This was actually really cute and charming.
My only issue was the villain felt unnecessary.

There’s a villain?
Unfortunately yes, that french chef.
Meh, I can live with that.
I thought he worked as a villain since all he was was a chef. There was nothing personal, the slaughter and cooking of duck was just his occupation. Admittedly one he was very passionate about.
I liked his design and the fact he doesn't speak.
What ruined it was the third act when he's hunting the ducks down in his helicopter like some vindictive psychopath. It was unnecessary.
I figured that was coming since they walked past a big flying chekovs gun when they go into his restaurant.
also he had accepted the farm ducks and paid cash, so it was either find his wagyu ducks or eat the significant costs. it passes the cartoon villain motivation test imo.
also my kid loves ducks so ill probably see it a second or third time.
Would you say it's better than the average illumination movie or nah?
It's better than the first despicable me
So it's the best Illumination movie ever then. Not a big accomplishment, but still something.
It's kino??
Slightly above average. There's no low hanging fruit humor (farts, jukebox musicals, characters yelling all their lines) but it's not all that funny. It felt like a lesser version of Finding Nemo.
I'll add that the film was beautiful and had cool 2D-3D bits that looked like Klaus.
>and had cool 2D-3D bits that looked like Klau
Niceee, I was expecting Migration to be the most visually inventive in Illumination's library. That's kind of its main draw for me
It's alright
Is it funny?
Flopped lmao
*Flapped
god she’s hot
Illumination is allowed to take risks and make something original for once since they’ve been playing it safe with the sequels for a decade.
