I never heard of Wake also needs MMO.

Transmetropolitan, Invincible, Wake, Usagi, Hobbes, Sandman and Locke aren't essential, let alone worth reading. Try remaking this with a few more thousands on your back.

          >Several I listed are capetrash
Transmetropolitan, Wake, Usagi, Hobbes, Sandman and Locke are capes? Sorry, I didn't realize you were such a casual.

Sandman is capeshit, yes. It stars Martian Manhunter and crosses over with JLA.
Invincible too, which you curiously left out.
The others aren't cape but they aren't good either.
Do you know what casual means or are you just using it as a buzzword because you saw others do it? Because in this context of you shooting entry level comics at me it doesn't really make sense.

              >Sandman is capeshit, yes. It stars Martian Manhunter and crosses over with JLA.
That doesn't make it capeshit. I don't think MM was a star in that title.
              >Invincible too, which you curiously left out.
Because that's the only one correctly labeled capeshit.
              >The others aren't cape but they aren't good either.
              >moving the goalposts

That guy is a moron, but Sandman is capeshit at its core. It's bringing DC cape properties (The Sandman, Doctor Destiny, Wonder Woman's daughter) into a House of Mystery/Secrets sort of thing and pumping it with more lit.

Here are some comics actually essential to posting on Cinemaphile, which is mostly Big Two focused:
    FF by Kirby
    ASM by Ditko and Romita
    Watchmen
    Batman by Frank Miller
    MMO

Watchmen gets more threads here than all of these combined.
I haven't seen much discussion of Locke and Key.
Peanuts gets regular threads, as does Megg, Mogg, and Owl. Then there are beloved Euro properties, along with Tintin, like Asterix and Moomin.
Starman, Sandman Mystery Theatre, Silver Surfer Requiem, All Star Superman, Batman Year One, and The Question get occasional threads and you get dogpiled if you try to say negative things about them.

Requiem was more of a 2010 infatuation honestly.
Also, I'd say maybe Killing Joke gets more debate threads than Year One even though both are essential

        Yeah, I think you're right.

        >Batman Year One and not The Long Halloween
        🙁

I forgot Long Halloween does get a lot of love here.

Replace Invincible with Watchmen and you have a OK list.

Calvin and Hobbes is overrated. There, I said it. It's just recycles the same imagination joke or the higher than average lexicon of a grade schooler joke ad nauseam.

It's not even good. Only Americans praise strips with barebones storytelling because of their culture of nostalgia.

      What's your favorite comic strip?

put watchmen there. I don't care what people think of the actual comic, you should read it because it's the ultimate litmus test of your taste in comics...that and it's one of the few comics that can have a thread with the potential of reaching bump limit without being a storytime.
