Lately, enough chapters were translated to the point that we're almost caught up with the manga's actual serialization. It's not done yet but I'm curious to hear /m/'s thoughts on Zeta's version of the Origin
Its not happening, anon, they already invested 19 or so volumes on Kitazume's trip. At best, we can hope that they get someone else for the hypothetical ZZ remake manga.
Maybe in some ways. I don't even care about the altered ending because I'd rather movie retellings do something significantly different from the original than rehashing series animation with shittier pacing. But Bamco really fricked up by not letting Sunrise just reanimate everything, there's so much wasted potential.
ZZ would be a real fun setting for side stories: you have the remains Karaba trying to fend off the unexpectedly victorious Axis which would be a fair place for a grunt story and a nice change from 0079; then you have the civil war to spice things up.
Somehow I fear Kitazume has the civil war earmarked for his ridiculous Char adventures.
If anything it NEEDS sidestories to flesh it out more that's Not the moronation of fricking AoZ because wow AoZ's going Thunderbolt levels of moronation.

Just roll with some EFF squad made up of of ex-Titans, Karaba and EFGF regulars having to make due.
Like you are bound to have a lot of Titans upon hearing that Jamitov got all friendly with Haman just start to demand answers since their High Command is collaborating with Zeke Remnants. You know the guys the Titans were made to hunt down.
And hey Barzams and other Titans suits being good guys alongside AEUG suits and a mix of 0083/Upgraded OYW suits.
>Kitazume letting somebody else write his waifu
We both know that's not happening.
We'll get ZZ Define, with as many poorly traced (if any at all) CGI models, and we'll like it.
In any case, Kitazume already dipped into that featuring Roux and the Axis gang in some chapters, so chances are we will get ZZ define by him.
It probably is nowadays, yes. While the original Mobile Suit Gundam and Zeta placed first and second in the big NHK documentary a few years back in the top 40 entries across TV shows, movies, OVA etc, ZZ placed 22nd. Behind the majority of TV shows, UC or AU. Only G-Reco (27), Gundam AGE (29), SD Gundam Force (33), Build Fighters Try (35) and SD Gundam Sangokuden Brave Battle Warriors (38) placed below it as TV shows. And only 2 of those are mainline Gundam shows. There were a lot of shows that placed ahead of it, along with a good few movies and OVAs. Including movie adaptions of TV shows.
ZZ was actually quite popular when it aired though, oddly. It was as popular as Zeta in the rankings, but it wasn't much less popular and was doing well enough that Sunrise added another 7 episodes to the initial order of 40 episodes. Which is probably why some of the final episodes seem a bit weird, with oddball animation like Rasara dying after a rock fails to hit her etc. Zeta was doing well enough even early in it's run that Sunrise decided to commission a direct sequel that became ZZ, but ZZ had another 7 episodes added on top too. It's just gotten less popular over time.
That said, if someone were to adapt it as a manga I'd love for Akinori Endo and/or Yumiko Suzuki (the husband and wife team of main writers for both Zeta and ZZ) to do so, and to do an adaptation that hews closer to Tomino's original plan for ZZ, with Emma living, Char being a secret mentor to Judau before becoming the villain etc. Maybe not a full on adaptation of that outline, but at least mixing elements of it in with the ZZ we got.
It's shit. Shit rewrite, dogshit art with literal Google Sketchup models that Kitazume can't even pose right, terrible pacing for a manga. The redesigns are also awful
I assume it is Char given the hair and forehead scar; no idea why he's in a Titan's uniform though. He's probably undercover in that volume or something.
It's shit.
How does the gag office lady manga manage to get the characters right more than Char's Deleted Affair did?
CDA is a clusterfrick and this writer kinda sucks balls.
I hope it's forgotten once it's finished and someone else takes a shot at Zeta:The origin.
Its... Amateurish and underwhelming

Zeta can't catch a break. Weak movie retellings, awful remake manga. It deserves better.
>Weak movie retellings
They're superior to the show.

I'd like it's zeta if they didn't drastically change the chest like it did
the whole cyber abuse plot is viciously ripped from the story despite it being one of the most important plot-lines for the protagonist
Honestly it doesn't need umpteen retellings and side stories.
>and side stories
That it needs. We need more side stories set after OYW.
No. No side stories. No more OYW side stories or any others.
Zeta has the upper hand in that it has less side stories than OYW, it's better for the core series.

>Char vs Haman in Neo-Zeon's joint custody battle that destroys Ireland feat Judau sometimes
I'm okay with this.
It's shit.

I feel like ZZ needs a re-write the most, and it gets jack shit. Is it really that unpopular?

What out of character things will Kitazume do to make Haman a victim all the time in ZZ?

Shit scans are just that: shit scans.
Still better than the original.

If Haman fondles Judau's crotch like Emma did with Kamille, I riot
Wow. Lewd. Haman and Judau is a wholesome pairing.
HUH?!
It's alright
I liked Char's Deleted Affair, so I'm going to give this a look.
I thought it would be cool by adding some more development to minor characters like Lilla Milla Rira.
Instead it's weird fan fiction where they add this Shelly Page girl who dresses like a ho and Bask Om simps for
It's okay but man does it go hard on adding competent, even hyper competent, women.
How far are they into Zeta’s plot?
Just concluded the Kilimanjaro arc, Four survived but is in critical condition.
So more 7 years until the ending
I liked it.
Is this Char? Why would Char turn to Earthling's dog?
I assume it is Char given the hair and forehead scar; no idea why he's in a Titan's uniform though. He's probably undercover in that volume or something.
Because he's never betrayed anyone in his entire life ever.
