I watched Let There Be Carnage recently and I was really disappointed. I think the series might not 'be for me'.
I felt that the Symbiote talked too much and there was never really a time for the movie to just settle and let the audience process what has happening. Very frantic pacing.
This could have been cool if there were more action scenes and fights but outside of the big finale there wasn't really anything interesting, just the scene with Carnage slaughtering everyone in the prison.
Anyway, I thought Raimi's Venom was 'fine' but not great.
tbh we were supposed to get a comic accurate Venom but Raimi said he looked too hokey because Raimi fricking hated Venom and didn't want him but execs kept pushing him
Raimi sabotaged Venom and Brock in as many ways as he could. Sent the symbiote in on a rock that landed near Peter and MJ and nobody noticed. Brock is miscast and a joke of a character the entire movie. Then killed off and likely not expected to come back.
Jesus Christ why did Raimi hate Venom so much? I know he was forced into the movie, but you would think that he would've treated the character with more respect.
I like Raimi and respect him but he screwed up. We could've gotten another trilogy but the movie was such a mess and everyone went their separate ways.
>created around 2010
Mania was from around 2013, and she's a precious cinnamon bun whose only flaws are those that stem from the generally messy post-Remender/Bunn years of Venom
Man, i get why raimi doesnt like venom, makes sense cause he didnt grow up with him, but i dont know why he didn't think this looked cool. I know he said the jet black suit on peter looked a little too gimpy/bondagey but im surprised he thinks that's a bad thing. The Evil Dead movies are decently horny and the symbiote conceptually is kinda sexual anyways, it's a living being that physically bonds with your body--no reason that being slightly sexual fricks with that concept.

Speaking of Venom, had anybody read the script for the 1997 solo movie? I thought it was pretty good.

I can honestly see Jeffery Combs as a good Cletus/Carnage if this movie ever got made back in 1997. Maybe even Brad Dourif or Robert Englund if he was in his prime.
The idea of eddie being a bizzaro peter the way Topher Grace is to Tobey Maguire isnt the worst direction to take the character but overall it's executed pretty hastily and in a mid way.
I'm fine with Raimi not liking Venom because it's not a character he grew up with. I disagree, but I can see where he's coming from.
I just think he's a homosexual hypocrite for jumping at the chance to make a movie based on Bendislop and America Chavez instead of a proper Doctor Strange movie. 2022 lowered my opinion on him a lot.
He didn't write the script and only directed half of the movie.
The rest is pre-done by the time it gets to his hands.
That's why it flip flops so much between felling like his movie(directing wise) and feeling like a standard mcu movie.
The contrarianism is going to far.
Pull back.
You're probably just tired in general. Try some cardio.
You're just sexually tired in general. Try bottoming for me.
>and I’m tired of pretending it’s not
Can every single zoomer kill themselves? I’m so sick of your memespeak
>zoomer
Can every single amerifat kill themselves? I'm so sick of your butchering of the english language
you mean the language you stole from the dutch danish germans and french anon?
That's a line from Joker moron
>it's from a movie so it's not memespeak
get with the times grandpa
most people here don't have and never will have grandchildren, what the frick are you talking about?

Spider-Man is Sam Raimi's worst film
Raimi's Spider-Man is great you fricking homosexual.
spider-man 1 isn't even raimi's worst spider-man film
It's really not. As a kid I liked Spider-Man 3 but even I thought Venom was kinda lame in there.
>pretending
you were the cancer from the beginning

He was spiteful, he wanted Vulture instead. He was a classic Lee-Ditko/Romina purist

The cherry on top? They constructed a fully functional animatronic they used in a trailer but Raimi scrapped it.

Venom was still a relatively recent character at the time, barely 15 years old.
And how does Cinemaphile treat characters that were created around 2010 nowadays?
There's your answer.

Do you think Sam Raimi browses Cinemaphile?
Venom was pushed for a reason. He was the hottest shit in the 90s.
Everything I heard about the production of this movie makes me mad.

Ew that's gross. Love it. Looks like what an alien molded over a person should look like
It think Raimi should've just went with Carnage instead. It would've pleased Sony and the movie would've been a lot better as a result.

VGH…… what could have been

better than Tom Hardy's
Probably better than Insomniac's too
Ass not fat and gay enough.
Agreed
Based Raimi, every symbiote villain is a massive homosexual

His comic was aight, movie was painfully mediocre for Venom.
