Fury Road was supposed to be old Max (Gibson) marrying Furiousa and ascending on the platform together. But a decade of delays and other issues turned FR into side-story that doesn't follow the original timeline
Mad Max 1 was just before or during the collapse, RW maybe 10 years after.
