>Slowly builds some cred with competent if not good movies >Mario puts one out and mogs home to high hell
Man, will Sonic ever catch a break? For a character whose deal is to go fast, he's always trying to catch up.
There was a live-action Sonic film about 10 years ago too. It had the original voice actor for Sonic and starred famous actors like James Rolfe (The Angry Video Game Nerd).
Sonic's movie journey is way more kino. Starting with the awful first design to the movie somehow being a success and well received right before the pandemic started. Even being more successful than cape shit (birds of prey) and that pixar movie.
Besides the obvious, his voice has gotten kind of raspy so I could see this working. He needs to be able to pull off the radical evil voice though, character doesn't work without it (nobody gives a frick how Sonic or Knuckles sound).
Why do Sonic fans consistently get to eat so good? If a game sucks there will be another one in a little while, if a design sucks just screech about it enough and they'll change it.
Huh. I’ve saw that but I think it was when it was new and I was 10. After looking him up I’m not surprised I didn’t know him as I’ve never watched star wars
>yeah we can teleport anywhere on Earth! >but we're only going to show the top of a pyramid and an alley at the roman colosseum >and all baddies are killed off-screen the same way
Tbf the second movie did have less of the human shit. Hopefully the third movie continues downplaying them, although I don't expect Tom and friends to get completely cut
I've never seen Hayden in anything other than Star Wars. I always thought that he was probably a decent actor, crippled by shitty dialogue and directing from Lucas. My proof was that everyone in Star Wars seems like a shitty actor. So Lucas must be the common denominator making everyone's acting shitty.
We've seen some of those actors do well in other movies; so it must be Lucas's fault. Christopher Lee, Natalie Portman, Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, etc; we've seen act well in non-Star Wars films. But Hayden Christensen, Ahmed Best, and Jake Lloyd weren't known outside of Star Wars; so Lucas's shitty writing/directing soured everyone's opinion of them as actors. Their big-shot at an A-list acting career was actually a career-destroying abortifacient administered by Lucas.
The acting in Lucas' movies is probably less shitty than it is reflective of old sensibilities. The prequels especially are meant to be melodramatic and theatrical, almost as if they were retellings of events that happened from the point of view of someone living at the time of the OT. Lucas himself has said he wanted the films to feel sort of like a legend within the Star Wars universe, so it makes sense that the dialogue and acting is sort of overwrought and weird compared to Hollywood blockbuster slopshit. Call it cope or whatever, I don't care. I don't think the prequels are amazing films or anything, but this idea that Lucas is some sort of moron who doesn't have a vision just because he doesn't adhere to Spielbergian Funko Pop sensibilities bothers me.
The first Star Wars film is weird because it's like the dialogue is written to feel a bit old-fashioned/epic/Shakespearean/whatever but ultimately timeless, but then the acting is all over the place. Two classically-trained English actors, then also a whiny American TV guy, some British "oi. am. reading the. script. ...you WAZZOCK!" types (mostly dubbed over, thank god). What is Carrie Fisher's accent supposed to be?
like i considered Robert Patterson or Jason returning but holy shit getting anakin fricking skywalker as Shadow would guarantee that Sonic 3 makes millions
FROM MY POINT OF VIEW THE BLUE HEDGEHOG IS FAKE!
>Slowly builds some cred with competent if not good movies

Sonic is, and always has been, niche. Mario appeals to everybody. Sonic isn't playing catch-up, they aren't even in the same race.
>Mario
not even live action because they're afraid
Mario had a live action movie years before Sonic's and that is better than Sonic's as well.

I don’t see these two movies as competing with each other. My kids love both and are excited for sequels.
The sonic movies are better than Mario was and it’s not even close.
The Mario movie was safe trash compared to Sonic. It wasn't even canon with how humans look compared to Mario.
Super Mario Bros 2. had other Kingdoms and the human characters had the same cartoon proportions.
3, I mean.
Anon, the Mario vs Sonic console war ended with the discontinuation of the Dreamcast.
Holy kino.

>have you ever heard the tale of Darth Biggius the Cat?
I could see that working, actually
hayden's back
Great choice. Everybody loves the dark brooding character with a mysterious past with some sliver of good in him.
What about Maria? Is she safe?
How will he handle this line?
Sonic Adventure 2 is peak Millennial childhood, and so are the prequels, just go all in with millennial pandering
Well at least he isn't getting fat for a role
Why do Sonic fans consistently get to eat so good? If a game sucks there will be another one in a little while, if a design sucks just screech about it enough and they'll change it.
I don't like Sonic. He's coarse, rough, and irritating, and he gets everywhere.
Someone's gonna be creaming her panties in the theater if that's true.
>YOU UNDERESTIMATE MY POWER SONIC
Checks out
holy frick it's perfect
Shadow the hedgehog... Why does that name haunt me?
Who will voice Amy?
disgusting black creatures
get out of my sight
Obi-Wan vs Anakin
>that powerbomb
Would be a solid pick.
good. I actually wish him well. he gives off bro vibes
Never heard of the actor
Guy from Jumper.
Huh. I’ve saw that but I think it was when it was new and I was 10. After looking him up I’m not surprised I didn’t know him as I’ve never watched star wars
Jumper had such a great premise and teleportation is top-5 power, but goddamn did that movie suck.
Could have been top kino but whoever wrote that movie was suffering from dementia.
>yeah we can teleport anywhere on Earth!
>but we're only going to show the top of a pyramid and an alley at the roman colosseum
>and all baddies are killed off-screen the same way
If doesn't say "damn" at least 9 times, I'm gonna say this is a flop
"Chaos Control!" with the same energy as "I HATE YOU" too
Yes. Fricks yes
Excellent choice.
Wil they every make a Sonic movie about actual Sonic the Hedgehog shit?
Tbf the second movie did have less of the human shit. Hopefully the third movie continues downplaying them, although I don't expect Tom and friends to get completely cut
I hate hollywood, I hate consumers, I hate it all. Why did my sonic movie have to have a black queen comedy bit blasted all over it.
Baased

It doesn't work honestly.
You should watch Life as a House (Hayden got a Golden Globe and SAG Award nomination for that one) and Shattered Glass.
why does this actually sound fricking kino
because hayden is already kino
like i considered Robert Patterson or Jason returning but holy shit getting anakin fricking skywalker as Shadow would guarantee that Sonic 3 makes millions
if this is true Paramount hit it big
GUN seems like an easy way to have lots of human stuff if it's just to save money.
Tom transfers in as a spy, Agent Stone is there for a joke. There's your five minutes of screentime sorted.
They're going the Kino route
100%

jeff fowler was a huge star wars gay so it wouldn't be a huge surprise if this is true

Um, hello? Kino department???
