As much as people made a big stink about that dumpster fire supposedly being about puberty and the characters being horny or whatever, there was absolutely nothing noteworthy of that nature in the entire film. The furthest they went with it was the main tweens going "omg those completely inoffensive pretty-boy stereotype celebrities are cute! CUTE!"

It couldn't even be offensive dogshit in an entertaining way, it was just bland crap.

There was a lot of menstruation talk and the mom alluded to a vegana as flower petals, but I get what you're saying. If it was live-action and not Disney it would be treated as any other coming of age movie and wouldn't have had the reactions it did. Are You There God It's Me Margaret came out one year later with a lot more "preteen girls talking about sex" and it still got a PG also a significantly better movie, so maybe not a fair comparison.

it's a really weird obsession with people who are well meaning but still heavily influenced by hatred of the other: the delusion that gays want to 'force' other people to be gay is nonsense, same as when they were afraid of the Irish, israelites, or Italians in NY, thinking these groups wanted to 'force' white protestants to be catholic or israeli or some shit. In reality, these 'otherized' groups just want to be comfortable in their own spaces. It's not the threat to you you feel it is. You own the world but you can't live in every fricking tiny corner of it but when a poor family moves to occupy space you never fricking wanted to begin with, it's the highest of all crimes and an 'invasion'. Comes from the insane delusion that you are owed more than god at all times just because you were born 'normal' or 'standard'. Boring and stupid and self defeating. No. You don't even learn about it in public education so the most boys get is a talk from their dad or have to deal with it on their own if they don't have one. I remember most of my S.E. in school was learning about females while stuff about men was just glossed over. there's a reason that all media is designed around women and nonwhites, they're the easiest to influence through media, asians and hispanics are a bit more collectivist and blacks often dont have dads to develop the self restraint/internal order that makes one resistant to media manipulation.
Every society over 150 people will be ruled by a small group of people who tell stories of why they're in charge, the ones ruling now rule through media, bureaucracy, unquestionable "experts" in any number of fields, the justifying story they have is that their consumer base is better off being consumer prostitutes to fend off the white and male devils from having authority.
