It feels like some home-made YT series with how cheap everything looks despite the CGI which sticks out like a sore thumb.
The casting is straight out of the Disney Wars playbook and immediately turns off the viewer with horrid memories of a Mary sue protagonist and her diversity hire companion.
The few good things about the show like the great actor Walton Goggins are completely overshadowed by bad writing and direction which leaves viewers wondering when laughably bad scenes will end with 50s doo wop songs played over them in some contrived attempt to make them feel like a Fallout game.

FO4 felt like it was simultaneously a theme-parkification of fallout lore while also being a soft rehash of FO3's "I need to find my pa" main story. Except they felt the need to further restrict the player's own agency and RP with a forced voiced protagonist whose only characteristic he is known for after all this time is the 'Nate the Rake' meme. After this round, they then begin brainstorming the rest of the show, and the most popular (often the one with the most intersectional oppression points) people usually command the final decisions of the groupthink process.
Oh and the writing team for Fallout is friends/relatives with the writing teams in other companies. You really have no idea how bad it is, anon. There is no redeeming the university system or the media industries. The only solution at this point is outright violence in Simpsons Hit N' Run.

For good or ill, I believe that the way of modern media will be to keep the old products selling (FO4,FO76) by inducting new fans into the audience when old fans find their interest waning after where Bethesda has taken the series. A new fan whose first entry point to the series is FO4 will have vastly different standards for the series as a whole. Basically rather than having oldgay standards they will have newbie standards curated by what is put out by Bethesda. Combined with the lack of overall exposure to any better writing given the current state of media and you have a potential 'new fandom' with rock bottom standards who will love whatever you put out so long as you don't completely frick up new entries to the series.
This is no comment on the quality of the show in and of itself, but I do believe that the new fans being brought in will have a very different perspective on the fallout compared to older fans, which is exactly what Bethesda wants. They probably would like to wrest the series away from its roots entirely and the destruction of the NCR likely plays a role in moving Fallout away from its past.
The over the top saturation of this show on every possibly relevant board was so damn ludicrous. Even saw a thread posted on /vrpg/ but the OP got told to frick off. Damn near couldn't be avoided on this board though, the threads and the shilling were almost non-stop after release. I might have even been interested in watching it if not for it being pushed so much and scenes like in the webm.

This show is actually very good. The environment is exactly like 3 and 4 and it captures the game essence beautifully which is the entire point. I was blown away by how much it felt like I was in the game playing fallout by the set up alone.

I am still not sure if Hank MacLean is a bad guy or not. It's ambiguous whether his primary motivation for Shady Sands was love or greed. They seem like equally valid reasons especially considering the existential threat the pip boy being outside represented to the vaults. It's morally just to kill any number of people to protect the few precious to you and pretty much anybody would press that button if given the choice, but whether it was that or his Vault-Tec interests in the front of his mind when he did it will be what condemns him as evil or not for me. I don't think Lucy is going to forgive him though, she will probably end up killing him and if the writers handle it really badly he might even try to kill her in self-defense.
