      >see LSD plate of a cartoon character
      >OMG ITS A BOMB
      why are normies like this?

It's pretty obvious it's not anything now, but at the time 9/11 had JUST happened (which was previously unthinkable...a foreign attack on US soil was not something that happened) and anthrax had been found in the mail. Security measures were just being put into place where there weren't any before. People were on high alert and there were constant reports from various news sources that people needed to stay vigilant because another attack could happen. The DIY electronic art scene was pretty new so people weren't used to seeing stuff like this, and guerilla street advertising wasn't nearly as prevalent as it is today.

It's pretty laughable that it caused a panic in hindsight, but someone putting a cooking pot down for a second doesn't seem like a big deal until it's exploding (as was the case at the Boston Marathon).

In the end, I'm glad they took it seriously. If I have to take off my fricking shoes and belt at the airport, the least authorities can do is investigate the weird electronic contraptions that suddenly appeared mounted to the support beams of train lines out of nowhere.

Sure, but then they completely blew it with the marathon bombing so … who cares? Just kind of proves they’re a bunch of morons. They’ll flip their shit over a light brite and then ignore an actual bomb.

Bruh they literally put these LiteBrites up in NYC, the very city 9/11 happened in. Boston was the ONLY one to freak out.

I know. I lived in NYC at the time. We're a bigger city more used to guerilla ad campaigns and at the time, the hacker/maker/guerilla activism scene was alive and well. People were also making these sticky LED lights that you could toss high onto the side of a building as a sort of alternative method of 'tagging'. (Those were later abandoned as unethical because people realized it was bad for the environment).

When you really think about it, Bush's war of terror, which created the culture of fear, and his economic policies crashing the economy, along with ATHF are what caused Cartoon Network to fall into ruins.
Also Mike Lazzo being a greedy butthole and throwing everyone else under the bus.

That's not even the real issue. The marketing company CN hired intentionally kept Boston PD in the dark for seven hours once they knew they were overreacting. Presumably because they wanted there to be a media scene.

It's basically trying to be the contrarian's contrarian. If they can't feel smarter than everyone else by engaging in the same opinion or perspective as most other anons, they will try to adopt a position that allows them to act like they are the ones who truly understand the subject, unlike the other anons who generally hold the same largely accepted opinion on the subject.

People thought it was a bomb scare in Boston due to some gang related stuff around the time. This was before the Boston Bombings.

These light boxes were made and sent to multiple citys to promote the ATHF movie and the Boston PD thought they were bombs and flipped out. The guy running CN at the time stepped down because of it and CN never recovered from the choices of his replacements. Boston had a bombing a few years later so zoomers now blame ATHF for CNs downgrade instead of incompetent police.
