incredible poster too
i hate mcuck shit and their bland with all the characters lined up so much, absolutely soulless. no message, no creativity, no sense of art
They picked the Ultimate universe because they could pull off his origin in modern day and still use source material. Almost all of the super hero movies use concepts from Ultimate universe. The only major variance in the MCU is Captain America is the first super soldier instead of Fury. If only the second Spider Man reboot could have pulled off the larger aspects of the Ultimate Spider Man origin. I would have liked the Parker-Brock Venom experiments before Peter's birth that created the symbiote more coherently than the set up we got with the deleted scenes.
The poet laments his complex and tragic life and wishes he was a simple sea creature with claws like a crab or a lobster on the bottom of the ocean away from civilization never knowing it existed. Doc Ock also identifies with a sea creature (octopus), is a tragic figure, ends up deep in the sea, and his tentacles have claw attachments.
No lie detected. The whole trilogy is absolute gold. The first one has the best villain portrayal but 2 is probably the best overall. 3 is obviously the weakest but still entertaining.
This. Nolan's movies are midwit le serious crime dramas that just happen to have people in costumes in them. Raimi's stuff is pure superhero SOVL and honors the character with sincerity, admiration and dedication to his portrayal. Also, it has some of the most human scenes i've seen in movies, period. That scene where Peter tells Aunt May he's responsible for Ben's death is *chef's kiss*. The effort and care they put in these films even if people back then would have settled for something decent and half-way fun like the X-Men movies says something. Great movies.
cannot really understand how or why this movies look worse today, all the fricking budget is supposed to go into cgi and it looks like ass
last good looking cgi i remember in capeshit is first avengers movie
Talent train, new directors and outsourcing to 90 iq indians.
The talented people who knew how lighting works go work at google, nvidia etc for way more money and less hours.
Also older directors knew how to shoot a scene and allow for CGI to be inserted into it after while taking lighting conditions/framing etc etc into account.
Transformers 2007 vs Rise of the Beasts is a good example. Bay shot the scenes on an actual camera on location, worked in practical effects whenever possible and had a prime ILM help guide him. The difference is noticeable even to normie morons.

I’m a zoomer and I just went to the library 2 days ago. Read the dune concept art book as well as a book on screenwriting. Libraries are comfy places I neglected most of my life, but have been getting into them a lot since 2022.

First things that come to mind would be: >Superman 1978 >Watchmen >Dredd >Pixar's Incredibles >X-Men 2 >Joker >Batman Begins

This. For a movie that long, it flows BEAUTIFULLY. Great pacing. Or atleast I think so. It has great scene after great scene and Jackie Hayley as Rorschach is on the same level as Ledger's Joker for me in terms of defining the character and being the most memorable part of his film.
Single handedly the best cast role in all of cape shit.

I did the same a couple of years ago. The first in particular is as close to perfect as a superhero film could possibly be. We had absolutely no idea how good we had it back then.

This is what the new Spiderman movies completely fail to grasp. The most interesting thing about Peter Parker is his relatability, NOT his over the top suit and iron man-esque gadgets.
Making Peter a quippy zoomer with an easy as frick high school life takes away from what makes Peter interesting. You really feel Peter's struggle in the older movies, and how he desperately tries to balance his alter ego with his every-day life
>Flash in the Toby movies is a genuine butthole twice his size that would've put his head through a locker if he wasn't Spider-Man >Flash in the new movies is a beta that nobody likes whose jabs at Peter come off like petty insecurity even to the other characters

It's not even so much a bad casting decision (though I don't think it's great) as it is the actual writing though. They could have made a more nerdy Flash mogging Peter in school even at the things he's supposed to be good at and enjoys because he can't study as much work well.
Yeah im surprised how well Raimi got Peter Parker.
I hope we get a Spidey 4 that follows 1 and 2's formula again, really show Peter struggling with his new family life while jugging Spider Man, maybe he considers retirement at his age.

the aspect of him trying to make money as a pizza boy or a photographer made him so much more relatable vs just being some highschooler
picrel i was a skinny elementary school kid when i saw this and thought it was so cool seeing him beat up some mega roided out guy, the flash could have done this angle too
I love that this actually looks like a makeshift first attempt at a costume idea. It's just a simple hoodie, sweatpants, mask, and gloves with a spray painted logo.
Simple, practical, and realistic for a broke highschool kid.
Presumably he saved up money for decent fabrics. He could've taken it to a costume maker and told them it was for a cosplay.
I find it more believable that he made the suit on his own rather than the high tech web shooters. Which is why Raimi tried to memory hole this.
I've come to realize the reason Spider-Man 3 didn't work is that for the most part Peter was happy and everybody loved Spider-Man. That is simply not how it works.
Spider-Man 2 works because when Peter Parker drops his books, 3 people bash him in the head while he goes to picks them up. The movie just keeps beating and beating on the guy, which makes it feel all the more gratifying when he finally gets a slice of chocolate cake.
Watching old classic capeshit like this just makes me wonder what people enjoy in the new movies.

Yes. 2gays get out.
I’ve never gottten hype over two. It was good but way too sappy
bros, i fricking love spiderman
The entire trilogy is peak kino, they literally dont make em like this anymore
Holy fricking kino
i still have no idea what that means. why a pair of claws? and how does this relate to doctor octopus?
Its a piece by T.S Eliot called The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock.
No shit that still doesnt answer my question
Its ironic that a piece by T.S Eliot about love that his wife once told him about ends up referencing his life. You'd understand if you read it
you're mentally handicapped
The poet laments his complex and tragic life and wishes he was a simple sea creature with claws like a crab or a lobster on the bottom of the ocean away from civilization never knowing it existed. At least this spiderman didn't get raped in the ass.
No. Spider-Man 2 is the best capekino ever made. It took me years to accept this personally.
HERESY!!!

I watched the open matte version yesterday, it's kino.
So....Who cleans this shit off buildings?

This was so good. The reboots never managed to capture the same feel of speed and movement.
It sucks that in the Insomniac's game you can't do vertical 360 swings like that.

Truly Raimi's NYC was a magical place.
There's an entire generation of men who grew up with this as kids
Perfect casting also helps, this is Uncle Ben
I love how excited he was to get the opportunity to take Peter to the library so he could have a heart-to-heart.

JK Simmons has been bald for like 40 years. He's wearing a hairpiece in the spiderman movies.
It would be Spider Man 2, but this is of course an acceptable answer.
The best Marvel movies ever made were Spider Man 1 and 2, and Hulk.
