Give me a break. I saw it literally years ago. Malick is good but the films not fresh for me. It's the same reason why film specific threads die on the vine, which is to say, the chances of finding other users that have recently seen a film which wasn't recently released is low. Do you realise how many classic films are out there? More than one can consume in a lifetime.
>the combat sequences in it are actually kinda fantastic.
I was surprised and I didn't expect Malick to be so deft at handling action. It doesn't feel overdone at any point but the tension is high all the way through. >aside from all the artsy fartsy, every GI is a poet stuff,
I loved this stuff.
I found the whisper narration more tolerable in Tree of Life if that makes you feel better.
I agree that it suits the mood of that film much more than here, but Malick has a poetic style and the whisper narration is part of that.
Never watched anything that can be summed up by the word "pretentious" better than this. >wow isn't it special how this dumb hick is constantly having profound poetic thoughts
Turned it off after it had reached minute 30 or so and nothing had happened.
I found it incredibly boring. Soldiers aren't poetic, it felt dishonest and artsy fartsy in a bad way. And I'm not against artsy flicks, this was just boring though.
beautiful
>marathoning war movies at cousins
>through with SPR
>put this one on
>no one wants to watch it after 5 minutes
very forgettable
swine
what a waste of quads.
I think it's shit. Watch Hamburger hill instead
Great visuals, but I find the whisper narration insufferable.
that's a thin black line. are you watching it on netflix?
What if his name was bear pants ballsack?
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
,>le japs are just misunderstood
>le white general sending men to their deaths
>le dark GIs caring about thwir men
what did Malick mean by this?
>“Darkness and light, strife and love…are they the workings of one mind? The features of the same face?”
>Opening shot of crocodile going under green water
pile of wank
so Cinemaphile is full of uncultured children?
naw each weekend i watch the thin red line and Jeanne Dielman back to back because i'm so cultured while sniffing my farts
finally a man with taste
Jeanne Dielman is in a complete different league than this american slop. You need to be either American or moronic to think Malick is making art.

Goat warkino along with Apocalypse Now
I must say, aside from all the artsy fartsy, every GI is a poet stuff, the combat sequences in it are actually kinda fantastic.

The most pretentious movie I've ever seen
Needed more Adrien Brody
>"Everyone’s looking for salvation by himself"
for me, it's barry lyndon
Truly profound. I think Kubrick was ahead of the curve in realizing war is actually bad.
that isn't quite what the picture is saying
Never watched anything that can be summed up by the word "pretentious" better than this.

That cover triggers my OCD
Die for israel goyim
Excellent remedy for insomnia.

>Thin red line
>There's a thin black line on the poster instead
