Casting a mullato doesn't make a film woke if the person is actually a good actor and a fun interesting character. Especially when the source material requires no specific race.
It only works if the actor is horrible and unfit to play a character and clearly an affirmative action hire to meet some kind of diversity quota.
No character in this film fits that definition. They were all fun, humorous, charming, and interesting characters. Anyone who thinks otherwise probably didn't even watch the movie.
also to continue. I believe the worst casting was probably Sophia Lillis as the tiefling druid. Her character felt really one dimensional and her acting felt pretty stiff and wooden, she didn't come off as relateable or charming as the others did. She still did okay though. Just nothing extraordinary.
They didn't portray her as a tiefling well enough, so her standoffishness seemed undeserved. Her entire character just feels like "orphan with horns and a tail" instead of damn near everyone being wary of her because of literal devil heritage.
>and her acting felt pretty stiff and wooden
Probably because she doesnt trust humans and felt out of place in the team until the end.

I thought she was meta and coming across as the stereotype emo autistic shy girl who is in every DnD club from the 2000s-2010s, the same kind of girls who always play otherkin demon/witch druid variants.
Is that the movie where I have to stare at weird, ugly mixed race at people all day in a desperate attempt to convince me that I can be immersed in a fantasy world where everyone looks identical to a modern ideal of metropolitan populations?
Maybe the movie would have performed better if it was full of attractive European looking people...you know, like a fantasy movie? From the fantasy genre? The genre heavily based in European aesthetics? That fantasy genre?
this would've been the best movie if they would've showed sophia lillis' small cute butt in those tight leather pants.. oh god I wanted so bad to see that and they didn't do that.. why put her in tight leather pants then not show her perfect small butte? who the frick does this to people?
It was really good. I watched it a month ago, thinking it would be shit, but it was actually really good. Bravo Hollywood, I didn't know you could still make movies like this anymore.
it was mid, and pretty woke. Mixed race kid, Woman as a berserker. Men as effeminate homosexuals.
and so it was an accurate D&D movie
not at all u snarky democrat pos
D&D was sick in 80s n late 70s
eh it was better but still an americanized version of mythial medieval europe
it's always been garbage
I don't think anyone would argue the film wasn't mid. the argument is all the other films in 2023, save for godzilla, were shit
>mixed race kid
>woke
what is the point you're failing to make here?
>nothing you say will convince me otherwise
wow; great thread.
thanks
I enjoyed it.
also the cartoon from the 80s had a cute woman of color in it.
No, Sarah Gadon had the best films of 2023
Pure unfiltered fantasykino.
No one cares, it's clearly just one guy making all these d&d threads nobody cares just go watch you're favorite fricking movie.
who cares, it bombed.
Was it a wokebomb homosexual bomb why did it bomb-type bomb?
Only paramount execs should care about this. And maybe morons.
>this movie didn't make any money, so you can't like it!
The actual mindset of Cinemaphile
Your shill threads are just easy to identify so I like reminding you that you've failed.
This was a great movie to have on in the background while I pet my cat and move some files around on my computer

Maybe but she didn't have a lot of depth. She felt more like a plot device than anything.
They didn't portray her as a tiefling well enough, so her standoffishness seemed undeserved. Her entire character just feels like "orphan with horns and a tail" instead of damn near everyone being wary of her because of literal devil heritage.

>Wanting European aesthetic in an American movie inspired by an American game
Lmao
Where do you think America come from moron? I'll help you, from Europe.
Where do you think Europe come from moron? I'll help you, from Africa.
Maybe 200 years ago. Many years have passed and modern Amerigoblins have nothing to do with Europe anymore.
Has it started yet?
The schizo is probably some australian shitposter and hasn't woken up yet. Most shitposters here are australian.
I thought it was determined that the schizo is a Brazilian furry who possibly collects disability. The first two parts are true though.
I don't know I assume all shitposters are Australian. As soon as they wake up the board goes to shit.
I laughed at a couple of the graveyard scenes but the rest of it was rather shitty and it definitely deserved to flop.
Aye, the deafening silence in regards to this absolute kino from so called movie buffs speaks volumes.
