Marvel Studios' longtime stunt double and second unit director Sam Hargrave is rumored to be the top choice to direct the film. He recently directed Chris Hemsworth in Netflix's "Extraction" films.

Please be Thor going on a journey to Hel to reclaim the Warriors Three only to find Sif already there on the same quest.

        >Thor and Love are helping Beta Ray Bill with the Korbinites, somehow Thor gets blasted back to earth
        >he finds the warrior's three reborn as humans, also meets Hercules and they all have a big fight
        >from there he tries to find the reborn Odin, Frigga and Loki so they can be a family again. human Loki is trans.
        >the big bad is Mangog and he's hunting Thor to end Odin's lineage.
        >in the end Thor lets go of his godhood and becomes human to defeat Mangog and live with his family and adopts the name Edward Blake ala Rey in ROSW
        >Bill and Love stay in the Skuttlebutt as the new Thor and Torrun
        >the Warrior's Three return to New Asgard while Hercules decides to stay on earth and maybe join the Avengers.
there, I finished the Thor storyline while cramming every Thor reference left.

I still wonder how they're going to go about it. The original Thor and Hercules clashed because Thor was a no-nonsense uptight warrior and Hercules was a carefree extraverted dudebro. But Thor is already a dudebro in the MCU, so I predict Hercules is going to somehow be edgy and bitter.

I hate the idea of changing his character like that, but if he basically played the same character he did in Ted Lasso, it would work really well counter to Thor.

Meh. Again I say pit Thor against Athena. She's smart enough to know Zeus is a pathetic idiot, but curious enough to test Thor's character. And yes, to show why mortals once feared the gods. Much as she dislikes Zeus, she does view Thor's overconfidence as a personal slight. She's easily one of the most powerful gods out there, to the point she's ironically sympathetic to many of Thor's issues with them. Where she disagrees with him is that ALL gods are useless, which she views as a blanket generalization. Intellectually lazy.

Waititi joining Whedon in the "everyone seemed to love it the first time, why didn't they love it even more the second time?" club.

All the flaws of Thor 4 were already there in Thor 3, but the combination of Thor 3's success and the implosion of MCU quality control during the pandemic seemed to convince Waititi that he should double down on everything, when he needed to pull back.

What happened with Taika is the same that happened to Whedon: He found great success working under a tighter leash, was afforded near-total creative control for the sequel, and couldn't balance it without active oversight.

I know the first 2 movies were kinda of dull but Ragnarok and especially Love and Thunder were massive overcorrections. Absolutely no sense of grandeur or drama, everything has to be under cut with a shitty joke. If they make a new one, I can only hope that they have a dramatic film with a light peppering of comedy to add some levity. Not that I should expect anything from Disney.

On a somewhat related note, I absolutely hate what they did to the Warriors Three and Sif. Volstagg and Fandral get unceremoniously offed minutes after Hela shows up and only Hogun, the only nonwhite guy, unsurprisingly, gets a hopeless last stand. If you really have to kill them, at least let them all die together. And Jesus what they did to Sif, have her show up in LaT just to die.

Also, Hela sucks. I don't care how much you wanna jerk it to her, she sucks the shit off a car bumper.

I know Doctor Strange 2 whining is a bootable offense by now, but reading that (accurate) description of Thor 3 it really strikes me that Strange's sequel has a lot of the same beats, including the disposability of the hero's own lore and supporting cast and the similar girlboss lady villains.

It feels like Thor 3's success convinced Feige you could pep up a franchise with sequels that were as different as possible from the originals, which is also how we got Ant-Man 3.

Now you guys point it out, Ragnarok, Dr Strange 2, and Quantumania all share a lot of the same fundamental problems:
      >overstuffed plot trying to do several different things at once
      >blatant disinterest/disregard for the titular character, their backstory, or other elements from the comics
      >more interested in setting up future Phase shenanigans than in being a solid sequel
      >titular character's arc is half-arsed and likely tacked on in reshoots (DS2, Quantumania)

they should just kill the MCU at this point, even normies aren't bothering with anything past end game save for guardians 3.

      Anonymous

Normies also liked Spider-Man 3 (which isn't great but I give them credit for putting together a movie people didn't actually dislike) and WandaVision before the finale, a few others... basically anything that gives them a familiar MCU character in a way that doesn't completely screw them up. Even that is probably beyond the MCU at this point though.

        Anonymous

let's be real people only liked spider-man 3 because of nostalgia bait and shit getting leaked, though I'll give credit where credit is due and say it was good, I basically consider it the "epilogue" of the MCU.

but anything after that isn't worth anyone's time save for guardians 3 because they didn't butcher the characters.

          Anonymous

That seemed to convince them what would save a weak movie was cameos, hence both Strange 2 and The Marvels getting reshot to add "fan favorite" cameos which are then leaked in advance.

Nobody cares. They cared about Spider-Man 3 cameos because they were Spider-Man characters.

yep, that's why they shoved captain carter and co into that movie as shameless cameo's and slipped in the X men cartoon theme in there, nothing but shameless pandering because people are loosing interest due to the bad writing so they have to rely on cheap youtuber bait red circle thumbnail shit just to sell tickets because they have ZERO faith that the movie can stand on it's own like how early MCU could.

also I think it's hilarious captain falcon unironically defended terrorism but one guy kills someone who stops them is apparently the bad guy, quality writing there marvel! This is probably a consequence of their abandoned pandemic plotline, but Walker unironically has an epic redemption arc. Sure, he killed a terrorist in the heat of battle for revenge. I can see why Sam and Bucky would want better from the bearer of the shield. But Walker forges his own shield and rejoins the fight, his actions ultimately proving him a hero. It's almost but not quite a refutation of Sam and Bucky's assessment of him, but in the end it doesn't matter. He is who he is, and even if that's not Captain America, he's still a hero.

Most of the good mcu flicks past endgame are the films closing out specific characters arcs. NWH & GOTG3 are practically epilogues for Spidey & the Guardians. With those out of the way nobody has a single reason left to care

pretty much, their running on fumes I mean just look at secret wars, the whole thing was just an expensive shit show nobody liked or asked for that ruined nick fury "b'aww is a grumpy tired old grandpa :(( but hey look at this NEW GIRLLLLL BOSS we have! just ignore those terrible CGI effects and AI those are a FEATURE! we spent over 50 million dollars on a show nobody cared about!" they literally had all the tools for an amazing spy thriller where there was nobody he could trust and do interesting things but instead we get "poor old man" and "we should let immigrants who are literally terrorists in without question or over sight"

when even the marvel stans and normies aren't tuning in, who is even left to watch? even the Neo-puritian progressives they pander to don't even want to watch it? it's embarrassing quite frankly maybe they should beg the ruso brothers and downey Jr to come back and fix this mess but clearly that ship has sailed all they have left is scab actors desperate for work.

              Anonymous

As someone who hasn’t watched a single MCU anything since endgame I can’t tell you simply why and how they can fix it.

Captain America is Steve Rogers. Recast, make him white and straight and maybe I’ll watch a cap movie. Everything about Thor is ruined. I will never watch another Thor project because it’s all cuckoldry, yasss queens and gay Loki. Black panther needs to be recast. Spider-Man needs redhead WHITE MARY JANE.

But the real way to win me back is no stunt casting with FF for X-Men. No Alternative takes no colorblind casting, no gay shit. For either property. Bobby drake is straight, Johnny storm is white and straight, like his sister who should be a SMOKE SHOW and married to straight white Reed. And when I say white for all three I don’t mean israelites. I mean white. A israelite can be Ben and not a pot smoking homosexual like Seth Rogen.

The x-men should hold back on wolverine but should announce his very early on. Do not introduce Laura as an adult and never call her wolverine. Do not make Jean Gray a main character, nobody likes her. Ignore Emma frost for at least two or three movies. Don’t mention the Phoenix for just as long. I expect the analogy but making this a gay flag waving, le ebil whites movie would be a mistake. Make it so devoid of any of it that an 8 year old cares about the movie. That was the problem with Norton hulk. Decent movie but hulk is for 8 year olds, way too much emotion and plot.

These are action figures being smashed together, quick trying to make them soap operas and societal statements and FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STOP MAKING WHITE MALE CHARACTERS THE BUTT OF EVERY JOKE.

If FF and X-Men are done well, by my definitions, then I will watch another decade of these movies.

                I can tell you*

                And to tl;dr:
Victoria Alonso should hate the coming slate and feel it’s a repudiation of everything she wanted while there

This has got to be a false flag. You sound like a homosexual

on a scale of 1 to 10 how bad is loki season 2 and the marvels going to bomb?

Normies love Loki Season 2 because le quirky adventure and a sudden shocking swerve in the latest ep, and they can feel smart because of time wimey shit. The Marvels, however, is going to bury itself harder than that one mars probe that was calculated in feet and programmed in meters.

Didn't Chris give up acting to spend the rest of his days with his family and having fun before his Alzheimer's fricks him up like it did Bruce Willis?

He just made a big deal about learning that he's genetically predisposed to it. He doesn't have any kind of diagnosis or symptoms right now.

great another flaming piece of shit
there hasnt been a single decent thor movie, not fricking one, the only one i'd consider "good" is ragnarok and not cause its respectable in any way, but because it made me have a few cheap laughs and thats it, its good if you just want cheap laughs but everything else about it is pretty much dogshit because marvel slop refuses to take itself seriously, and when you dont take yourself seriously you dont put in the effort to make a competent story because
    >lol its for shits and giggles anwyays who cares looooolk rick and morty redditt lmaoo
well congrats to ragnarok for being a piece of shit, and the other movies at least tried but they were all shit as well, like the writers didnt know what the frick they were working with or towards what end, the whole thing is bad, whole thor saga is shit and shethor was cringe while it lasted
    >i like being king
    you're a woman you c**t
    cringe woke garbage

Ragnarok had problems, and Love & Thunder had the same problems, proving the series was dead and would not improve, yes.

it's been obvious from the get-go they never had any clue what to do with Thor.
    >First two films tries to play straight Fantasy drama
    >First attempt suceeded, second attempt failed
    >Decided to make a full shift to stylized comedy very blatantly aping off GotG but with a more improvizational feel
    >First attempt suceeded, second attempt failed
What do you think they'll do next?

I'm tired of this revisionism. "Thor movies were serious and played straight hurr durr"
The Dark World was specifically called out for the cringy inappropriate comedy destroying the tone.
They didn't do any kind of "full shift", they just doubled down of the worst aspects of those movies.

If we're doing Greek Gods, can Hades FINALLY be depicted as not a villain? He was actually one of the most reasonable.

Honestly I'd throw Mars at Thor. All the war god stuff but more level-headed & measured than Ares.
