I love how his characters break out in page long monologues and people just shut up and take it. It was a thing for almost all of Walking Dead and only in some issues of Firepower I saw him try to remedy this a bit.
I don't pay attention to much industry drama so I don't really know how he treats his artists. As a writer he seems competent to me but he's too attached to long-running serializations for my taste. I've gotten bored and dropped anything of his that I've read well before the ending.
For the longest time I had Johnathan Hickman mixed up with Kirkman, so whenever I would see one of the 10 daily threads b***hing about the former I would just be confused as to why the guy who made a gorillion dollars selling the rights to his boring serial dramas from Image was bothering at all with Marvel.
