It's still a bunch of meandering filler where hardly anything happens.
It's very unfortunate that they used the multiverse bullshit when it looks like every other movie is about multiverses now. Also the animation is not particularly good.
Anyway, I found the story interesting, the completely different themes of each world were cool, I liked some of the jokes, and I think the characterizations were okay, with the obvious exception of poor Shadow, who was a literal non-character in season 1.
In sum, it may not be outstanding but I found it enjoyable, I'm waiting for season 2.
I don't even get why Rouge is suddenly part of that group. That had to have been a Netflix move for more girlboss characters. And even then why not Blaze? Especially if they're going to tone down Rouge's barely concealed furry fetish design anyway and go with a multiverse plot
