NO! NEVER! CEASE YOUR WEAKNESS! i LOVE filler episodes. it's like i am making friends across lands i'll never get to go to.
helping all those people, and fighting even more, I LIKE IT!
THAT IS TRUE POWER OF SHOUNEN-TISM!!
I'm 99% sure that Laugh Tale is actually an old amusement park and the original Joy Boy was just the mascot who looked like kid buggy who wore a straw hat. The hat Luffy has is just one that was sold at the gift shop. Imu keeps his frozen to keep it in good condition.
If you started reading/watching it as a kid, you'll like it, that's it. If you're an adult then it's mediocre at its best with some good moments and pure trash at its worst(Post time-skip)
I'm not coping, I agree with you that it's not very good but there ARE great moments like Hiriluk's last moments and the sense of adventure during Skypeia. Don't judge a book by its cover, there are diamonds in the rough.
I've grown up watching the OG run of Berserk, you dumb Black person. Dubbed in my country, English AND subbed late at night.
The fact you're crying over a shonen adaptation being flashy in its fights just tells me you don't get b***hes in real life. have a nice day.
It's a grand adventure story that is actually one giant adventure. Like the beginning is "There's a treasure called One Piece at the end of the stretch of ocean called the Grand Line" and you can follow the progress of the strawman pirates on a map as they approach the end of the Grand Line. There's a lot of great continuity moments that make it feel like one story, as opposed to other major long running shounen that feel like an anthology.
Yes but only because of all the anime only freakouts when they don't get the Super Saiyan showdown they're expecting and get hit with an episode of Tom & Jerry instead
>nothing happens for 900+ episodes over 20 years >only the most moronic of weebs like this shit
I actually like anime and I think One Piece of Shit is awful.
I used to enjoy One Piece but I'm unable to read the Wano arc. At least the beginning it feels like every single other arc but with le wholesome Japanese. Le cute girl who makes onigiris with her cheeks crying all the time and all the characters running eveywhere.
My problem is for the past few arcs all the official stuff has felt like filler. I don't know how to explain it exactly, for me the shift as somewhere around Zou. Before that characters felt like real characters and places felt like real places. Actually, it probably started with Doflamingo's arc. That was the first time it really felt like they were just cramming in a couple hundred half-baked character ideas, many of which had terrible designs and that was it for story. I just get this feeling like it's fan fiction. Like we land on the island and everyone's just running around on a sugar rush going "PANT, PANT, I AM RIGUSAKE, OWNER OF THE DIRHA-DIRHA FRUIT, I AM THE DIARRHEA MAN!" "YOU COME BACK HERE WITH MY ASTEROID-FRUIT PIE RIGUSAKE YOU WRIGGLY POOPY-BUTT MAN!"
Like it feels like they just brought in the Rick & Morty guy and had him make his stupid "half-baked characters with stupid names" joke unil they had a thousand new characters.
I only feel that way about Wano and Dressrosa. And Wano at least the chapters that actually focus on the Strawhats were good it's the scabbards holding the arc back. Whole Cake Island and Egghead so far have been great.
The fights are entertaining and the characters are still great, but the writing took an insane nosedive to be honest. Part of the problem is no matter what changes are made every arc plays out exactly the same.
-Luffy lands on a new island.
-The crew is briefly separated.
-A bad guy is doing horrible, hateable things to the people on the island.
-Luffy makes a friend on the island. They give him food or something. He decides because he likes this person and they are his nakama he will beat the bad guy.
-Luffy beats the bad guy.
-They have a big celebration feast.
The only variation is now someone threatens to leave the crew every arc, every arc they get like between ten and a hundred new allies who don't join the main crew but are adjacent to it, and we don't get to actually see like 70% of the fights anymore. Every time someone has a fight we see the beginning, then it cuts to someone else having a fight, then it cuts to someone else, etc, and so on. It's such a copout that there are constantly so many fights all over the world now where for no real reason we don't get to find out what actually happened until hundreds of chapters later. Just of the top of my head, we don't know exactly what state Boa Hanwiener is in right now, we don't know exactly what state Weevil is in, we don't know whether or not the shadow fruit guy is alive or dead. And when we do get an update it's like one panel of a shadowed character. Like Bon Clay, okay so he's alive and the current "queen" of gayland in the prison, but we only saw his shadow. What does that mean? Is he all hideously scarred from the fight he had?
The big problem for me is how every fricking fight now needs to do this map bullshit where they pull out and remind the viewer "This army is here. This army is here. These people are over here." The scale has become too massive for me to give a shit anymore. Like this page from Wano, 5000 vs 27000.

I tried to watch One Piece once, I made it to episode 70 I think. The one in the island with 2 giants fighting and a guy with candle powers. Stopped there, too boring.
There are some nice things about that I liked, like the pirate theme, Zorro, Sanji and the character designs. But everything else is awful, specially Luffy. He is the personification of every bad trope of the shonen protagonist, dumb guy who likes to eat, loves his friends and is super strong for no other reason than he is the mains character. >BU-BUT IT GETS GOOD AFTER EPISODE 235
That sounds like stockholm syndrome + sunk cost fallacy to me.
Look Black person, if you smash your wiener and balls with a hammer for 200 hours, after a while the pain goes away and you might even feel little tickles, but thats not a good thing.
>One Piece "gets good" at Arlong Park. If you don't think that Luffy walking up to Arlong is a good moment then One Piece is not for you.
I agree. If you've been through Arlong Park and the story hasn't caught you yet, it's totally justifiable to drop it.
I started reading the manga by chance and bought it up to Volume 30 (halfway through Skypiea), then read it online as far as it was releasing, at volume 58/59 towards the end of Marineford. I've been watching weekly for thirteen years
Honestly, I can't imagine anyone starting from scratch these days. There are 1088 chapters in 106 volumes for the manga and 1070 episodes for the anime, not counting the extra material.
Of all the media I consume these days, it's my favorite story. But I know that despite her success, it's not something for everyone. And if I hadn't started reading at the point where the story was, most likely I wouldn't have had the energy and desire to start from scratch
I get that's not for me then. Although I though the Usop fakeout was kinda neat.
>Look Black person, if you smash your wiener and balls with a hammer for 200 hours, after a while the pain goes away and you might even feel little tickles, but thats not a good thing.
What the frick? Those people stuck with it because they enjoyed it. I don't like the show but to its credit you knew exactly what you were getting with the first handful of eps. Imagine sticking with it for 70 eps otherwise..
I watch it my friend in college, he kept saying "it's gonna get good bro, trust me, just 2 more weeks", so I went along until episode 70 when I lost my patience.

I guess, you wanted to "the worst ass-pull in any form of media". Even the introduction of haki wasn't as shitty as this contrived piece of nonsense

no they weren't. the first real foreshadowing was

nothing good post timeskip till Wano
I read it because sunk cost but the second part is not even half as fun as the first part, so I would say no.

I'll use this reminder to remind everyone that Gear 5/Nika was conceived as soon as Fishman Island and if you're generous with Oda, Skypie
Nooo I will never forgive Oda for robbing me of this moment
One Piece anime has become cringe. One piece manga is kino.
I lost all interest when they started spamming 100000s of particle effects and making every attack seem like a dbz wankfest.
I love DBZ but don't mix that shit with One Piece.
Has anyone heard rumors of the animation going back to Dressrosa shit level after Wano?
No because you've just made them up, Black person.
It all looks the same to me post punk hazard. The animation is the least of its problems.
Wano is cancer for making batman vs luffy- totally illogical filler.
It didn't seem particularly shit to me.
and yet morons on Cinemaphile yell "KINO KINO KINO" and spam the same 3 webgen cringe webm because it titillates their ADHD. sakuga worship has ruined anime
It's not kino at all man, I am sure every anime is like this now- I am tired of it, the last 'modern' anime show I watched was 7 deadly sins.
Been watching some 80s and 90s anime flicks they've been pretty comfy.
