Doom invades and kicks their asses, t'challa sure and confident that doom would never be able to pass the final defense (the literal panther god) and he does pass.
then t'challa chimps out and activates a fail safe that some how makes all the vibranium in wakanda (and possibly the world) into useless scrap metal.
of course later comics ignore this because then wakanda would be nothing special anymore

The last three panels are his reaction to getting punched. These three panels make up most of the page, so they're probably important for what the author is trying to convey.
But you can barely make out his reaction! IMO a head-on view of a fierce look of defiance would've worked better for example - even if half the face was covered up by an incoming punch to connect it to the action of the previous panel. Fierce eyes and some battle damage around them is all you need to convey the emotion, really.
