I watched GT for the first time this year. Man it starts off so well, but as soon as they go back to Earth it is all downhill. The end for Gokus character was great though.
A yearlong space voyage was a great idea, but more teams of characters should have gone and some should have stayed on earth to plan for an evacuation.

I would not be surprised if most of the budget went into that 8 minute fight sequence. The plot, animation and voice acting is a lot worse than Broly other than that fight scene.

And don’t forget, all of this is pre-EoZ, so all this shit is still guaranteed to be powercrept by Uub ANYWAY.

Toriyama can't even give proper wins to Piccolo, Vegeta or Trunks and they expect the literal who Pajeet to be treated differently?

as a movie itself? yeah it's just serviceable. But really this movie is just fast way to make Gohan and Picolo relevant again because tbh I'm tired of just seeing Goku and Vegeta being on the frontline. So if they keep wasting them on the sidelines again after this I'll definitely hate on this movie.

Don't worry, they'll just job again to the next main villain and Goku will unlock a new form to save the day.
This doesn't really matter because Toriyama doesn't know how to handle several villains or group of villains.
Take Nappa and Vegeta for instance, they fodderize the Z warriors, we get a lil beat of team effort between Krilin and Piccolo, but they still lose, then Goku arrives, foderizes Nappa and then beats Vegeta.
Then the Ginyu force, they rape Krilin, Gohan and Vegeta only to be defeated all by Goku a few chapters later, 5 villains of which only one was relevant and he only fought Goku, then comes Frieza and we know nothing will happen until Goku fights him.
Then the androids arrive and you think you'll finally see everyone shine... sike, only Piccolo and Vegeta can fight and they don't get real wins because Cell appears and fodderizes the androids, and repeat to infinity.
Even the Moro arc had the Z warriors positioned to get wins that they never got because Goku took care of everything.
Shit all you want on Zoomer Anime but at least they know how to give everyone something to do other than stall one of the main villains.
Dragon Ball will never change, no one will have their own nemesis, no one will grow alongside of a rival, no one will get wins against a main villain, aside from Goku and maybe, maybe Gohan/Bejita.
Still better than GT.

I liked it 🙂 good CG, good fights, good jokes, it wasn't the best DB movie but it's easily top 10
