Very low IQ post. He is probably Britain's finest living film maker and his obscurity is a crime perpetrated by the midwits at the BBC.

What do you find visually appealing about Mann?

Manhunter felt like an 80’s synthwave fever dream and I fricking loved every second of it. The colors, the insanely weird buildings and sets (the mental hopsital being this weird white sterile building with zig zagging stairs) and the music are everything I love.

Will's panic attack when leaving the mental hospital was the most realistic panic attack I've seen depicted on screen. Manhunters Hannibal is also better than Hopkins and the best parts of Hopkins' portrayal were clearly inspired by it.

yeah everyone goes on about Blade Runner
but have have a look at his other films like State of Grace and Cutter's Way
also he was the initial cinematographer on Buckaroo Banzai but was replaced by the shyster producer, he did at least shoot the Arties Artery scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MF_Ed1pt_WA

Music was a bit much in this one. Usually it works, but for this one it was to its detriment.

Point Blank (1967), it's a kaleidoscopic revenge thriller set in a modernist dreamlike LA and is yet another film that would fly right over our little chuddies head.

It's great, isn't it. I must watch Manhunter every 2 months. Good soundtrack too.

Another visually striking film -- though not necessarily appealing -- is THE DEVILS (1971).
