have been Katz Cafe and you know it. Can't believe Primos was chosen over it
Regardless of how cute it would be it is just another joo propaganda like Libby was
No one has ever given out a good reason as to why Disney made the right choice in choosing Primos over Katz Cafe when it's clear the latter was the one that should've been made
It could have been as simple as Katz was pitched after Primos was accepted and there was no more room for new shows.
Covid really fricked everything up for Disney. Shit was rushed, pitches didn't have the same "magic" being done over zoom, and it was harder for new blood to have their ideas heard
>the lead character's VA did
Sauce please. I think she left twitter and that's about it. If she was receiving tons of hate messages, she may have deactivated the account just to not have to deal with it, but that doesn't necessarily mean she had a mental breakdown over it.
I dont see the appeal in yet another latino slice of life cartoon. At least something like Encanto had an interesting setting beyond "lol mexicans". How do these make any money?? Who tf cares about watching cartoons about overcrowded poor people besides overcrowded poor people?
I like how latinos kept bragging about how they didn't care about how they were represented because they have tough skin and embrace the stereotypes but then this came out and they went apeshit
Which is good because if you let this slide then they will keep making woke shit just like they do with black people.
If they made a cartoon with mexican kids who are obsess with soccer and eating tacos I bet you the complaints would not even match this cartoon. In fact it would probably be a hit.
She seems like the main family member Tater is going to be interacting with. The part of her life before her primos move in. They should be making sure she is entertaining and likeable. Also is her name Natalie now? I remembered it being Nellie a while back in one of the first leaks.
She's the only character besides glasses girl with a non-ugly character design and she has a decent voice from what I recall.
It's strange since it seems like she's supposed to be the older sister voice of reason but she's younger than the Tater.
Disney put effort studying both brazuca and mexichango culture back in the day at least. Andean representation here, however, was so bad it was literally the main reason Condorito was created
No one has ever given out a good reason as to why Disney made the right choice in choosing Primos over Katz Cafe when it's clear the latter was the one that should've been made
I'm really confused about Disney's management lately. We talk about pozzed companies like Cartoon Network, or Naughty Dog if you're from Cinemaphile, but you can tell both studios think "But yeah, the story matters more than THE MESSAGE". Same with Nickelodeon (which I should have mentioned instead of Naughty Dog but I still kinda like ND and want to talk about it).
With Disney, it really does seem like the showrunners care about THE MESSAGE more than anything. To the point where they greenlight shit no one's gonna like and then lose millions of dollars while proclaiming everyone else is wrong. What's up with that?
I suspect that when there was that fight between Chapek and Iger, Chapek was really holding the artists back from going turbomoronic, and Iger fed them so he'd get their support. Also when that whole Me Too with lasseter went up, a bunch of the extremists took it as a chance to take over.
The day Bob Iger realizes the commies he bred are costing him over a billion dollars in bombs will be beautiful. Though, I suspsect he's going to try and bail in order to make it the next guy's problem.
In that case, I'm going to love seeing the new guy go "G-g-guys? I think we should town down on the m-m-messaging in order to make a profit!". They'll skin him alive.
there is NO way he doesn't know. He had his own employees causing public disruptions which ended up with Disney getting stuck in a stupid 100 percent avoidable pissing match with Florida man.
They didn't publically anounce anything, but they DID have layoffs, which I bet hit a bunch of the bomb throwers. Also during the fight with Peltz, Disney did move back a little bit, and focused on 100 percent sequels and nostalgia. New Frozen. X men 97.
And Iger absolutely needs an exit plan. He's desperate for one. But after what happened to chapek, what sane skilled person would take the job?
The whole Florida thing happened under Chapek's control, and the worst part Is that it happened because people at Disney like Dana Terrace and the Ghost and Molly McGee's creators were whining about the Mouse donating money to Republicans.

being a contrarian making people think they are some Anytown hoaxes.
Here's the synopsis
>Chosen and her french multi-generational family traveling circus is struggling due to less people going to see the shows they have already seen so they move to America since they have yet to travel there. The circus is also dwindling as much of her family is starting to leave with hopes of finding better jobs from all the connections they made, Chosen will try to get more people in the circus by trying new things which include new performances. Visually the circus is supposed to emulate old French circus. Pretty much its a "try new things it might be better" series
It's basically Encanto meets The Greatest Showman

I didn't name Anytown. How do you know about it? And you know about Chosen too. Suspicious as frick.
You're the hoaxer making the fake show bibles, aren't you.
I hope there's a rise in fan art of Ginger beating the living shit out of Tater come this June as an act of revenge for Katz Cafe getting cucked by Primos
Katz Cafe could've been a classic in the making while Primos is just the result of Disney trying to cash-in on Loud House but even more shitty, ugly and unoriginal
I wonder if the Primos disaster affected this other show which is basically latina Miraculous >SuperStar >Fourteen-year-old Alejandra Fuentes (Ale) is a starry-eyed musically gifted Latina eager to share her music with the world. This first generation American is balancing her Pop Star dreams with her South American parents’ expectations for her future – all while trying to stifle the unwelcome superpowers she’s had since birth. Superheroes commonly grapple with dual identities. Ale straddles three: model Miami high school student by day; viral social media Pop Star sensation “Blaze” by night; and reluctant superhero by, well…all the time. Ale never wanted to live the superhero life. She created her incognito stage identity in order to perform on social media without her parents finding out…but when she’s spotted using her powers and word gets out that Miami has its own (¡Spanish speaking!) superhero, Ale has no choice but to step up in service of her community as super-hero/singer BLAZE. Eventually she will embrace this persona as an extension of her authentic self and step into her own power, finally giving herself permission to become both the badass superhero and superstar she was always meant to be.
fpfp, Neon Galaxy by Molly Knox Ostertag aslo has latino mcs
>[ CORAL ] 15-18 year old sounding female (teens/adults only). Afro-Latine. Equal parts talent and ambition, Coral leads Neon Galaxy. She’s charismatic but with a fragile interior only a few people know. Her ambition is tied to a chronic illness that makes her reliant on others, and she really wants to prove her independence. A big dreamer with a big personality.
>Afro-latinos
What's up with the obsession with pandering to that group in California lately? Luz was also described like that despite not looking black at all or even resembling the woman she is supposed to be based on.
that one future episode where penny is all grown up. I can feel that design was meant for someone else.
Penny dressing like some latina and not some deep dark african with rings all over her neck.

You have my attention. That blurb doesn't sound too bad. Though I imagine this may still see quite a few changes still before we really see any more of it. Was there anything else about this series shared yet? I'm honestly surprised to see this is a Disney shown. I didn't remember seeing this show in the previously mentioned upcoming Disney animated shows.
This feels more like a weird Kim Possible + Hannah Montana, with the latter's secret identity drama taken up to eleven, hodge-podge...
>word gets out that Miami has its own (¡Spanish speaking!) superhero
Do... do they really think people care THAT much about superheroes speaking other languages?
>do they really think people care THAT much about superheroes speaking other languages?
Seems like it. For whatever reason this is one thing they obsess over. Or at least assume people do.
These are made by chicanos selling to hollywood buttholes who think bilingualisim is tossing in a few random spanish words ,when in reality it's more like SOOS.
Those living rent-free in my head are saying: >Little will be an enbie, maybe with a sprinkle of neurodivergent >Girl will be bi >Boy will be straight >Jock will be gay >Butch will be gay and/or trans
>primos made all the latino projects get cancelled >after the creator spent months arguing about slavery and inclusion, causing herself and peers to lose their jobs
i think there is some kind of weird irony into all of this
>South american parents
Any guesses of from where her family comes from? Let's see. >Too brown to be from the cono sur(Chile, Argentina and Uruguay) >Spanish, so obviously not Brazillian or Guyanese. >Bolivia, Ecuador, and Paraguay don't exist. Period.
That leaves us with Peru, Colombia and Venezuela. DTVA are a bunch of leftists so they won't portray Venezuela as a piece of shit worth fleeing from since it's a socialist paradise. Soooo....
>>Too brown to be from the cono sur(Chile, Argentina and Uruguay)
You are giving them too much research credit. For them, "real latinos" from South America are tanned at best, black at worst. Lighter tone skin, even more white skin? Colonizers, so they don't count.
>The series was inspired by Kline's childhood summers living with her cousins alongside her extended Mexican-American family and she wanted the lead characters to also be of Mexican-American heritage due to the lack of Mexican-American representation on television during her childhood

Sounds like it could be cool, but the fact that she's an aspiring social media pop star means there will probably be at least one song break per episode and these days I rarely feel like characters singing a song is warranted. That format tends to work better in movies (or shows for preschoolers), but in a show aiming at the 8-12 demographic (or older) it gets worn out pretty quickly.
I see what you're saying. Phineas and Ferb did a decent job of it so if they're at least up to that par then I wouldn't entirely mind songs an episode. Either way, I'm more concerned how we haven't seen anything about it yet. Nothing leaked or hinted at it seems.
Where the hell is this? It's apparently a Toys R Us, but is this really in the US? I had to look it up because I refuse to believe it's this popular here. I've never heard anyone say anything but negative things about the show, especially in recent seasons.
It's probably Paris. They even have a full size Ladybug statue there.
>show is about half latino child who doesn't speak spanish as a first language and has never been truly immersed in latino culture >everyone gets mad that they speak broken spanish
>>show is about half latino child who doesn't speak spanish as a first language and has never been truly immersed in latino culture
this is why people are mad in the first place
it feels like a half-assed "i'm totally [nationality] even though i've lived in america my entire life" kinda thing, i fricking hate when people do that shit because it just says to me that americans are so uninteresting they have to grasp onto their grandparents' nationalities in an attempt to seem more than they actually are
Shit it happens. Happens one way or another. One of my earliest disappointment moments for my folks is when around 5 or so I made it very clear that above all else I was American. From there it was one identitiy conflict after another. As I got older i pretty much went " frick it, I am what I am" and just went with that. That said I always feel bad when people from Spanish speaking countries see me and see my name tag with my painfully Spanish first name at my job and think they've finally found someone who can speak Spanish and help them. Sorry to disappoint. However unlike many American born Hispanics/Chicanos I actually had a good long history of visiting Mexico. Sorry, I don't care how good pegasus fantasy is. This will always be the superior op https://youtu.be/BLXHuZ-1C_4?si=xr3vOVuaGj2oLQIU

uh chicanon, everyone grew with the song of the errors, you can sing it literally anywhere in the country, hell IN THE ENTIRE CONTINTENT and people will have a chuckle.

How the frick does that even happen, at age 5 of all things? Your parents should be more disappointed in themselves.
It's one of the reason the white genocide meme is just a meme. There's a few ethnic groups that reject assimilation but most of them do within a gen or two of being here. The downside is we get stuck with Becky who makes a big deal out of being "Latina" since almost completely Anglo family had one Mexican woman in it like 5 generations back.
>How the frick does that even happen
Environment I think had a big hand in it.
Other kids that had a good balance of Spanish and English are probably in an environment/s where they'll speak and hear spanish a good majority of the time and then speak English as they're interacting at school or daycares, etc.
For me, My folks tell me they spoke Spanish to me right from the very start. But when I wasn't at home it was english at every other moment. And with two working parents, I wasn't home that often unless it was the morning or evening.
Everyone in my school spoke English. All my daycares spoke english. All the TV I watched was in English. All the music and radio I heard was English. I lived in a mainly white neighborhood with the surrounding stores and businesses speaking English. I sound a lot closer to my mom who though speaks perfect Spanish, picked up a sort of midwestern accent from nuns that taught at her school.
So much so that whenever I was speaking on skype or those old programs you'd used to talk with other groups of people in like video game clans and such they thought I was white.
I tried learning Spanish when I was younger but I would be constantly frustrated by whatever my parents would teach me then be contradicted by the other kids at school, and it doesn't help that Spanish taught in the US is primarily focused with Spain Spanish. I realized as I got older my folks use phrases or slang specific to their upbringing so it made sense there would be confusion. (Mom lost out on a front desk job at a chiropractor/physical therapist when during the interview questioning about her knowledge of anatomy she referred to the armpit as "Sovaco")
>I don't care how good pegasus fantasy is
I guess you are talking about the latam one, isn't good.
Now the real one, that's epic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1gftUBdwcmc
now this is an interesting conflict (difference made by latinamericans against american born latinos) and it's probably worth exploring it. and hell, maybe it's also the idea behind the show itself but it should've been made clearer it's not the ""authentic"" latino experience (whatever the frick that is) latinamericans get so mad about.

Its a sad truth considering how she can't really get into any other culture unless she became an actress or joined a gang.
This was in LA during one of the worst eras she wouldn't have been allowed to go out on her bike and hangout at the park and meet people the way a lot of other generations got to do
Her whole life was school and their poor family who probably never got to really celebrate their culture that well due to financial/time constraints.
I think she was pretty forthcoming about the fact that she was mixed race growing up in a mixed race household. Not being immersed in latino culture doesn't erase the fact that she still is part latino. Her experience with her mixed heritage is bound to be unique and I don't know why that can't be explored in the show.
pure blooded south americans have always been vicious to chicano and that's where the majority of the backlash stemmed from, showrunner couldn't take the heat.
Yeah, well the show is set in California and her dad is obviously white. The dumbasses just saw brown, heard a little spanglish and thought “mine”l then proceeded to b***h about how the show didn’t represent them…which it had never fricking set out to do.
morons.
>half latino
it's not a race dumbass, it's a culture. you either are or are not. not even 20 years living in another country are enough to erase a culture.
That's certainly something. I don't remember the last time they did something like that. Though from what I gather they are going to rename some of the characters so I guess it makes sense they'd remove the old intro for the new one that has the updated names.
Why is the art style so boring and ugly? It's not even the cool kind of ugly like Klasky Csupo. It looks like Family Guy but worse.
I really wished "The Ghost And Molly McGee" was more successful because it had an AMAZING art style. It could have been a good inspiration for future shows.
Does anyone actually have a link to the episodes other than the birthday/pilot one? All the old links to those episodes are dead and I’ve never been able to find anything but the pilot on other sites.
Nah Primos is garbage but i still think that is bullshit... we all know the real cursed show that come out the same day Toriyama died was Megamind vs the doom syndicate.
Maybe we'll be surprised and Primos will actually be good?
That would be a really interesting surprise considering that the Birthday episode was shit.
>Boring as hell and goes for too long >The primos are one note and annoying, i hope they improve later on >Both songs in the episode suck ass but thats my personal opinion >They make Tater do the same apology bullshit Lincoln does in the loud house >And the episode was really predictable
i like how this shitty show spawn a big argument across the globe and now everybody is aware that brown people in burgerland are discriminated by both sides. The series was never in a million years going to be about that though, is pretty obvious by the crew reaction to backlash that they want to rewrite the culture of an entire continent, as if everybody down here is the same.
Execs like to min-max their ratings.
If the lead VA says some dumb shit aimed at Latinos when the show is literally aimed at Latinos, then it might as well not air at all.
Ultimately, "spic" and the like are just insults.
"Latinx" is gringos' one too many times attempts at imposing their (current) way of thinking to Latinos and calling them bigots if they don't buy into it. >"Your language is gendered, thus it is evil and you are evil for not fixing it as we tell you"
By intention, it's become a slang word at this point too. You have people use the word ironically too and referring to each other with it kinda like when you have black people call each other homie.
because taking the word of your enemy and use it against them is the most effective and proven way to fight back.
Seriously is not rocket science, anyone who can take banter know this shit.
Because people who unironically say latinx are insufferable, patronizing morons. Most people who say Hispanic and wetback are just joking around or limit their racism to online shitposts.
people have been using @ for decades, is not common but it happens.
This moronic nonsense that everything has to be forced will never work. We were supposed to stop using "ñ" for some reason but so far nobody has done it and never will

Do they really believe government pandering to noisy unpopular minorities equals "popular"?
Ah, right... this is all to build a narrative, cause democracy is worth jackshit.
Reminder this is only a cancer coming from one letter, everything was fine until one attention prostitute group of .001% of the population cried that certain non-offensive things were offensive to them because it ruins their immersion of their mentally ill larp.
Calling someone Hispanic is the same as calling someone burger/britbong/aussie/chink/asiatic/europoor, it isn't an insult anymore. Now, saying "latinx" basically tells me that you are a homosexual who most likely eat vegan food because you care for the poor animals we kill to eat.
I wonder why the back was specifically targeted. If you had to cross a river you'd think the person would just be wet in general. Seems oddly specific.
I wouldn't be surprised if the VA got blacklisted for insulting a whole ass language spoken by millions in Tiktok. Or at least it should happen like that, but it won't.
>blacklisted
You guys really think people get blacklisted over the dumbest shit. She wasn't fired from Primos and she's still getting work. She deleted the response video and as much attention as it gets on Cinemaphile, it didn't blow up nearly as much as you all seem to think. People have said and done much worse and continued to be employed.
Her smug-ass response video annoyed me as much as anyone else, but she's going to be fine.
There aren't a lot (because it's kind of tough to get blacklisted). Roiland is probably the most recent example. Jay Johnston too. Neither were purely voice actors. Hard to say if Jay Johnston was actually blacklisted...he just lost the only role he was doing at the time which was on Bob's Burgers. It's possible he'll be back in something else.
again, THAT'S THE FRICKING POINT WHY IS THIS SO HARD FOR YOU, people in any other field would get blacklisted to hell for the dumbest shit, but VA's get a free pass and the reasons are obvious.

People get fired in any other field. They don’t get blacklisted very easily either.
But people have gotten blacklisted for less.
Gina Carano got nuked by Disney for stating that voting for a party that represents half of her country is not a crime and that she feels persecuted for doing so. A party that, mind you, Disney itself has donated lots of money to for decades. Carano also deleted her post and it still meant jack shit. Myrna's tiktok was plain insulting towards native spanish speakers from all over, many of the people that were defending Primos at that point even turned on her and she gets to keep her job despite not even apologizing.
No, Gina Carano got axed because she compared trump supporters to victims of the Holocaust. When she was warned, she doubled down. She had already come under fire several times for other shit. At the end of the day, she was more trouble than she was worth for her shitty wooden acting. Plus, Disney didn’t fire her, they just didn’t renew her contract which was up.
was going to respond seriously but >Plus, Disney didn’t fire her, they just didn’t renew her contract which was up.
either a zoomer who has never worked in his life or a mouse shill.
The other day I actually experienced the real life shift of Spanish to English in a conversation. But not how you'd expect. For someone like me who has very broken spanish, it only comes out as a means to bridge the gap when it comes to questions or trying to help someone when they speak absolutely no english. My boss got trapped in a 30-40 minute conversation with a woman who started out speaking English and then started shifting in spanish as she started talking longer and longer, and faster (the Irony of the situation being that my boss speaks more Spanish than me but completely lacks the accent so everything he says sounds very flat) and she would whiplash between Spanish to a short phrase of English, so it'd be like "(10 minutes of spanish) Isn't that crazy? but i was like (10 minutes of spanish) and that's what I thought you know, but it turns what it really meant (15 minutes of spanish) But yeah I could have never guessed, crazy right?" Holy shit it was like flooring the accelerator and than slamming on the breaks over and over again.
its biggest, main problem is that it should've made it clearer it's based on american-latino culture, which is its own really specific culture somewhat related to whatever culture they originally come from.
latinamericans are really anal about "authenticity" (see that time people got really mad about being reminded of the tacos in Turbo) so seeing stuff like botched spanish (oye primos instead of oigan primos) will get us defensive.especially if they try to pass it off as the authentic latino experience.
I think the best example of someone pulling it off, that is, american born latinamerican characters is Jorge Gutierrez, but it helps he is an actual mexican that grew in the border city of Tijuana so all the weird cultural contrast between mexicans and chicanos is like something second nature to him.
Natasha Kline is half-white living in LA so her experience is decidedly different from the "average" latino experience. This is not an insult to her or anything and I kind of hope everything turns out well for her, just that she should've known how weird latinamericans are about this shit.
TL;DR shit i dunno she needed to bounce the idea more along some immigrants more.
On the other hand, the shitposting was amazing. Like, since Tater's suburb is(was?) named "Terremoto(Earthquake) Heights" people just struck back with "School Shooting Falls" or some shit like that. Some shitposts were pretty fricking funny.
American IdMisc is extremely Anglo focused and falls apart when you try to apply it to Latinos in America, let alone actual LatAm. My family's from Puerto Rico and growing up I always found it weird how American produced media about "Latinos" would almost exclusively be mixed race brown Chicanos. I get it, a lot of this stuff is produced on the west coast and Mexico is the biggest neighbor but still.
I agree that maybe it'd be better off if the marketing was more honest but using "Latinx" everywhere really didn't help. A lot of the problem is less Primos itself and it being a poster child for multiple larger ongoing cultural conflicts.
I suspect one day we might see a similar conflict pop up with how American media views Asians as this vague Chinese/Japanese hybrid with a touch of Korean in recent years. Even with just the Chinese, the ethnic/cultural conflicts make the West look like a joke. Globally the racial solidarity shit doesn't really exist outside white Americans (plus some Euros) and black Americans.
It would be interesting if Primos actually featured characters with different backgrounds from all over Latin America(Puerto Ricans, Cubans, Peruvians, colombians, etc) and displayed the particular peculiarities of each. But I doubt the show is going expand much beyond the chicano family.
That could be a funny premise for a cartoon but I don't think it should be Primos since the creator already specified it's inspired by her experiences growing up rather than "Mexico Mexican" and I'd imagine it'd make things worse if it tried to address other cultures. The best I could see is the controversy getting addressed in a "new kid at school" episode where Tater fails to befriend them until it turns out they like the same games or something.
I don't have any idea if there's anything that could be done for Primos since a lot of it is just it becoming the face of corporations still failing to understand Latinos. Mostly as the funny talking brown masses to the south
The two whities are sibllings, the three cheerleaders are siblings, the striped shirts are brothers, the baby the rocker and the gay boy are siblings, and everybody else is an only child
rich israelite from cali wants to make a series to self-insert in and basically co-opts the chicano side of her family
she of course butchers the fricking SHIT out of spanish even worse than most CHIs normally do and this triggers literally every latin american on twitter.
then the MC's VA goes live on ins calling latams hispanics and claiming jumping the border was the best thing that happened to her.
>she of course butchers the fricking SHIT out of spanish even worse than most CHIs normally do and this triggers literally every latin american on twitter.
The amusing thing is that her supposed cover was actually the truth, as Tater not knowing proper Spanish is directly mentioned in the show itself
oye wasn't the problem per se. it's the "THIS IS LATIN AMERICAN REPRESENTATION" falacy that they pulled, because americans literally don't realize they have appropriated words that means things to foreigners.
it's unironically a failure in political correctness measures
Please tell me why every show nowadays is: >Hey kids! I am [insert ethnicity/religion/sexuality here]. Do you know what [insert ethnicity/religion/sexuality here] is?
Because you are a moronic animal shaped purely by the system that you're living in. The system is ignorant and evil, and it has oppressed talented and enlightened people, who happen to also be of a certain ethnicity/religion/sexuality (which is linked to their enlightened state). Now that these talented and enlightened people have some power and exposure, they're using it to lash out back at their oppressors. But because they are so good and enlightened and martyred like Jesus, they will also try to uplift your moronic animal ass. And so now the medium that taught you to hate your betters is used to reeducate you and to prevent future generations from becoming like you. That is the thinking.
>the use of random Spanish term to show "muh latinidad".
Ok, LatinAmerican anon here, I really need to ask... do Chicanos honestly, and I mean, HONESTLY talk like that? Do they call their cousins "primos" and their granny "abuela"?
When I talk in English, I never refer to family members by the Spanish equivalent of the word. It feels awkward and wrong.
Seconding this, I'm also a latino living in actual LatAm and I cringe every time I hear spanglish, please tell me it's not something they actually do over there
Anon that hung out with a hispanic bro for New Years, never once did he call his family members by the Spanish terms unless he was full on using Spanish. Only time I've seen that was in cartoons aimed at little kids like Dora.
>educational cartoons insert Spanish words with the intention of teaching English speaking kids Spanish >they just learn to insert Spanish words into English
Holy frick, hilarious if true.
Pretty much, I remember watching Dora and Miya & Miguel, and that's what they did. The characters would be living in the US (or some computer fantasy world in Dora's case) speaking full on English, occasionally dropping Spanish words like "abuela" and "la familia". Thing is, the show's weren't even about teaching Spanish, and if that was the point they did a poor job.
You can really tell by the way it is written that the show rellies solely on the ESG provided by being a "Latinx" (notice the quotation marks, please) show to be somewhat marketable.
One can also notice they were aiming for the Latino, or rather Hispanic public rather than the Chicano one as they later claimed.
>The pitch said "Primos" rather than "Oye Primos".
Now, this is interesting. I wonder what led them to change the title and how they felt of being forced to call it just "Primos" again after the backlash.
So ignoring the crust and usual esg homosexualry, does anyone wanna talk about how depressing and even dare I say fricking toxic this pitch is.
It's just pretty bullshit wrapped around "accept it when people are terrible influences in your life no matter what, you don't need to change ever, there can be no escapism, only reality" in a homosexualry esg wrapper.
The leaked plot was all about how French Fried Potater is a total b***h for very calmly and politely expressing disappointment in her shithead cousins ruining her birthday.
>Primos showcases a Latinx multi-generational family in intimate ways unique to this show >Primos showcases an endearing and inspiring Latinx family >Hispanics are the most underrepresented ethnicity group in kids media compared to census
Notice how they never use Chicano in this bible pitch, they definitely wants latinoamerica to watch this at the beginning and started to say "this is for mexicans who grow up in usa" after the controversy.
>Notice how they never use Chicano in this bible pitch
chicano to americans is an 80s/90s term. Modern CHIs use hispanic, pocho or in some weird cases cholo.
only modern chis to use chicano are gangsta wannabes
By contract? Most probably, it is almost mandatory for Disney to greenlit two seasons of any new show.
So, saying you got a second season means jackshit in the grand scheme of things. Getting a third season says a lot about your show, and not getting a second implies you screwed up horribly.
None of the kids look ugly or horrendous as the show is making them out to be.
Why did they choose this stupid design?
Who was in charge of the character design?
These guys really took a peek at Casagrandes and Victor & Valentino and said: "Awesome! Lets's make our authentic hispanic cast butt ugly to the point some of them don't even resemble humans. Everyone will love them!" And then proceed to act surprised when people react accordingly and absolutely nobody feels represented.
Wow. Qué semana…
Has a cartoon creator ever been BTFO this hard before? Like, before the show even released?
Man, this really feel like whole "Latino" representation show rather than Chicano one, if they still make this show go through as the Latino show people will shit on it even more.
Do you have to have to be a brown person with a sob story and tell your illegal immigration background to get a cartoon these days? Serious question. This doesn't seem like a cartoon pitch.
This is literally someone's shithole latinx life they made into a cartoon. It actually lines up with all the other brown girl cartoons, too. Is it really just about brownoids telling their story? No wonder there's no good cartoons anymore.
>urban and lower income living situations are under-represented >most series feature suburban, middle income living situations >set show in the past when a lower income family could afford to live in a large detached suburban house, totally unrelatable to the poor kids of today they claim to be representing
i would be more interested in watching her authentic chicana experience that may alienate some people rather than trying to dilute latinamerican identity trying to apease everybody (and failing)

This
there's a lot to explain but i think >semi-popular mexican "critic" youtuber >convinces himself he's a white aryan and not your average mexican lighter-skinned mestizo (see pic) >consistently humilliates himself by being a moron that thinks he's an erudite adonis of some sort, thus: lolcow >gets surrounded by a bunch of weirdo ass-kissers that think they're ""based"" but keep on making the stupidest decisions humanly posible. >artist of meme is a self-hating brown gay furry chilean white supremacist guy (yeah) from his circle making a joke but it's kind of obvious the güero balazos is kind of based on his "blonde" lolcow friend. >lolcow guy and other friends open publishing house to publish a comic based on this comic since idiots swallowed this meme whole. >they run it into the ground because it's shit, all the artists suck, it's too expensive and doesn't deliver.
i think that's about it? might be misremembering some stuff, i don't really give too much of a shit about it but saw a video about it like 2 years ago and this is what i remember relating to the güero balazos.
other better artists took over it to make fun of it but also making a way better comic in the process.
some people managed to convince the animan studios guy (the gay porn animator that did that man with gigantic ass animation that became a meme for a while) to take the characters and make a gay porn animation based on it too so that was funny i guess.
Let's put this shit into perspective:
"mixed girl who grew up with half-assed spanish" aside Nu-Disney desperately wants to make everyone belive that after decades of doing a piss job at representing foreign cultures (and even their own country culture, at some point) they are now a bastion of inclusivity that lives and breathes multiculturalism in the most correct and accurate form
But now, they just sliped that they went as far as NAMING a soon to air show in the wrong manner, and there was no one with a basic understand of spanish present on any of the multiple levels dedicated to producing and brainstorming this project, even when studios today have entire sectors dedicated on nothing else but this type of research. Plus, Disney productions are based on California of all places, and there was not a single legit hired beaner anywhere, not even a cleaning lady to look at the screen once and say "Hey! That's weird!"
As a black anon, I think they did the original Proud Family well, like even my mom watched the show with me and my sisters. Penny's friends were still shit though.
>The Good Times
Can't say much about the original (in terms of shows about black families I watched Fresh Prince, The Cosby Show, The Bernie Mac Show, Family Matters and Everybody Hates Chris), but man, this animated reboot just hits all my "this ain't right" buttons. It's nice that the main family is continued from the original, but this show clearly wants to be "Black Family Guy" when we've already seen that tried already... and it didn't work. Like why the frick is the baby a drug dealer?
I'm still pissed off no one downloaded the episode that leaked in 2023 (the fully animated ones that were uploaded to mega.nz for like an hour at most) especially now that it's confirmed that they're changing the voices. This is literally lost media now even if the episodes do come out, we still won't have the original unchanged voice versions. All because it's being gatekept in the hands of leakers
Seven episodes?! Frick. Somebody must have hated working on this show, no other recent cartoon show has gotten leaked to this extend. They probably expected people to find something upsetting in them before Disney pulled the plug.
She's not thicc, but she isn't even Goblina-levels ugly.
Why do most modern showrunners have such low self-esteem?

Her art style is just that… Least with Primos it’s a more tamed style that if you continue to look at long enough it’s not as bad. I’ve watched the first 4 episodes and the story boarded pilot and I’m already well used to the character designs. It’s just Natasha’s style tamed down to that of Big City Greens and Gravity Falls. Definitely more easy on the eyes in motion than the pitch pible/select frames.
It being hand drawn animation rather than straight up rigged also gives it that Harvey Beaks charm.
The Mom's Primos have normal appealing designs, even their unibrown girl doesn't look bad at all and is actually pretty cute compared to chacha. They went too far with the main cast.
bueno
Eventually a company gets tired of bad publicity. They might just not want to open up this can of worms again.
Wouldn't then make sense to dismiss it as a loss, mark is as a tax-write off and not release it?
Well, it's Disney. It would be Oswald all over again
Because adults are practically the only ones watching these shows
I'm not even joking
Why is latinx cvltvre served to us on a shit smeared platter?
the CIA is in kahoots with disney
When was the last time glowies gave a damn about latam? The Evo Morales ousting that failed because his party just took his place?
its Latino you homosexual gaymerican
>he doesn't know
Calm down latinx.
Because you're getting served a Chicano slop abomination from people that culturally are as Latino as the average czech
>Left makes fun of Americans for only seeing LatAm as Mexico
>Right is literally nothing but Mexican-related myths and stereotypes
This one really has gotten my noggin joggin, what did he meme by this, now that the dust has settled?
Presumably the right show is based in Mexico and not Latin America at large. Well, maybe Guero Balazos would have a 2 episode arc where he goes to Peru to shoot some Inca monsters.
>Güero Balazos travels to Ecuador to take back the Mexican embassy
*Combat rolls into the Embassy*
"Put down the ambassador, La Creatura! or Taste the fire of my Dragon Gun!"
"Ha! You are too late White Gunshots, for in just a matter of hours, the first Hamburguesas de Rusty will open up, in MEXICO CITY!"
"YOU FIEND FROM HELL!"
>GÜERO Balazos shot peruvian mommies and restore the good will between Mexico and Ecuador
>GÜERO Balazos frick hundred of south American b***hes.
We live in the worse timeline ever
>Peruvian mommies
Vicky and her daugher are really cute
Right is set entirely in Mexico and does not claim or care to represent the rest of the subcontinent
the right panel is a movie made by a mexican you morons do like 2 seconds of research + watch a good movie for once in your lives

how did he know
it was made by a chilean gay furry in denial trying to be "based" and to kiss ass to his kind of popular wannabe nazi lolcow mexican friend and people still repost this slop.
I would rather have mexican Hos Delgado fighting skeletons over Sergio and his Burger King club friends.
I wouldn't be shilling Güero Balazos, especially knowing who made it
Good point Aether is a fricking moron but eh at least thanks to his garbage comic we got El Guere Balazxs
And la Catalina was kinda cute

This
People love talking about shit like everyone else is up to date on the latest drama around here
damn, this small meme got a whole new meaning after learning the whole can of worms that is the story behind the creation of el wero balazos
I love this meme because of how easily it triggers Doomposters.
>YA TE VI DUN
I'm Ruina.
This fricking comic is more annoying than any gringo slop you all pretend to care about
Too bad the creator of this meme joimed the dark side due to weakness.
can someone please explain the shit behind the dude who made this meme please?
This is specifically Chicano culture, not Latin American culture
Then it should only be shown for chicanos instead of what was likely planned, which was for it to be shown across the world.
Aztec human sacrifices
it will run a single season with no advertisement or fanfare before being quietly shelved indefinitely
Good, most of the designs are ugly as shit. Like what the hell is that Gremlin next to the one holding the beaker?
Receding hairline. Unibrow. Poverty clothes. Horrid teeth. I couldn't have made a more offensive characature if I tried.
Exactly, like who the frick is this design for? Is it supposed to be funny? Its just disgusting
This shit comes in june so we have to wait.
No one going to watch.
Not even the contrarians
are you kidding? Cinemaphile will be obsessed with it.
There'll be weekly threads talking about how shit it is or how bad it isn't. And Multiple "now that the dust has settled" type plurks when the season is over
Ah, so just like the gays pretending the care about He-Man and saying Revelations and Revolutions were good?
Who are you kidding many of us will watch it for the sake of having something new to watch and shitpost about together.
Half of Cinemaphile is hate watching
At worst we can make reaction images
Regardless of how cute it would be it is just another joo propaganda like Libby was
It could have been as simple as Katz was pitched after Primos was accepted and there was no more room for new shows.
Covid really fricked everything up for Disney. Shit was rushed, pitches didn't have the same "magic" being done over zoom, and it was harder for new blood to have their ideas heard
sauce on that info?
the lead character's VA did
>the lead character's VA did
Sauce please. I think she left twitter and that's about it. If she was receiving tons of hate messages, she may have deactivated the account just to not have to deal with it, but that doesn't necessarily mean she had a mental breakdown over it.
it's almost hypnotizing how bad the character designs are. la goblina especially.
good
It's honestly hilarious how insecure hispanics got over this shit lol
They're waiting for the establishment of "newspeak" to change grammar, so that the fricking Show's name makes sense.
This made me scroll up to the OP to see if she was actually a Primo design. I never noticed she was there before somehow.
Lindos pies
Looking forward to seeing more drawings (non-fetish as well) of the shows best girl.
Best girl you say??
Fricking garbage
jajaja
asqueroso
llego el cperuano
¡oye primos!
She is the sister 9 years old yet taller than Tatter.
I think that's the point, her sister is Taller, prettier and smarter despite being younger.
She also has a more mature voice. It's a strange choice making her the younger sister.
Regardless, she has the best design.
don't particularly care to see my culture shown with such low hanging fruit stereotypes. not all of us live or look like this.
The lisa clone and the one next to her are the only acceptable looking characters.
Didn't the creator have a mental breakdown over the hate? Can someone post it?

Spanish, colonizer language. Unlike English that is
Am I the only one who sees this as Disney ripping off the casagrandes by making they're own bootleg.
Nope, Disney has always been like this. Like when they wanted to have their own Ren & Stimpy back in the 90s
Pith Possum and Tex Tinstar were both great, it's a shame they were trapped as supporting shows in Schnookums and Meat
Nah i was calling it a Loud House Clone the day i watch the animatic episode

If, you watch this new show after it is good or bad reviews. Hmm.
summer is not out yet
I dont see the appeal in yet another latino slice of life cartoon. At least something like Encanto had an interesting setting beyond "lol mexicans". How do these make any money?? Who tf cares about watching cartoons about overcrowded poor people besides overcrowded poor people?
One, ‘Encanto’ is Colombian. Two, the real question is whether they’ll make the same mistakes as with ‘The Casagrandes’.
I like how latinos kept bragging about how they didn't care about how they were represented because they have tough skin and embrace the stereotypes but then this came out and they went apeshit
Primos still garbage try looking for real arguments to defend this shit next time 🙂
have a nice day. The other anon is right, beaners are fricking low test morons who deserve to be relegate to menial labor.
Damn what a weak argument to defend this show, are you contrarians even trying?
The Primo "fandom" is losing the fricking plot
What plot? That wetbacks are thin-skinned?
Which is good because if you let this slide then they will keep making woke shit just like they do with black people.
If they made a cartoon with mexican kids who are obsess with soccer and eating tacos I bet you the complaints would not even match this cartoon. In fact it would probably be a hit.
Nataliebros our time will come
we will suck those toes
DAS RITE
Please for the love of god, dont make this character suck.
Same with this girl, i hope they make her likeable.
Wait is this from the chapulín colorado?
No is from Doctor Chapatin, another show and character from Chespirito.
Makes sense, freaking love that guy skits
Old timey Mexican jokes are so silly and dumb, they have a lot of charm
>ripping off chespirito
If shilling Chespirito didnt worked for BlueBeetle it wont work here.
TFW her voice actress is a giant brap fetishist
I know Melissa Villasenor performs at SNL. Wtf?
Wait what?
Nah i will fricking burn it with a flamethrower
As it shouldn't.
I still don't understand why did Caballeros get such a shitty treatment from Disney
Disney put effort studying both brazuca and mexichango culture back in the day at least. Andean representation here, however, was so bad it was literally the main reason Condorito was created
>Chilean representation in 40s Disney
A gay airplane
>Chilean representation in modern Disney
A gay actor
Did he came out of the closet?
Give it some time.
Like a constipated turd. Fitting, Disney is so very full of shit.
It should have been Katz Cafe and you know it. Can't believe Primos was chosen over it
I was a DTVA employee until last November. Katz Cafe was never real, let it go. At this point you all Katgays are just embarrassing.
You have to be insane to believe Primos was more deserving to have been made as an actual show over Katz Cafe
doesent the show have a creator?
Cheyenne Curtis?
Every pitch deck that was blatantly autobiographical should have been rejected with a threat of blacklisting
And literally nothing of value was loss.
The whole Florida thing happened under Chapek's control, and the worst part Is that it happened because people at Disney like Dana Terrace and the Ghost and Molly McGee's creators were whining about the Mouse donating money to Republicans.
attempt at the latin market.
Does Katz Cafe even really exist as a concept? Or was it a hoax
Also, it looked very one-note
It has a pitch bible leaked, but it looks like it never made it past that step. Even the bible didn't really seem like it had much planned out.
So did Chosen (also an alleged Disney pitch just like KC) and yet it's totally a hoax. And it follows the same formula, young girl in a business, except for Chosen it's a circus.
and where is that?
Katz was real alongside Chosen is just
being a contrarian making people think they are some Anytown hoaxes.
>Anytown
I didn't name Anytown. How do you know about it? And you know about Chosen too. Suspicious as frick.
You're the hoaxer making the fake show bibles, aren't you.
%3D%3D
I hope there's a rise in fan art of Ginger beating the living shit out of Tater come this June as an act of revenge for Katz Cafe getting cucked by Primos
This reminds me of the autismos still upset over that shitty cat hipsters series pitch that lost out to Billy & Mandy
have a nice day
this thread is full of only child cope, bet all you played growing up were single player games. I'm sorry you didn't have a family.
I have a bunch of cousins and i still think this show will be garbage.
Katz Cafe could've been a classic in the making while Primos is just the result of Disney trying to cash-in on Loud House but even more shitty, ugly and unoriginal
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Dios...
What the frick is that shit?
the average american child
more like the worst golem ever
SANTA MARIA
?feature=shared
I wonder if the Primos disaster affected this other show which is basically latina Miraculous
>SuperStar
>Fourteen-year-old Alejandra Fuentes (Ale) is a starry-eyed musically gifted Latina eager to share her music with the world. Eventually she will embrace this persona as an extension of her authentic self and step into her own power, finally giving herself permission to become both the badass superhero and superstar she was always meant to be.
>badass
hm
They have an upcoming Proud Family latino spin-off, they don't care
>Nu-Proud writers handling a latino show
That's gonna be so bad
>they don't care
fpfp, Neon Galaxy by Molly Knox Ostertag aslo has latino mcs
>[ CORAL ] 15-18 year old sounding female (teens/adults only). Afro-Latine. Equal parts talent and ambition, Coral leads Neon Galaxy. She’s charismatic but with a fragile interior only a few people know. Her ambition is tied to a chronic illness that makes her reliant on others, and she really wants to prove her independence. A big dreamer with a big personality.
is there a pitch bible for that?
>Afro-Latine
>Afro-latinos
What's up with the obsession with pandering to that group in California lately? Luz was also described like that despite not looking black at all or even resembling the woman she is supposed to be based on.
I have ZERO interest...except in potential porn.
that one future episode where penny is all grown up. I can feel that design was meant for someone else.
Penny dressing like some latina and not some deep dark african with rings all over her neck.
I really do wonder who watches this stuff besides Youtubers needed their ad paycheck for the month.
>latina Miraculous
You have my attention. That blurb doesn't sound too bad. Though I imagine this may still see quite a few changes still before we really see any more of it. Was there anything else about this series shared yet? I'm honestly surprised to see this is a Disney shown. I didn't remember seeing this show in the previously mentioned upcoming Disney animated shows.
Somewhat, but the entire budget crisis is probably a bigger factor.
Not holding much hope but at leasat that one doesn't sound turbo moronic.
Those living rent-free in my head are saying:
>Little will be an enbie, maybe with a sprinkle of neurodivergent
>Girl will be bi
>Boy will be straight
>Jock will be gay
>Butch will be gay and/or trans
So we've gone from brown girl isekai to musical superhero girl shows
She's a first generation inmigrant so SuperStar might as well also count as an Isekai. lol
>primos made all the latino projects get cancelled
>after the creator spent months arguing about slavery and inclusion, causing herself and peers to lose their jobs
i think there is some kind of weird irony into all of this
>South american parents
Any guesses of from where her family comes from? Let's see.
>Too brown to be from the cono sur(Chile, Argentina and Uruguay)
>Spanish, so obviously not Brazillian or Guyanese.
>Bolivia, Ecuador, and Paraguay don't exist. Period.
That leaves us with Peru, Colombia and Venezuela. DTVA are a bunch of leftists so they won't portray Venezuela as a piece of shit worth fleeing from since it's a socialist paradise. Soooo....
But ‘Hamster & Gretel’ has Venezuelans as the stars.
Isn't the latina mom a step mom?
No. They’re just using a double-barrelled name.
>>Too brown to be from the cono sur(Chile, Argentina and Uruguay)
You are giving them too much research credit. For them, "real latinos" from South America are tanned at best, black at worst. Lighter tone skin, even more white skin? Colonizers, so they don't count.
I think it has less to do with lack of research and more to do with wanting to avoid backlash from people accusing them of whitewashing.
Mexico.
>The series was inspired by Kline's childhood summers living with her cousins alongside her extended Mexican-American family and she wanted the lead characters to also be of Mexican-American heritage due to the lack of Mexican-American representation on television during her childhood
I was talking about the protagonist of SuperStar
Yeah because regular Ladybug ended up being so well.
Ladybug is a merchandising juggernaut. What are you talking about?
Where the hell is this? It's apparently a Toys R Us, but is this really in the US? I had to look it up because I refuse to believe it's this popular here. I've never heard anyone say anything but negative things about the show, especially in recent seasons.
It's probably Paris. They even have a full size Ladybug statue there.

Why is every DTVA protagonist a halfbreed now?
Lunella is pure
DEI and ESG
That was always the case. Jake Long was half Asain decades before people started putting characters under a microscope.
>>show is about half latino child who doesn't speak spanish as a first language and has never been truly immersed in latino culture
this is why people are mad in the first place
it feels like a half-assed "i'm totally [nationality] even though i've lived in america my entire life" kinda thing, i fricking hate when people do that shit because it just says to me that americans are so uninteresting they have to grasp onto their grandparents' nationalities in an attempt to seem more than they actually are
>>has never been truly immersed in latino culture
>tries to make it is entire identity anyway
Sorry, I don't care how good pegasus fantasy is. uh chicanon, everyone grew with the song of the errors, you can sing it literally anywhere in the country, hell IN THE ENTIRE CONTINTENT and people will have a chuckle.

>I always feel bad when people from Spanish speaking countries see me and see my name tag with my painfully Spanish first name at my job and think they've finally found someone who can speak Spanish
How the frick does that even happen, at age 5 of all things? Your parents should be more disappointed in themselves.
It’s common. A lot of immigrants want to assimilate as much as possible so they’ll try to make their children shed all of their old identity.
(Mom lost out on a front desk job at a chiropractor/physical therapist when during the interview questioning about her knowledge of anatomy she referred to the armpit as "Sovaco")

now this is an interesting conflict (difference made by latinamericans against american born latinos) and it's probably worth exploring it. and hell, maybe it's also the idea behind the show itself but it should've been made clearer it's not the ""authentic"" latino experience (whatever the frick that is) latinamericans get so mad about.

The dumbasses just saw brown, heard a little spanglish and thought “mine”l then proceeded to b***h about how the show didn’t represent them…which it had never fricking set out to do.
morons.
problem stem with chicanos appropiating the name and "idea" of latino like.
How many Disney shows take place in California anyway?
Dumbass.
>half latino
it's not a race dumbass, it's a culture. you either are or are not. not even 20 years living in another country are enough to erase a culture.
The US census disagrees with you
The US census is also shit
I guess we’ll just default to you, a random butthole, to decide what is a race and what is not.
Okay, we'll look at the census and how it categorizes things. Point me to where it talks about the "Latino race".

I do hope the character designer gets more work in the future. His whimsical style is fun to look at
Those two kids with gaps between their teeth look so ugly. Looks like they have cleft lip
can't wait for Disney to die, hopefully it will get nuked when WWIII starts.
Any idea when we'll get news on upcoming DTVA shows?
How am I supposed to know that? No one knows yet.

Some animator leaked these images shorty before Toriyama passed. Creepypasta style.
We've had those for almost a year now anon. The whole episode it comes from even. That one is old news.
I have been tricked
Wait, is there a different leaked episode other than the Birthday episode?
Yes. That one and an episode about Tater dealing with her primos first moving in and trying to claim her space.
Does anyone actually have a link to the episodes other than the birthday/pilot one? All the old links to those episodes are dead and I’ve never been able to find anything but the pilot on other sites.
People are going to mock this scene by saying: "You will never be her".
ww know why he died then
Nah Primos is garbage but i still think that is bullshit... we all know the real cursed show that come out the same day Toriyama died was Megamind vs the doom syndicate.
That would be a really interesting surprise considering that the Birthday episode was shit.
>the Birthday episode was shit.
What was bad about it?
>Boring as hell and goes for too long
>The primos are one note and annoying, i hope they improve later on
>Both songs in the episode suck ass but thats my personal opinion

>And the episode was really predictable
But eh maybe it was one of the bad ones.

It would have to be Hey Arnold! tier slice of life kino
i like how this shitty show spawn a big argument across the globe and now everybody is aware that brown people in burgerland are discriminated by both sides. The series was never in a million years going to be about that though, is pretty obvious by the crew reaction to backlash that they want to rewrite the culture of an entire continent, as if everybody down here is the same.
why do latinx's get so mad when their grammar was butchered, but are okay with butchering our language?
They don't have a savior complex and claim they're "fixing" English
I am feeling sorry for wathever that is going to sing the Primos intro in the lat dub
Good, saves us all the stress of having to deal with it.

Isn’t this the show where they accidentally named a baby character after a term for pussy?
No it isn’t
why the frick are you asking this question when you already know the answer?
Wow. Qué semana…
Has a cartoon creator ever been BTFO this hard before? Like, before the show even released?
Didn't she cuck Matt Groening's sister and married the Hey Arnold creator?
Execs like to min-max their ratings.
If the lead VA says some dumb shit aimed at Latinos when the show is literally aimed at Latinos, then it might as well not air at all.
>when the show is literally aimed at Latinos
it's aimed at chicanos when it says it's aimed at latinos.
>it's aimed at chicanos when it says it's aimed at latinos
True, but the issue is that execs think those two are the same thing.
That's because chicanos think they are latinos.
That the Primos crew is saying otherwise now is just a cop out due to the backlash
>Say "latinx" and you get lots of (you)s
>Say "wetback" or "spic" and nobody gives a frick anymore
How did Latinx became the hispanic n-word?
The people pushing latinx are actually a threat.
Because people who unironically say latinx are insufferable, patronizing morons. Most people who say Hispanic and wetback are just joking around or limit their racism to online shitposts.
Because it keeps coming fricking back no matter what
Did you know "Latinx" was the second draft idea? Before, they considered "Latin@" since they see the @ as an a inside an O.
people have been using @ for decades, is not common but it happens.
This moronic nonsense that everything has to be forced will never work. We were supposed to stop using "ñ" for some reason but so far nobody has done it and never will
What's wrong with ñ?
i'm no idea, i was told at school that i shouldn't include it in the alphabet and pretend it didn't exist. That was 20 years ago, and apparently noboy ever listened.
Just ignore him, he's off his marbles, the ñ is seen as like an icon of the Spanish language since it's a unique letter to the language, it's not going anywhere.
>i'm off my marbles for saying i ignore what i was told at school
ask me how i know you are from spain
how the frick is supposed to work?
moño (bun, bow) mono (monkey)
caña (cane) cana (gray hair)
why not just keep it at Latin? it sounds better and makes more sense. the X doesn't even belong to the spanish language.
IF i had to I would prefer "u" as in Latinus. Because ya know it sounds roman and shit.
>Hola, onions un Latinu no-binario
No suena tan gay
>the term is becoming more popular
>even some goverment offices have adopted using it
Do they really believe government pandering to noisy unpopular minorities equals "popular"?
Ah, right... this is all to build a narrative, cause democracy is worth jackshit.
Can we just call everyone south of the border Mexicans again?
Reminder this is only a cancer coming from one letter, everything was fine until one attention prostitute group of .001% of the population cried that certain non-offensive things were offensive to them because it ruins their immersion of their mentally ill larp.
Calling someone Hispanic is the same as calling someone burger/britbong/aussie/chink/asiatic/europoor, it isn't an insult anymore. Now, saying "latinx" basically tells me that you are a homosexual who most likely eat vegan food because you care for the poor animals we kill to eat.
"wetback" or "spic" are not very good insults
to this day i have no idea what any means really.
ESL is an stronger insult, and that's not even an insult lmao
Wetback is because you had to cross the river to get to the US
Hispanic is more dubious but seems that be shared to anyone that speaks spanish
"Spic" is just the shortening of "hispanic"
I wonder why the back was specifically targeted. If you had to cross a river you'd think the person would just be wet in general. Seems oddly specific.
I wonder what the director and main VA are thinking after how poorly their "damage control" went
I wouldn't be surprised if the VA got blacklisted for insulting a whole ass language spoken by millions in Tiktok. Or at least it should happen like that, but it won't.
women have inmunity, there is always a simp ready to bent the knee
Her smug-ass response video annoyed me as much as anyone else, but she's going to be fine.
>writting this entire shit word salad
as that anon said, it should but it won't.
People don't get blacklisted that easily
What are some cases of blacklisted VAs?
Plus, Disney didn’t fire her, they just didn’t renew her contract which was up.
was going to respond seriously but
>Plus, Disney didn’t fire her, they just didn’t renew her contract which was up.
either a zoomer who has never worked in his life or a mouse shill.

Mostly as the funny talking brown masses to the south
>make a cartoon targeted and made by chicanos.
>Shocked when every Hispanic hates it.
I love diversity.
What's up with the white Primos? Gordita, The snake dude and the blonde baby. Are they part the white dad's side of the family? Are they siblings?
Yes
Read the Know your Meme article
The two whities are sibllings, the three cheerleaders are siblings, the striped shirts are brothers, the baby the rocker and the gay boy are siblings, and everybody else is an only child
so i missed all shit but heard a little of it
so what exactly happened?
Nothing.
No idea
rich israelite from cali wants to make a series to self-insert in and basically co-opts the chicano side of her family
she of course butchers the fricking SHIT out of spanish even worse than most CHIs normally do and this triggers literally every latin american on twitter.
then the MC's VA goes live on ins calling latams hispanics and claiming jumping the border was the best thing that happened to her.
Honestly, the funniest thing that's happened with a modern cartoon in a long time.
>she of course butchers the fricking SHIT out of spanish even worse than most CHIs normally do and this triggers literally every latin american on twitter.
Please tell me why every show nowadays is:
>Hey kids!
That is the thinking.
good
They actually used Latinx in the pitch bible.
Everytime I see that repulsive balding goblina on the left my mind gets raided by impure thoughts of violence.
Same, but it’s whenever I see that one Black person homosexual with the pink hair.
>the use of random Spanish term to show "muh latinidad".
I don’t, but some of my other family members do.
If they didn't, how would you be able to tell they are AUTHENTIC
Seconding this, I'm also a latino living in actual LatAm and I cringe every time I hear spanglish, please tell me it's not something they actually do over there
Anon that hung out with a hispanic bro for New Years, never once did he call his family members by the Spanish terms unless he was full on using Spanish. Only time I've seen that was in cartoons aimed at little kids like Dora.
>educational cartoons insert Spanish words with the intention of teaching English speaking kids Spanish
>they just learn to insert Spanish words into English
Holy frick, hilarious if true.
Pretty much, I remember watching Dora and Miya & Miguel, and that's what they did. The characters would be living in the US (or some computer fantasy world in Dora's case) speaking full on English, occasionally dropping Spanish words like "abuela" and "la familia". Thing is, the show's weren't even about teaching Spanish, and if that was the point they did a poor job.
Abuela is abue or abuelita, anything else is rude as frick
You can really tell by the way it is written that the show rellies solely on the ESG provided by being a "Latinx" (notice the quotation marks, please) show to be somewhat marketable.
One can also notice they were aiming for the Latino, or rather Hispanic public rather than the Chicano one as they later claimed.
>The pitch said "Primos" rather than "Oye Primos".
Now, this is interesting. I wonder what led them to change the title and how they felt of being forced to call it just "Primos" again after the backlash.
>the key to familly is unconditional support and acceptance,
recipe for murder suicide and tragedy
So ignoring the crust and usual esg homosexualry, does anyone wanna talk about how depressing and even dare I say fricking toxic this pitch is.
It's just pretty bullshit wrapped around "accept it when people are terrible influences in your life no matter what, you don't need to change ever, there can be no escapism, only reality" in a homosexualry esg wrapper.
It's so bad. Modern cartoons offer nothing to aspire to.
>Modern cartoons offer nothing to aspire to
Good preparation for modern life I suppose.
The leaked plot was all about how French Fried Potater is a total b***h for very calmly and politely expressing disappointment in her shithead cousins ruining her birthday.
Pilot, I meant. the animatic.
It’s like early Loud House but worse.
>Primos showcases a Latinx multi-generational family in intimate ways unique to this show
>Primos showcases an endearing and inspiring Latinx family
>Hispanics are the most underrepresented ethnicity group in kids media compared to census
Notice how they never use Chicano in this bible pitch, they definitely wants latinoamerica to watch this at the beginning and started to say "this is for mexicans who grow up in usa" after the controversy.
Agree
And the masses ate it all up
>Notice how they never use Chicano in this bible pitch
chicano to americans is an 80s/90s term. Modern CHIs use hispanic, pocho or in some weird cases cholo.
only modern chis to use chicano are gangsta wannabes
Sid died for this
She died because her show was garbage, Misha.
It was doing ok on Nick though. Di$ney paid off Nickelodeon to kill off the show so Primos wouldn't have competition.
That’s a nice theory. Why don’t you back it up with a source?
>Why don’t you back it up with a source?

Yeah
I'll still trash this show, specially when obviously Disney is going to market this as Latino heritage thing.
Is Disney going to market it at all or pull a Billy Dilley, bomb drop the whole show through a month and forget about it?
Don't tell me this show already has a second season already greenlit
By contract? Most probably, it is almost mandatory for Disney to greenlit two seasons of any new show.
So, saying you got a second season means jackshit in the grand scheme of things. Getting a third season says a lot about your show, and not getting a second implies you screwed up horribly.
This show is just an ESG score generator.

Everyone will love them!" And then proceed to act surprised when people react accordingly and absolutely nobody feels represented.
>Victor and Valentino
Oh you mean the show that in concept art they were just Kaneda and Yajirobe but then becomr calarts abominations?
Man, this really feel like whole "Latino" representation show rather than Chicano one, if they still make this show go through as the Latino show people will shit on it even more.
Do you have to have to be a brown person with a sob story and tell your illegal immigration background to get a cartoon these days? Serious question. This doesn't seem like a cartoon pitch.
This is literally someone's shithole latinx life they made into a cartoon. It actually lines up with all the other brown girl cartoons, too. Is it really just about brownoids telling their story? No wonder there's no good cartoons anymore.
>urban and lower income living situations are under-represented
>most series feature suburban, middle income living situations
>set show in the past when a lower income family could afford to live in a large detached suburban house, totally unrelatable to the poor kids of today they claim to be representing
i would be more interested in watching her authentic chicana experience that may alienate some people rather than trying to dilute latinamerican identity trying to apease everybody (and failing)
there's a lot to explain but i think
>semi-popular mexican "critic" youtuber
>convinces himself he's a white aryan and not your average mexican lighter-skinned mestizo (see pic)
>consistently humilliates himself by being a moron that thinks he's an erudite adonis of some sort, thus: lolcow
>gets surrounded by a bunch of weirdo ass-kissers that think they're ""based"" but keep on making the stupidest decisions humanly posible.
>artist of meme is a self-hating brown gay furry chilean white supremacist guy (yeah) from his circle making a joke but it's kind of obvious the güero balazos is kind of based on his "blonde" lolcow friend.
>lolcow guy and other friends open publishing house to publish a comic based on this comic since idiots swallowed this meme whole.
>they run it into the ground because it's shit, all the artists suck, it's too expensive and doesn't deliver.
i think that's about it? might be misremembering some stuff, i don't really give too much of a shit about it but saw a video about it like 2 years ago and this is what i remember relating to the güero balazos.
other better artists took over it to make fun of it but also making a way better comic in the process.
some people managed to convince the animan studios guy (the gay porn animator that did that man with gigantic ass animation that became a meme for a while) to take the characters and make a gay porn animation based on it too so that was funny i guess.
If I was Natasha’s cousin, and she drew me like this, I’d be pissed.
X2
There's more culturally sensitive representation in The Nutshack and I'm not even joking
>Cookita
I HATE CHICANOS
I FRICKING HATE CHICANOS SO MUCH
>buela
is this a typo or a moronic way of chicanos to call their grannies? because atleast in mexico we call them "Abue", "Abuelita or just "Abuela""
Or tita
The theme song was set to private.
Does this mean we're getting a trailer and a revised theme song soon?
Yep, that means the Cookita cut is now lost and they’re going to start promoting Peakmos and all its glory.
?feature=shared
What does Tanis being cute have to do with Primos?
As a black anon, I think they did the original Proud Family well, like even my mom watched the show with me and my sisters. Penny's friends were still shit though.
As a black anon, what do you think of The Good Times remake? People were comparing it to Primos.
It's going through sensitivity viewing, hence the delay. It might suck when it comes out.
i miss el tigre
que lastima
Frida a cutie!
Is there a chance we see a trailer next week?
Jesus christ, just let this thread die.... this ain't a Primos thread anymore, this just became a /misc/ thread.
What are you talking about? This thread isn't like /misc/ at all
Good, let it die.
Nel
I know somebody has leaks. Can people at least repost the first episode leak while we wait?
https://archive.org/details/i72vyo
is it true the unibrow girl was called little pussy?
>it will have a 5 de Mayo episode
bump
Why are you bumping this distilled autistic thread? Why?
GOOD
To be fair, they're little girls. They shouldn't be sexualized
The frick is Kiff doing there?
Tater cute
I'm still pissed off no one downloaded the episode that leaked in 2023 (the fully animated ones that were uploaded to mega.nz for like an hour at most) especially now that it's confirmed that they're changing the voices. This is literally lost media now even if the episodes do come out, we still won't have the original unchanged voice versions. All because it's being gatekept in the hands of leakers
Damn, there must be somebody seriously pissed off in DTVA to leak entire episodes so ahead of time.
Downloaded it.
Not posting it.
Post an screenshot or it's bs
bullshit
>now that it's confirmed that they're changing the voices
source?
People keep saying this shit, but I've yet to see one bit of evidence.
Wasn't it just fully animated for the first minutes and then the rest was just storyboards? I do have that one
nope, that's the leaked pilot. But around the end of 2023 someone leaked 7 fully finished episode on MEGA. All we have now are screenshots
Seven episodes?! Frick. Somebody must have hated working on this show, no other recent cartoon show has gotten leaked to this extend. They probably expected people to find something upsetting in them before Disney pulled the plug.
Yep, I'm going through the archives and it's clear somebody had an axe to grind
Link's broken btw
Nah, I was there during the time. Only episode 1 (Summer of Tater/Summer of Primos) was leaked in its dubbing format with the time code and watermark.
i wonder if somebody has the seven eps
Probably only people with access to Disney. Only 1 was ever leaked other than the storyboard pilot and animation test.
anybody have the link for that MEGA folder
Nobody will be getting the Cookita cut.
This is insane. It will be interesting to compare both cuts one day. For now, DROP THE FILE AND NOBODY GETS HURT
OHH YEAH! PEAKMOS PREMIERES JUNE 6TH!
primokino hype
Man, that makes me almost want to have sex with a latina. Almost.
Is there more?
Yeah
Aged up Tater is one of the few positive things to come out of this show.
Coomery is true latino culture
100% Agree
Now I wonder... is real-lite Tater even this thicc (given her, alleged, latino heritage?
lmao
Bootleg Anne, I bet all the off model stuff will be Anne.
¡Oye! ¡Primos!
¡OYE! ¡PRIMOS!
Fullmetal Alchemist
nice!
a la prima
$100 says this will still be popular amongst 5 year old latinx
>Hey, I doubt it!
At that age range? Nah, Dora still clears
Tater's going to get cancer from all that fiberglass insulation
>Listens to fricking Mariachi music in the first 10 seconds
Okay, Uncle Ted
*Tio Theo
FTFY
This whole family is racist.
I like that the smart one is light skinned.
What goes on here?
The Mom's Primos have normal appealing designs, even their unibrown girl doesn't look bad at all and is actually pretty cute compared to chacha. They went too far with the main cast.
AI Tater
Needs to be browner, I don't tjink even AI can replicate Primos's shitty look
slop but it’s closer to her skin
500th reply, I love Primos and can’t wait for it to finally come out
Same bro. Let's hope for the best
nobody believes you contrarian
Whatever you say coño
Tiny Tater
What do you think happened that she got called Tater?
Tried to milk a potato.
Maybe Bud was eating tater tots when he rushed to the hospital and Bibi and him decided to name her Tater. Which is why he calls her Tater Tot
